2023 UPDATE: How To Pick The Perfect Pair Of Tieks Shoes.

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

Interested in Tieks ballet flats but not sure which pair is right for you? I've put together a list of tips to help you decide. Plus, I've got lots of photos of Tieks shoes with side-by-side comparisons to help you decide which pair is perfect for you. I've even got a video below, so be sure to check it out!

2023 Update: I've added even more styles so this should be a complete list with all the styles!

    Tieks Shoes

This probably won't come as a surprise after viewing the image above, but I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to Tieks ballet flats. I got my first pair in 2015 and I'm now the proud owner of more than 70 pairs of Tieks shoes. That may sound a bit excessive but I've decided that these shoes are an investment worth making. I'm on my feet most of the day running around with two kids. I need shoes that are comfortable, reliable, and durable. Tieks shoes check all the boxes, plus they're stylish and come in such a variety of fun colors and prints. Be sure to check out my full Tieks review to see exactly why I think these flats are so amazing. Once you've decided that you want to take the plunge, it can be hard to choose the perfect pair. I'm sharing some photos and tips to help you decide which pair is right for you.

How to pick the perfect pair of Tieks shoes

First, inventory your closet. Even though you love those Mustard Tieks, if you don't have anything to go with them then they might not be the best choice right off the bat. My closet is full of jeans and black tops, so I really wanted a pair of Tieks that would pop against my neutral wardrobe. I chose Cardinal Red since I'm naturally drawn to that color and they were absolutely perfect for me. In fact, they're still my most-worn pair. So, take note of the colors you wear most.

Then, take a look at your current pair(s) of flats or shoes. Are they damaged or scuffed? If so, is it because they're inexpensive and the quality is lacking, or are you truly hard on your shoes? Before I found Tieks, I had one pair of designer flats that I wore so often that the soles wore out. Since I don't tend to trip or scuff my shoes often, they still looked great on the outside though. From that experience, I knew that choosing a pair of buttery soft leather flats was reasonable for me. If you tend to be super hard on your shoes then maybe a lighter shade like Ballerina Pink or a more delicate finish like Lovestruck aren't the best options for you. Choosing a darker shade, or one you can clean, condition, and polish more often might be a better choice.

Do your research. Browse social media using the #Tieks hashtag to see how people style their Tieks. Also, check out the Tieks website to browse tons of beautiful photos. Click on each shoe in the boutiek to see a scrolling slideshow of images pulled from real people using the #Tieks and #Blueprints hashtags on Instagram. I LOVE this feature since you can see Tieks shoes in so many different settings and shades of light.

One of the hardest things for many of us Tieks fans is deciding which pair to order. I tend to narrow it down to a few pairs but then wonder what they'd look like side by side. So, to help make your decision a little easier, I took photos of all of my Tieks so you could see them up close and personal. I also snapped side-by-side comparison photos of shoes that are similar in shade or texture so you can compare the two. I'll be sure to add to this as my collection continues to grow. Let me know if this Tieks shoes resource helps you!

    Photos of Tieks Ballet Flats

    cardinal red tieks

Cardinal Red Tieks - This is where it all started for me. These shoes were my first pair of Tieks and are still my most worn pair. They've held up incredibly well and have molded perfectly to my feet.

    True Love Red Tieks

True Love Red Tieks - These were a limited edition for Valentine's Day 2021. They're a classic, full-grain leather and brighter than Cardinal Red.

    Infrared Tieks

Infrared Neon Red Tieks - A special edition to the neon collection.

    red diamond tieks

Red Diamond Tieks - These were a limited edition release for Black Friday 2017. They are STUNNING. They're a truer red than Ruby Red and brighter. They also came with a special box topper which was amazing.

Ruby Red Tieks - A darker, richer red than Cardinal Red with the durability of patent leather.

    Ruby Red Croc Tieks

Ruby Red Croc Tieks - These are discontinued Tieks in the croc print, but you can still get the same effect with Ruby Red Tieks.

    rouge tieks

Rouge Tieks - These were a first for the brand as they're made from suede. Check out how to care for them in this post with suede care tips.

    Burgundy tieks

Burgundy Tieks - I can't get over how deeply rich the color is. I'm hoping these will help me give my Cardinal Red Tieks a rest.

    Razzlberry tieks

Razzleberry Tieks - A beautiful and rich patent. They're also available in Little Miss Tieks for a mommy-and-me shoe style.

    fuchsia tieks

Fuchsia Tieks - These are bright and bold. I wear them year-round here in Florida and they match a lot of my Lilly Pulitzer items.

    pop pink tieks

Pop Pink Tieks - Speaking of BRIGHT... these patent leather neon Tieks are SUPER bright. It's actually a little hard to capture the true saturation of these beauties. You can see more in my full post about neon Tieks.

    aquarella tieks

Aquarella Tieks - These were originally unveiled in 2016 and were created to be a one-of-a-kind pair for one lucky person. In 2018, Tieks decided to release them for the public and they're simply gorgeous. You can check out my full post about Aquarella Tieks for more photos and styling tips.

    blush patent tieks

    Blush Patent Tieks

    tieks ballerina pink

Ballerina Pink Tieks - They're perfectly pale and pink.

    cotton candy tieks

Cotton Candy Tieks - The perfect shade of pink!

    coral tieks

Coral Tieks - These are perfectly tropical. They're also another pair of patent leather flats that go very well with Lilly Pulitzer clothing (if you happen to be a Lilly fan).

    outrageous orange tieks

Outrageous Orange Tieks - Another great neon. These patent leather Tieks kind of remind me of a hunter's vest or traffic cone. They're bright and I personally love them. See how I style them Outrageous Orange Tieks and the other neons too.

    orange tieks

Tangerine Tieks - A true orange and perfect for this University of Florida fan.

    Poppy Tieks-min

Poppy Tieks - These are delightfully bright and are a perfect mix of pink and coral. They're only available during Poppy season, so keep an eye out for them this Spring and Summer.

    peach poppy tieks

Peach Poppy Tieks - These Icelandic Peach Poppy flats were a limited edition in 2021.

    mustard tieks

Mustard Tieks - These are much brighter and more cheerful than I expected. I thought they'd be more of a spicy or dijon mustard kind of color for fall, but to my delight they're much bolder and are the shade of classic yellow mustard. They match a No. 2 pencil pretty perfectly.

    echo dot vegan tieks

Echo Dot Tieks - a member of the Vegan collection.

    unmellow yellow tieks

Unmellow Yellow Tieks - These channel a classic yellow highlighter and definitely make a statement. See how I pair them here.

    clover tieks

Clover Tieks - The color of Clover is a perfect shade of green. It reminds me of shamrocks and really adds a pop of color to whatever you're wearing.

    Emerald Green Tieks

Emerald Tieks - These patent flats are so regal and the most gorgeous shade of green.

    pacific green tieks

Pacific Green Tieks - This color is the perfect blend of blue and green. This may be my favorite pair of green Tieks. They're top grain leather and are burnished for a slightly distressed effect.

    tahiitan pearl tieks on feet

Tahitian Pearl Tieks. Very similar to Pacific Green, but with a beautiful metallic shimmer. This was a Black Friday release in 2021. See the full post for side-by-sides of these.

    olive tieks

Olive Tieks - These Olive green Tieks were like butter right out of the box. The full-grain leather is so soft and supple and the color is rich. I think these flats will transition beautifully from season to season.

    galactic green tieks

Galactic Green Tieks - These are super bright and fun! They almost glow in the dark. See how I wear them in my post about neon Tieks.

    mint tieks

Mint Tieks - These patent leather Tieks are a great shade of light mint green.

    Tiek Blue

Tiek Blue - These patent leather Tieks take that signature blue sole to a whole new level. I also love the durability of the patent.

    cobalt tieks

Cobalt Tieks - As a University of Florida fan, these Tieks were a MUST-have for me. I also wore them on the "blue carpet" for the Finding Dory World Premiere.

    sapphire tieks

Sapphire Tieks - I have one word for these patent leather flats; STUNNING. They are truly fit for a queen. I've got an entire post about these Sapphire Tieks, so be sure to check that out for more photos and a video.

    paradise blue tieks

Paradise Blue Tieks - These have a light blue base with metallic silver scales. They are even more beautiful in person.

    moonstruck tieks

Moonstruck Tieks - I love the glittery shine of the "strucks" and so I had to have these. The "peacocking" on my pair is perfection! Sidenote: Peacocking refers to the color-changing pattern or rainbow effect on Lovestruck, Starstruck, and Moonstruck.

    navy tieks

Navy Tieks - I wasn't sure I needed Navy, but I'm so glad I got them. The color is amazing in person and so dark and rich.

    Midnight Blue Tieks

Midnight Blue Tieks - These were a special Black Friday release for 2019. They're a classic metallic navy blue.

    Heritage Plaid Tieks

Heritage Plaid Tieks - These were one of the first fabric Tieks releases and they're such a great print and so comfy!

    azure snake tieks

Azure Snake Tieks - The Snake Tieks feel super durable to me and the color of Azure is awesome. The mix of royal blue, aqua, pewter, gold and black is fabulous.

    ultraviolet tieks

Ultraviolet Tieks - the latest release in the Neon collection, launched in the summer of 2020. See more photos of Ultraviolet Tieks here.

    Tyrian Tieks

Tyrian Tieks - These were the limited edition Black Friday release in 2020. They're crushed velvet perfection!

    lilac tieks

Lilac Tieks - These are another new addition for me. The shade of purple is bold and divine. See how versatile Lilac Tieks can be in my post about why you need a little blue stripe in your wardrobe.

    electric snake tieks

Electric Snake Tieks - My first pair of Snakes and the obsession is REAL! Pink, lavender, aqua, black, pewter and gold is perfection. Check out my full review of Tieks here to see even more photos of these beauties.

    Lavender Snake Tieks

Lavender Snake Tieks - These snakes are so pretty! They're the perfect mix of light purple, blue, and gold metallic.

    sand snake tieks

Sand Snake Tieks - These are another great neutral that are also a bit more lively thanks to the snakeskin print in shades of gold, white, grey, and black.

    copperhead snake tieks

Copperhead Snake Tieks - I love the copper, silver, and black coloring of these beautiful neutral flats.

    mocha snake tieks

Mocha Snake Tieks - This is a richer color combination if you're looking for more exciting brown flats with hues of caramel, black, and brown.

    giraffe tieks

Giraffe Tieks - I believe these Giraffes were released in 2012 and have since been retired. They're a pale neutral with a faint giraffe pattern and even have furry hair on them.

    sunset stripe tieks

Sunset Stripe Tieks - My first pair of Vegan Tieks and it's LOVE. You can read more about why I love my Vegan Tieks for even more photos of these beauties.

    Mojave Tieks

Mojave Tieks - These fabric flats fit a little snug, so be sure to read my full post about them for sizing tips.

    wild copper tieks

Wild Copper Tieks - Such a great mix of metallic and snakeskin print!

    leopard tieks

Leopard Tieks - I absolutely love my Leopard Tieks. I originally bought a pair in 2016, but ended up exchanging them since the finish looked a bit dry for my taste. This pair is from the latest batch (Fall 2017) and they are beautiful. Be sure to check out my post about styling Leopard Tieks as a neutral.

    tortoiseshell tieks

Tortoiseshell Tieks - Another gorgeous neutral! The patent finish makes these Tieks classy and durable. Check out my full post about Tortoiseshell Tieks and how to style them.

    raspberry truffle tieks

Raspberry Truffle Tieks - The Black Friday release of 2018. This is the perfect blend of Chocolate and Burgundy. Check out my full post about Rapsberry Truffle Tieks for even more shots and a video.

    chocolate brown tieks

Chocolate Brown Tieks - A perfect classic. They're super rich, soft and comfy. See more photos of these brown Tieks and a video with more side-by-side of just brown tones.

    Siena Brown Croc Tieks

    Sienna Brown Croc Tieks

    Ember Tieks

    Ember Tieks

    chesnut tieks

Chestnut Tieks - Perfect for fall! These classics are timeless and a perfect shade of autumn brown.

    Camel Tieks

Camel Tieks - These are also super comfy and soft. Camel is a great option between Mustard and Chestnut (see comparison photos below).

    taupe tieks

Taupe Tieks - Taupe gets my vote as the most perfect neutral ever. The mixture of brown and grey is a thing of beauty.

    metallic bronze tieks

Metallic Bronze Tieks - These are super soft and a beautiful rich tone of bronze. It's definitely a statement neutral, as Tieks says on their site.

    golden glitz tieks

Golden Glitz Tieks - All the beauty of the old Hollywood style comes to life in these crackly gold beauties.

    metallic gold tieks

Metallic Gold Tieks - These offer a beautiful, rich color that shimmers in the sunlight.

    champagne tieks

Metallic Champagne Tieks - These gorgeous flats were a limited edition run that was only available during the weekend of Black Friday in 2016. They're a great neutral with a touch of shimmer.

    cream tieks flats

Cream Tieks - These shoes are definitely underappreciated. They are a great neutral and are buttery soft right out of the box.

    nude patent tieks

Biscotti (formerly known as Nude) Patent Tieks - A very light and shiny neutral.

    romantic blush tieks

Romantic Blush Tieks - Ballerina Pink with a metallic and shiny snakeskin overlay. They're gorgeous!

    Rose Tieks

Rosé Pink Champagne Tieks - These are so shimmery and pretty!

    rose gold glam tieks

Rose Gold Glam Tieks - If you're a fan of rose gold (which I am), you will definitely love Rose Gold Glam. Just as the name suggests, they're glamorous and ultra luxe.

    lovestruck tieks

Lovestruck Tieks - I don't think any photo would ever be able to do these sparkly rose gold shoes justice. They're treated for a luminous shine, which makes them more delicate than other pairs, but they're truly exquisite.

    starstruck tieks

Starstruck Tieks - Like their counterparts Lovestruck, Starstruck Tieks are treated for that same luminous shine, but these are bolder and more striking. They stand out from the crowd and have become one of my favorite pairs.

    toscani tieks

Toscani Tieks - These are now discontinued, but they are AMAZING in person. They are hand-painted and no two pairs are exactly alike.

    SIlver Screen Tieks

Silver Screen Tieks - These shiny flats are chic and flashy, and I just love them.

    diamond white croc tieks

Diamond White Croc Tieks - a soft patent leather flat.

    white rose tieks

White Rose Tieks - They are now discontinued Tieks, but they're gorgeous!

    Rose Garden Tieks

Rose Garden Tieks - These have also been discontinued, but the pretty floral fabric is so sweet and feminine.

    feather grey tieks

Feather Grey Tieks - These top grain leather flats are another great neutral, with warm taupe undertones.

    cool grey tieks

Cool Grey Tieks (see the full post at the link) -  The perfect grey neutral with blue undertones.

    Metallic Pewter Tieks

Metallic Pewter Tieks - Another great neutral, Metallic Pewter goes with pretty much everything.

    Silver Lake Vegan Tieks

Silver Lake Tieks - a Vegan option.

    greystone tieks vegan

Greystone Tieks - These vegan Tieks are a wool interpretation and are such a great shade of dark grey. Unlike the other vegan Tieks, where I needed to order a size up, I found Greystone to be true to size.

    grey patent tieks

Slate Grey Croc - I LOVE these. They seem so durable and are a fantastic neutral.

    drago tieks

Drago Tieks - an homage to Game of Thrones. Get a closer look at them in my full post about Drago Tieks.

    alpine grey tieks

Alpine Grey Tieks - These discontinued Tieks have been gone for some time, but are another beautiful pair of patent leather flats.

    Desert Croc Tieks

Desert Croc Tieks - long retired and released around the time of Alpine Grey.

    nude lace tieks

Nude Lace - If you're got an event coming up and need a dressier pair of flats, Nude Lace Tieks are for you! They've got a nude leather base (well, nude depending on your skin tone) with a black lace overlay and they are gorgeous. I was worried about them being too delicate but they've been holding up well for me so far. They may not be the pair for you if you're known to scuff up your shoes though.

    matte black tieks

Matte Black Tieks - Every girl needs a good pair of black flats and these take the cake. You can wear them from day to night and look sleek and sophisticated.

    Obsidian Tieks

Obsidian Black Tieks - These crinkled patent leather flats are one of my favorite and most worn pairs. They are so comfortable and stylish. I've even worn them to trade shows where I walked for 8-10 hour straight and had no issues at all.

    arabian night tieks

Arabian Night Tieks - These are an "E" on the color scale, which means they're the brightest and most colorful. They are beautiful and it's hard to capture the beauty in photos. They are spectacular.

    Black Leopard Tieks

Black Leopard Tieks - A limited edition for Black Friday in 2022.

    Seafield Check Tieks

Seafield Check Tieks - These were a limited release for Tieks Anonymous members on Facebook.

    magick tieks

Magick Tieks - Another enchanting print from Tieks.

I have a wardrobe full of basics as well!! I love anything that pops and shine so I am totally drawn to the toascani color or the romantic blush!! But seriously, Tieks are all so gorgeous that I wish I could own them all!! One day, when I win the lottery 😉

Hi Jenna! No, they don't have a wide size, but you may find that they fit. My mom also has a bunion from many years of being on her feet as a nurse and she can wear Tieks without a problem. She's got Taupe and Matte Black so far 🙂

Hi! I normally wear a 7 1/2 (because of my wide food). What size would you suggest? I have been reading about them for months now really want to try them~

              March 05, 2017 at 8:12 pm

Hi Lynne! I'd recommend trying a size 8. The return/exchange policy is fantastic (just don't wear them outside), so if the 8's are too big you can put in an exchange request for the 7 and they'll send them to you so you can try them side by side. Hope that helps and that you take the plunge 🙂

My issue with ballet flats is that they rub the Achilles tendons until they bleed. Have you had that issue with other ballet flats or with Tieks?

            • Ruth V. says

              March 19, 2017 at 3:36 pm

Hi Holley! I haven't had this issue with Tieks. I have had rubbing issues with other brands (although I usually remove them far before they ever bleed). You could try a pair and wear them inside of your house for a bit to see if they'll rub your Achilles. Just don't wear them outside in case you need to return 🙂

I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet which is like the diabetic neuropathy. It burns and it feels like one is walking on tiny needles. I have eight pairs of Tieks and they are completely comfortable!! In fact amazingly so!! I have never heard of anyone, regardless of foot problems, who cannot wear Tieks! Try one pair and you will be sold! I especially like the snake prints!!

Glad to know about the comfort as I get the needle thing too. But also, I wear a size 9 (Euro 39) - a long foot but narrow heel. Flats generally get wider by a size 9 and you walk out of the shoe or the heel falls off. Are there gathers at the heel to keep it in place?

I too have a bunion after having both surgically removed in 1973 due to arthritis when I was only 20! But I bought a size larger and it's fine. Just make sure the edge is pulled up over the bunion itself! Got mine for Christmas and only wore them outside the house once... not a winter shoe for our weather!

It depends on how tight they feel. The leather will stretch if you need it to, and you can even order a shoe stretchers from Amazon, but if they're painful I would put in an exchange request for the size up and see how those feel.

I'm considering my first pair. So I think I have narrowed it down to matte black or Cardinal red or cobalt blue. Hoping there won't be much toe cleavage, if any, as I am not a fan of that. I can see how one could get addicted.

Thanks for this awesome side by side color comparison. I have made orders and cancelled them a million times because I couldn't choose the perfect color! Then, of course I was afraid of spending so much money on a shoe that I couldn't try on before purchasing. I have narrow-ish feet, but can have a bunion if I am doing a lot of walking in bad shows. It becomes very obvious or it can become very irritated in an ill-fitting ballet flats, which isn't always apparent during the "trying on phase." I usually don't want to spend a lot of money on the "walk to the dinner table--only" shoes, if you know what I mean. So your mention of your mother not having a problem with the shoes has also given me extra courage to maybe hit the "send" button the next time I make an order.

Many of my friends have encouraged me to try Tieks. They, like me, have horrible back problems and we are business women who do trade shows and must be on our feet for many hours at a time. So, how am I going to narrow it down to one color???

Hi there! It's hard to narrow it down, but I'd recommend going with your gut instinct. For my first pair, I was going to order Matte Black, but Cardinal Red was really speaking to me, so I went for those. I've never regretted that choice! Let me know which pair you decide on 🙂

I've been looking at the black ones for a year now, I have a pair of wonderful black flats that I love, one reason, is they have an elastic band that crisscross around the ankle. This is supposed to be for beauty sake but I have MD and my darn shoes won't stay on my feet unless I'm strapped (lol) into them. Yes, it's an oddity and I have become very good at affixing straps to most of my slip on. Let me get to my question.. the little blue strap on the back of the heel, will I be able to slide an inch wide elastic through it?
          Thanks

Hi Jo Ann! The little blue stripe on the back of the heel is sewn directly onto the shoe so there isn't anywhere to slide an elastic through. That's a bummer! I wonder if you could have a cobbler add small loop of leather to the back of the heel though?

I like the slight shimmer of them without being too shiny. Just want to make sure what I end up ordering will be "fancy" enough. They definitely have a slight shimmer to them can be dressed up or down. I think the Metallic line is a bit dressier than the Classics for sure so they're probably a great choice if you don't like the glittery look of Starstruck/Lovestruck or the "foily" look of some of the prints.

When I first started buying Tieks, I didn't really think about Lovestruck or Starstruck because I wasn't sure if I wanted a lot of sparkle, but they are OUT OF THIS WORLD! I really don't think you could go wrong with any of those though! They are all pretty neutral in their own way and would match a lot.

Taupe is what I would choose. Grey is getting a lot of recognition as a neutral however the taupe has a warmer hue to it and would be more flattering on most skin tones. If you are going to wear a WOW outfit, having a more subtle shoe in a taupe or nude will really keep the eyes on top and add a touch of freshness and sophistication to the look.

I have the Feather Grey - they were actually the first pair I bought. I don't have the Taupe to compare them, but the Feather Grey is a very neutral grey. I got them instead of Taupe because they were my first pair and I wanted to be able to wear them with blacks and browns, and they look great with anything!

Hi there! My feet are pretty average, but I'm in a few Tieks chat groups and from what I hear, ladies with wider feet have a lot of luck with their Tieks. I'm not exactly sure about which size you should order, but you should definitely reach out to the Tieks customer service team at [email protected] for guidance. They are amazing!

I'm in the wide foot club, too. Length-wise, my feet are between a 9-9.5. But I usually get 10s because of the width issue. Tieks only have whole sizes, and they recommend to size up if you have wide feet, so I went with the 10s.... and totally hated them. The elastic for the toe cut right into the wide part of my foot at the base of my pinkie toe. I wanted so badly to love them, after hearing so many positive reviews. Maybe that's why I tried sizing down and exchanging them for 9s. Oddly enough, they fit like a dream. The shorter length meant that the toe elastic hit just enough higher on my foot so that it didn't cut. And even though they were a size down, the leather has enough stretch for my wide feet. I would totally buy another pair of classics, but I'm still a little leery of the patent and vegan ones, as I don't know that they'd have the same stretch as the buttery leather. But hey, their customer service is *great,* so I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world to try them out!

          Elizabeth Smith,
Your comment is so helpful. I am an 8.5 and I ordered both a 9 and an 8. The 9s were way too big, but I felt like the 8s were too small. They were right. Are you saying that you felt they stretched a bit?
I would love that. I wanted to love these so so badly.
But I didn't feel like I could bet $200 on them stretching when I didn't know if they would.
          Can you tell me?
          Thank you!

I can't decide! I have a lot of grey, navy, black in my wardrobe . . . anyone have a suggestion between these two choices? .

Hi Cammy! I'm so glad you love your bronze Tieks. When it comes to Fuchsia and Cardinal Red, I don't think you can wrong with either. Both of those would match your wardrobe of grey, navy and black, but I think the Cardinal is more of a year-round color. I noticed I didn't wear my Fuchsia as much in the fall/winter this year, BUT spring and summer are coming so those might be a good choice if you want to brighten things up! Let me know what you pick!

I've naturally been drawn to the Cardinal red since I first saw Tieks online. I live in Kansas so won't wear them much at all from December-February. Would you say the Fuchsia is a shocking pink? I'm a little worried they might be too bright for me. I have similar coloring as you - dark hair and eyes but somewhat fair skin. I'm just going to have to be a big girl and decide - we leave on our first cruise with our daughters in less than 3 weeks and I'll definitely want to bring my Tieks!

No, I wouldn't say Fuchsia is shocking (not like the retired Pop Pink - that one was BRIGHT). Fuchsia is probably my second most worn pair (after Cardinal Red). They're definitely one of my favorites.

Hi Patricia, I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems breaking in your Tieks. I haven't heard about any plans to release a wide version, but you may be able to gently stretch them if you double up on socks and wear them around the house. I've also heard of ladies using a two-way shoe stretcher (like this one on my affiliate Amazon: http://amzn.to/2j6rsOR) - but I don't have any personal experience with that. If you're a half size you could also consider going up a size. Hope this helps!

I bought a size 9 and they were a little roomy so I sent back and got an 8. They killed my feet the first few times I wore them. My toes stick through the top.....does it do this for everyone? Thinking of trying a size 9 to see if it molds to my foot. I was disappointed but got lots of compliments.

Hi Cathey, I'm sorry to hear you're having sizing issues. My toes do produce a little "toe bump" in some pairs and I've started adding a layer or two of moleskin to help with that. This is what I use: http://amzn.to/2kuXPHu - I simply cut a piece to fit inside of the toe box and then stick it to the top (inside of the shoe). I'll be sure to write a post about how I do that with some before and after photos soon. It wouldn't hurt to try the size 9 since Tieks has such a great return/exchange policy (just be sure you don't wear them outside). Hope this helps!

I normally wear an 8, but when I wore the 8 in Tiek's not only did my toes push through, but the bottom part "chipped" after a while. Tiek's allowed me to exchange them for a size up, and I never looked back. I have 3 pairs, and my blacks one have last for years. My other two pair are newer. They are addictive.

Hi Becky, I haven't had to stretch any of mine. From what I've read, some ladies that are truly 1/2 sizes like to go down a size and stretch them (which can take a little effort) and others size up for comfort. I think if the 6's don't flop off while you walk, you could try a cushioned insole to take up a little space. I did that with a pair of mine that were a little roomy and it worked like a charm, plus it protects the leather insoles which is nice. I used these air pillow inserts (Amazon affiliate) - http://amzn.to/2k5xBu6 and they worked great, but they take up too much space in my Tieks that fit perfectly. I hope that helps!

I could not decide between Golden glitz and metallic gold… Still not certain I made the right choice, as the metallic gold felt more neutral/beige and matte but the golden glitz may be a little too much for me! Do you have a comparison of these two? your thoughts?

Hi! I don't have a comparison between those two, but a good one would be my Silver Screen and Metallic Pewter. You're right that the Metallic Gold is a bit more neutral and the Golden Glitz will be pretty shiny. You might be pleasantly surprised though! I do love my Rose Gold Glam and Silver Screen (which are in the same "family" as Golden Glitz). Worse case scenario you can easily swap them for the Metallic Gold though. Hi, Sarah! I feel your concern for toe cleavage - I'm not a huge fan myself. I guess it depends on how long your toes are. Mine are pretty average and most of my Tieks provide great toe coverage. I have a few pairs with a shorter toe box, but when I'm standing or walking it's not very noticeable. If you do get a pair with a shorter toe box then you can always exchange since they're got a great return/exchange policy.

I tend to be hard on my shoes- they get scuffed in the back heel, they lose color on the front toes, they get wet and dirty, etc.

Hi Ann, I'd probably say that patents are the toughest and most durable. Try not to rest your foot when you're driving though because that can wear down the leather on the heel over time (which can happen to any shoe really).

I have narrow feet. I usually buy a 10N, 10S, or even 10AA. In pointy toe heels I have had some success with 9.5M. What size Tieks should I order? Thanks, I really want a pair of soft , easy to pack flats.

I have yet to own a pair of these, but they are definitely near the top of my wish list! I feel it would be smart of me to go with a more neutral color, but I'm so drawn to the Sunset Stripe pair! I appreciate your color charts - I'll be looking at it quite a bit until I finally get a pair!

I am interested in buying a pair of Tieks, but I don't know whether to go with Taupe or Chestnut. On your site the Taupe appears very neutral, while they appear more grey on the Tieks site. The Chestnut looks kind of orangey in color on the website. Do you have any experience with the Chestnut? (I was so hoping you would have a side-by-side for those two colors.).

I love you beautiful collection of Tieks , all of them cute and perfect to dress up or down but always being comfortable. Thanks to your blog I started to buy and wear my Tieks as my everyday shoes and I can tell you that wearing them is like wearing slippers after a breaking period of some days worn with socks at home. I currently have Navy. gold and cobalt blue and I got chestnut that will arrive soon ! I wish I win the lottery to get all those beautiful colors ! Love your blog !

I just received a Cardinal Red pair in a size 7 for my birthday. I normally wear a 7 and in something's a 7.5, the 7's are snug. I REALLY wanted the Fuchsia color, so I ordered the Fuchsia in an 8. I LOVE the way the size 8's feel. The size 7's are breaking in nicely. I have plantar fasciitis, can't wear flats for long. I'm wearing the 8's all day long. Love these!

Wanting to take the plunge to invest however, I just have to ask; after wearing tieks for a while, do they smell? I mean other flats I own start to get that funky smell from sweaty, constantly moving feet. Do these retain that smell as well? Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Stacy! None of my Tieks smell, but I usually try to let them air out for a day before wearing them again if I've worn them for a very long period of time (and since I live in Florida my feet can get a little sweaty). My Cardinal Red pair has been worn the most and even those don't smell, despite having darken insoles. I've heard that some ladies wipe their Tieks out with an alcohol-free baby wipe and some tea tree oil from time to time and that helps eliminate any odor problems they're having. Hope that helps!

Hi Deborah, I'm an 8.5/9 and wear a 9 in all my Tieks. If you can occasionally wear a 9, then you could try a 9 in Tieks. They have a great exchange policy (just as long as you don't wear them outside), so if the 9's end up being a little too short in the length you could request the 10 and they'll send them right out with a prepaid label to return the 9s. You might also want to reach out to Tieks to ask them about sizing. They're super helpful! [email protected] is the email I use.

It is a little shiny. The top grain leather (like Poppy, Cobalt, Clover) have a little bit of sheen/shine, whereas the full grain leather ones do not. It's not as shiny or durable as patent though.

Hi Christine! It's absolutely okay not to wear socks with these. The insoles will darken over time but that's perfectly normal. If you don't want that to happen though, you could pick up a pair of thin insoles. I just got these Shoeslulu inserts and I LOVE them (and I can switch them between pairs because they aren't attached to the shoe): http://amzn.to/2mQAAG9

Hi Glynna, I think the recommendation is to go down to a 7. Unless you have a wide foot, then go up to an 8. I'm an 8.5 in most shoes, sometimes a 9 (and always a 9 in sneakers), so I buy size 9 Tieks and they're perfect. Hope that helps!

I learned that investing in quality shoes was a must for me, so I have no problem with investing in Tieks. I wear them so often and for long periods so they're totally worth it to me. I've also sold some of my other shoes, boots and bags and that's helped fuel my Tieks addiction 🙂

Hi Gail! Poppy should be restocking (or so I've heard in chat groups). I would try to contact customer service - there is a chat function on the website or you can try them on Facebook or email - and ask if your size will be restocking. If that's your first choice then I'd wait for it if it's coming back. I don't have Lemon so I couldn't do a side by side, but the patents are pretty shiny! I hope that helps!

          Hi again,
I took the plunge and got Romantic blush. With it being my first pair I'm not sure if I just didn't know what to expect or if there really is an issue with the ones I received. I have normal width feet and don't usually struggle with flats, but these were tight in the toes and rubbed the tops of my big toes as well. I'm wondering if you've noticed a difference in the leather of the solid matte colors vs, the metallic pairs and if by chance that may be part of my issue??

Hi Kristen! I'm so sorry you're having issues! I haven't really noticed a difference between the solid matte colors vs. metallics, besides that some of my metallics show my "toe bump" a little more prominently and require a double layer of moleskin. Have you worn them outside? They might just require a little more breaking in if you haven't worn them a lot yet. Some women use a shoe stretcher or stuff the toe box with thick socks to help stretch them a little.

Ha - found this post on Pinterest on Friday so decided I needed to expand my Tieks (have black, burgandy and taupe).
Just broke it to hubby that I ordered 4 pair (olive, mustard, poppy and gold) - He just rolled his eyes. Thanks for the comparisons as it helped with my obsession decision.

Just wondering if it's normal to have over a thumbs width of distance to the end of the shoe. I also have a wide width and wear between a 7 1/2 and 8 so I ordered the 8. I just ordered a 7 for an exchange but I was wondering if I should keep the size 8 that is loose even on one heel or keep the smaller pair that might have a tighter width. When I spoke with customer service she just said some people like their shoes larger. It's a personal preference. That really didn't help me.

      Thanks for your help.

Hi Kris! I'm glad you put in the exchange to compare. More than a thumb's width is probably a much, but it really is personal preference. If the 7's feel way too tight, I'd probably stick with the 8's if they don't flop off your feet. I'd also probably add an insert to help take up a little bit of the space in the length if the width feels okay. I really like the Shoeslulu inserts. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the side by side comparisons! This is a huge help, but may have made things more difficult! I have been saving up and stalking the website for quite some time and had finally decided on Poppy for my first pair only to have missed my chance (my size just sold out). I would still like to get a pop of color for my first but am having a terrible time and now neon is coming out next week. Do you have any experience with the neon? Too many options... torn between cardinal red, mustard, tangerine, olive or waiting to see what the neons actually look like. Any advice? Thank you!

Hi Heather! I'm so glad you're going to get a pair of Tieks! I did have Pop Pink at one time but ended up selling them because I just didn't reach for them that often. They are BRIGHT! I wear my Fuchsia and Cardinal Red very, very often though. That being said, I do plan on buying Pop Pink again since I've been wearing a lot of Lilly Pulitzer lately 🙂 That probably doesn't help but you can always order one then put in an exchange immediately so you can have two pairs to check out side-by-side.

Now, after reading a few of your articles and others, I'm ready to buy my first pair. I'm going to Disney World in November and thought the Cardinal Red or Ruby Red would be cute. Hi Debbie! I was a nurse (staff nurse, then an ARNP) for 8 years and I think it really depends on what kind of nursing you do. If you're an administrator and sitting/standing most of the day then they'd definitely work. I know a lot of clinical pharmacists that wear them also, and they're on their feet most of the day. If you're likely to come into contact with any bodily fluid, then I'd probably stick to something a little more heavy duty and full-coverage, like Dansko.

I do wear socks with mine on occasion: https://www.vivaveltoro.com/best-no-show-socks-for-flats/

I have a neuroma on both feet, causing my second toe to " bump" up at the joint. Most shoes have to be either loose or have a soft toe box to be comfortable. What do you think? Should I go for it?

Hi Debbie! If you want to give them a try, I'd try a pair of classics in full-grain leather. The leather will mold to your feet and hopefully not put too much pressure on your neuromas. If you think they won't work, they have a great return policy (just don't wear them outside). If you think they might work, you can also get a shoe stretcher with those movable pressure point plugs to stretch that one area a bit. Hope that helps!

Another question. I know you talked about the silver screen but what's your option on on the golden glitz. I really love a good gold pair of shoes (sandals in summer) as my neutral and can't figure out what would be best. I also want a comparable silver after the gold. I am getting ready to make my very first Tieks purchase. I can't decide on the color and I would love some help. I want something neutral yet something that will stand out. I wear tons of black but have tons of black shoes so I would like to get something a bit more adventurous. I thought I had decided on taupe. But, now I'm second guessing myself and considering metallic pewter. I guess my big question is, will taupe go with black? Does it have enough grey in it? Or is it more of a brown color? I would get tons of use out of them if they could be worn with blacks and browns. But, if they won't go with black I probably need something that does. Please give me some advice. Thanks!

Thanks for the comparison. What are your thoughts about the delicacy of the rose gold glam and the lovestruck? I own the metallic bronze and they are more delicate than my classic pairs. I'm looking for a rosy color for my coach melon rogue purse that I received for the holidays. So both of those caught my eye. And the blush patent too which seems more durable because it's lighter.

This was a super helpful post! I have been searching for weeks to find a pair of flats to wear with my wedding dress. Since I’m already tall and my dress pretty well covers my feet, I really wanted comfortable shoes that I knew I could wear again. I have never worn Tieks before, but decided to go with the Romantic Blush pair. The side-by-side comparison pictures really gave me idea of what they might look like “in real life.” I’ve always been a fan of Tory Burch, but wasn’t finding what I wanted on their site. I love the variety of colors here, and it’s awesome that the blue stripe gives me “something blue!” I was torn between Romantic Blush and Moonstuck (because I was initially looking for something blue)... but figured Romantic Blush felt a bit more delicate and pretty for a wedding day. I am wondering about the durability when wet and also if they stretch if they get wet. I am thinking about my first pair for a week long Florida trip but want to make sure they are a good fit.

      Thank you,

Hi Lisa! I've gotten a few pairs wet (like SOAKED) and they actually fit better, although it does darken the insoles (which I don't mind at all). I think it helps them mold to your foot. They'll only stretch if you need them to. I hope that helps!

So, I received my first pair for Christmas (size 10, which is my size), I've been wearing them a lot, but I'm just not convinced they are all they are advertised to be. I expected them to be super comfortable, but instead I feel like they are tight. Tight at the end of my toes and tight at my heel. How long does it take for them to break in. Really looking forward to the superior comfort, but it's just not there. Any ideas?

      Hello!
What are your thoughts about the feather grey vs taupe? (Sorry if you already talked about this.) I love my black tieks and decided to look for a neutral/nude color as we head into spring. I am looking at both the grey & taupe but not sure which one to choose.
      Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi Tina! I don't have feather grey, but from what I've read and from photos I've seen, they're pretty light colored. I think feather grey or taupe would make a great neutral for most wardrobes. What I like about taupe is that they can sort of shift to brown or grey depending on what color you're wearing. They're really versatile and the color is awesome in person. You could always order one and then put in an exchange immediately for the other. That way you could have them both side by side to determine which one goes best with your skin tone. Tieks return/exchange policy is amazing and it's free shipping both ways. I hope that helps!

      Hi Ruth

Thanks for sharing this post! I’ve been a great fan of tieks as well, and am deciding on my next pair. The romantic blush leather I got seem to wear out quicker than the plain leather ones. The leather on the last toe is torn.

This post was PERFECT and really helped me narrow down which colors to look at. I THINK I'm relatively rough on my shoes, or simply clumsy. Even patent shoes of mine tend to get scratched on occasion. I am leaning towards burgundy over the cardinal red, and was wondering if you would recommend the ruby red over the burgundy? It would be for frequent wear - both casual and professional.

Hi Jacyln! If you're tough on your shoes, I'd get the burgundy since you can polish the scuffs with Tarrago (they've got a polish that is a perfect match for Burgundy). I hope you love them!

      Hi Ruth,
I bought my first pair of tieks in matte black in September. I wore them in the house and thought they were ok, not great yet but I figured we would get around to that part. I normally wear a 7.5 and got the 7 because I have narrow feet. I did try on the 8 but felt they would slip off of my feet. I called tieks last night because I got them out again after winter and they feel really tight at my big toe. They said I should try stretching the leather with a golf ball, have you ever done that?

Just added leopard print and you are right they are fabulous! I appreciate all the information you have provided on sizing and how to care for Tieks, but my favorite part is all the photos you posted of two different colors side by side. I was torn between a few shades like burgundy or cardinal red, and your photos helped me decide. (I went with the cardinal red and I'm so glad I did) Thank you again 🙂

I am looking for a color choice that matches with almost anything. So....jeans and a solid blouse? A little black dress? Any colors you think Lovestruck would NOT match with? I tend to wear darker colors in general. Thanks for this great post and for your opinion on this.

I think Lovestruck would be a lovely choice and they're very versatile. Just know that they're more delicate than other pairs due to the glitter. Taupe, metallic gold or pewter would also be good choices.

First read about these shoes a year ago, and ultimately decided to not spend nearly $200 on a pair of shoes. I am a barefoot girl whenever possible; if I have to wear something on my feet, it's sandals. Traveling to Europe again, so was revisiting a purchase, thinking perhaps leopard might be a versatile choice.

Now, not only am I purchasing Tieks, I am spending almost $300 on a pair (copperhead snake - was hoping to see a pic on your site!), PLUS two more pair! (ballerina pink and cardinal red). I have several more colors on my list, really more than I will ever need! I do want to try for size and comfort before I get any crazier here. 🙂

I blame you lol I thank you also, though. Looking at your pictures were quite helpful. and resulted in me making several choice changes. (I am sad they no longer carry giraffe - that would have absolutely been a choice for me!) The ballerina pink appear much more subdued than I imagined - I had a pair of this color flat, though I wore them so much I have destroyed them! I am still not sure if I should have chosen the blush patent for better durability.

The most unexpected pair I loved was rose garden. I do not have enough in my wardrobe (and I am too hard on my shoes) to justify those, but I imagine they are pretty unique in person. I didn't see many current posts from you, so I find myself wondering which colors you have since added.

I'm so glad this post could help you make some decisions. Tieks aren't cheap, but they're worth every penny to me!

The good thing about choosing a classic (like Ballerina Pink) is that you can clean, condition, and polish them when needed. I've got an entire post about that here: https://www.vivaveltoro.com/polish-tieks-leather-ballet-flats/

It’s been a while but here is an update! I brought my copperhead snake pair with me to Greece, wearing them on the long travel (over 22 hours due to a long layover) and I am sorry to say some of the pattern wore off within the day! The wear was along the top of the heel area. I now have a spot over my big toe on the right shoe, also worn off. I plan to reach out to customer service to see what can be done.

Due to the early wear, I was going to return my other two unworn pairs as well as the damaged copperheads.. Life was crazy though so I figured I would wear them a couple of days until I could get out and buy replacement shoes. (I’m a teacher and school was starting.) Well, it turned out those copperheads were so versatile I was wearing them almost every day! They did hurt my feet a bit by the end of the day, so I switched to an old pair of old, worn but comfortable flats I have. Well, the sole support was SO different, that didn’t last but a day! I switched back to my Tieks and wore sandals once or twice when the copperheads didn’t work with my outfit. One day I just wasn’t feeling the sandals so I decided to wear my cardinal red Tieks instead of returning them. They too hurt my feet a bit by the end of the day, in the same area as my first pair. I figured I would use a tennis ball to stretch them a bit, but I never got around to it. I realized recently that neither pair really hurts any longer so I no longer need that tennis ball...
Bottom line, I still have not worn the ballerina pink (they look much different against my skin than your pictures!) so I might exchange them for a different color. I’m thinking about cool grey, but I’m not sure how they will look with my olive skin. I could really use a neutral of some sort. I am adding azure snake for a different color palette than my copperheads. I’m not done shopping, and really came back here looking for your color comparisons again. I didn’t see cool grey vs pewter, have you done that combo?

BTW, I saw your comment about lucking out with the pattern placement on one of your patterns. I had called Tieks with a fit question, and she suggested I order another pair of copperheads to compare the pattern placement. I was glad she suggested it, as I liked the first pair but loved the second!

Sorry for the length, but you have done such a wonderful job providing so much detail I thought I would give a detailed update.

Thanks again for all the info you share!

If you have feet like mine, go up a size. I have narrow feet, a high arch and hammer toes on the second toe of both feet. I bought these for a trip to Italy and only had two weeks to break them in before leaving. I could have returned them but really wanted to take them on the trip and hoped for the best. I did walk in them but my toes hurt a lot. Thankfully, I had tennis shoes with me too. I am now wearing my Tieks around the house a lot before my next trip to stretch them. These are California Navy in a size 9. I wish I had ordered a size 10. I usually wear a 9 or 9 1/2. I'm determined to make them work because I really like them other than the toe issue. I recommend going to the next size up if you have hammer toe issues, even if your feet are narrow.

I haven't had any problems with mine (although I don't wear them a ton since I have a large rotation). I wear insoles with mine to keep them clean inside but haven't had any scuffs that need paint/polish.

I'd probably wipe RGG with a damp cloth to clean and then conditioner them with a leather conditioner as needed. I'm not sure polish would work on these with the crackled finish. I haven't had any scuffs on mine.

Hi! Thank you for the various color comparisons! I also have a growing Tieks collection (somewhere in the teens..;)). I’m currently awaiting the arrival of the camel and matte black, both in slightly used condition. I’m also waiting on a pair of fuchsia (exchange) pair.
My most recent purchase and new FAVORITE pair of Tieks are the leopard. Like you I purchased a pair of Leopard Tieks a couple of years ago and returned them because they looked and felt dry. I’m so glad I repurchased them again. I did feel guilty at first for paying that much for a pair of shoes but overcame that quickly :). They are absolutely gorgeous and so versatile.
I also have the olive now 🙂

. I’m also pretty easy on my feet. I’ve decided there are some things in life worth investing in. Shoes are something I wear everyday and comfort is a must. For me, Tieks are absolutely worth the investment.

I purchased my first pair in navy two years ago and was very impressed with the quality and customer service. I initially went with a 7 since I typically wear a 7 1/2 but after walking around in them decided to try the 8. I wear an 8 in my classics and patent Tieks.

Most of my Tieks were extremely comfortable right out of the box. I only had a slight break in period with my patents, like one or two wears and now they are just as comfortable as all my other Tieks.

My chestnut pair is my most worn pair...until I received my leopards. I’ve recently made it a point to rotate which pair I wear each week.

I have a couple more that I’m eyeing but cannot decide between the cardinal and burgundy. I’ve always loved a deep red color to accent my outfits with. I wear a lot of dark colors (black, navy and fall colors) and love black & white. I’m excited about the fuchsia pair and hope to get a lot of wear out of them :).

I did order the taupe and agree they lean more towards a brown. Such a beautiful color but may exchange them (for fuchsia) since I’m not sure I’ll wear them as much. It is a beautiful neutral though...decisions, decisions...

Again, thank you for this post and for the one about color matches for our Tieks! That is such a HUGE help and now I can keep my shoes in tip top shape.

Thanks so much for your comment! I'm glad to hear that you love your Tieks and our feet sound pretty similar.

I think Burgundy would be a perfect color to purchase now for fall. The color is really amazing. I wear my Cardinal Red more than Burgundy, but that will probably change with the seasons soon. Oh, and you should definitely get Fuchsia (if not now, then in the Spring for sure). I love the color and it matches with a lot more than you'd think.

        Thanks again for reading!

I received my fuchsia pair and I absolutely love this shade of pink! I can definitely see me wearing these often. Such a gorgeous color that will go nicely with a lot of my clothes. I’ve wanted the fuchsia pair for a long time and so glad I finally own a pair.

I would love to see a comparison of the camel and mustard if possible. I have the camel, which I love. It’s a nice subtle warm color. Just wondering if I need the mustard as well. The chocolate brown is also on my list. I don’t see many photos of them.

Maybe someday I’ll own the tortoise.....:)

Thank you again for all the photos and comparisons. It really does help. I’ve also been purchasing matching Tarrago shoe creams for every one of my classic pairs.

They will stretch if you need them too, but if your toe is at the very end, it doesn't hurt to request an exchange for the next size up to see if those might fit better.

Thank you Ruth for your thorough and insightful post on Tieks and how to choose the right pair for one’s lifestyle. I am a teacher on my feet all day and a mom of a busy kindergartener. I saw someone else’s Pinterest post on Tieks, but never read it. I just went straight to the website and was overwhelmed by all the variety of styles and colors. In a good way because I’m an art teacher. The colors that stood out to me were “sold out” and had a “wait list”. So I created an account and started wish listing a few of the classics. Then, a few days later (today) I saw your post on Pinterest and decided to read your take on Tieks. I love how informative and visual your review is and that you also did a comparison of the values of the colors (light hues vs darker hues). Do you have an art background? I’m a Florida girl too. ? Anyway, I do have few questions, is it better to order my first pair of Tieks through the Tiek company or on Amazon by another seller? Being on a teacher’s salary, I don’t ever splurge on shoes because I have big feet, size 13 and it’s hard to find quality shoes in my size. My feet grew a whole size after having a child. The places that do have quality shoes in my size are way out of my price range (like Jimmy Choo sneakers start at $500 / $600 dollars). I definitely want comfort, quality, and support in my everyday works shoes. But the Tiek shoes are not a bad price-point compared to Jimmy Choo shoes. I think it’s worth the investment and to save my feet in the long run. What are your thoughts? Do they send coupons to valued customers like yourself? I’m a bargain shopper. Thanks for your post and feedback!

Hi Dinah! Thanks for your kind words! I would definitely order directly from Tieks. That way you can return them if they don't fit. I understand wanting to grab a bargain (these don't ever go on sale or have coupons), but for your first pair, I'd buy directly from them. It's also free shipping and returns/exchanges. I hope that helps!

I am so happy I found your blog (and You Tube videos). I love the side by side comparisons, thank you so much! This is an oddly specific question, but do you happen to have a Rose Beige/Camelia Gucci Soho Disco? I'm trying to figure out the best color to match that shade. Figured it was worth asking even though I know it's a long shot.

I can't stress how helpful your side by side comparison was. I'm thinking about ordering camel. I wear a 10.5 narrow. I'm afraid 10 may not stretch a half size and 11 may be too wide. Do you think there is a size that would work for me? Is there a full refund on everything shoe, (shipping, handling, tax)?

Hi Marsha! I'm so glad the post has been helpful! I would try a size 11 and then order the 10 as an exchange so you have both side by side to compare. Exchanges are free and if you return them, it's a full refund of everything (tax included, shipping is free). Just be sure to only try them on indoors since they need to be in original condition to exchange or return.

The Love Struck or the Moonstruck. I want to wear a pair of Tieks for my wedding, but also have a pair that I would enjoy wearing afterwards. Your post is helping me once again. Thank you.

Hi Erica! It really depends on which colors you wear the most. I tend to wear a lot of jeans with black or white tops, so Cardinal Red, Fuchsia, and Leopard are probably my most worn Tieks. What do you wear the most?

I’m about to order my first pair. Wanting cardinal red but not sure if I should get the ruby red for the patent. Could you go into some detail about patent vs regular: Care, lasting, comfort, breaking in, fitting, etc. I’m not hard on shoes but I want them to last. Thanks ?

Hi Angela! The classics really mold to your feet and are super soft. Cardinal Red was my first pair and they lasted for years. I ended up getting a second pair because I wear them so often. Classics are easy to care for since you can polish scuffs with Tarrago polish and clean and condition the leather. Patents are very durable but don't quite stretch like Classics. Care is fairly easy since you just wipe them with a damp cloth if they're dirty, but you can't fix scuffs as easily if you're harder on your shoes. I'd probably try Classics first. Hope that helps!

Hi! I recently purchased my first pair of Tieks - romantic blush. I am looking to purchase a fun pop of color pair for spring/summer and will purchase a more neutral color closer to fall. For the pop of color pair, I’m debating between poppy, fusxhia and cotton candy. Can you tell me which one you like best? I wear lots of colorful clothes during the spring/summer, including Lilly Pulitzer clothing. I found I actually have more spring/summer clothes with the poppy color than fuschia but I’m thinking maybe fuschia would be more versatile for year round? And cotton candy probably matches with more of my Lilly stuff than the other colors but I’m worried it’s too similar to my romantic blush in terms of being neutral. Also I’ve heard the patents aren’t as comfortable as the classics. I’d love your input! I’m only planning to get one pair right now.

The next pair I get will probably be a darker neutral pair closer to fall. I’m debating between wild copper, metallic bronze, love struck, drago, leopard and tortoise shell. For wild copper, I’m worried they’re too similar to romantic blush. Metallic bronze im worried the metallic finish will show too much toe under the shoe box LOL. Love struck I’ve heard is very delicate and I’ve seen where the finish rubs off at the toe area. Drago is super pretty but I tend to wear more brown/tan based clothes than black/gray - not sure if that will matter. Finally leopard and tortoise shell, love the animal print but worried they won’t be versatile enough. I’ve heard the tortoise shell are not as comfortable. I have a pair of Keds leopard print flats that I wear with leggings and hoodies/sweatshirts for casual wear and a pair of pointy toe leopard flats so maybe another pair of leopard flats is overkill?

That was a lot! Anyway I really appreciate your help!!!!

Hi Jessica! I agree that Cotton Candy is very similar in coloring to Romantic Blush. I wear Fuchsia a ton (in fact, I have two pairs that I rotate). I don't wear Poppy as often since it's more of a coral and a little harder to match. Pop Pink also goes very well with Lilly and it matches most of my Lilly dresses, but it is very bright. I also wear Metallic Gold with a lot of Lilly.

For fall, I'd go with Leopard. They are very versatile and match most things (at least I think so). Here's a styling post: https://www.vivaveltoro.com/tieks-leopard-print-ballet-flats/

Are you a different size in patent vs classic styles? I’ve heard the patent doesn’t stretch like the classics. I just bought my first pair of patent and they fit like my classics do after breaking them in. I just don’t want them to stretch and then be too big.

I am torn about size. Since half sizes aren't available I don't know if a 9 would be too short and a 10 too big? Sometimes I buy a 9.5, but rarely. I have never purchased a 10, so I am wondering which size to order.
I love the comparisons you have shown. I am a S. Florida resident, and wear a lot of Lily colors

I would start with a 9. Tieks has a great return/exchange policy with free shipping so you can always put in an exchange for a 10 if they feel a little snug and you want to compare them side by side. Just be sure you don't wear them outside or for a prolonged period of time if you need to return/exchange.
