Fall is quickly coming to a close in Minnesota, which means winter is on her way in. While I do love Christmas and celebrating my birthday, winter also gets very long and can be awfully cold here. This year I decided to make a winter bucket list to give us some things to look forward to as we head into this chilly season! I've partnered with Bogs to share our winter bucket list and a look at some of their cold weather boots for kids.
We're still relishing in the last few days of fall, but the temps are already getting colder and we can feel it when we play outside! Since some days are warmer than others in Minnesota, our winter bucket list includes both outdoor an indoor activities. You can click on the graphic below to save this bucket list for printing.

Bogs Footwear for Kids
As you can imagine, our kids are pretty excited for winter. They LOVE the snow despite the cold, and we're working on getting them all geared up. The main priority every year is boots, and this year we turned to Bogs because we love their footwear. Their boots are 100% waterproof from top to bottom, and the handles make it easy for kids to pull them on and off.
Constructed with 7mm Neo-Tech waterproof insulation, these boots are comfort rated down to -30°F/-34°C. During the frigid Minnesota winter, where below zero temps are not unusual, it's necessary to have great footwear like Bogs to protect little toes! While we generally try to stay indoors on those super cold days, sometimes we have gymnastics, dance, or homeschool co-op and don't have a choice. On those days, the extra comfort rating will be appreciated!
For most outdoor play in winter, we try to only go out when it's at least above zero. I personally prefer when it's over 30°F but the kids are heartier than I am! On those days, their feet might even get sweaty (that's when you know you have a good boot!) but luckily Bogs are outfitted with DuraFresh natural bio-technology to fight odors. Plus, their Max-Wick evaporates sweat to keep feet dry.
With a non-marking and self-cleaning outsole, Bogs Boots are built to last and continue looking good for years. I love that the sole is patterned with a non-slip grip to make walking on icy ground that much easier. Now that our kids are little older, they are pretty brave on the ice but that doesn't mean they're very coordinated! I appreciate the grip that keeps them upright more often than not.
Which Bogs Boots did our kids choose?
Harper went with the Classic Rainbow Boots in Pink which was no surprise. They're also available in light blue and purple, but our girl is going on three years with the favorite color pink. She's into kid sizes now and I love that Bogs has a variety of sizes print options for all tastes!
Lincoln had his fair share of options to choose from, and went with the Classic Maze Print in Gray. He's a true adventurer, even in winter, and he loves wearing his new boots to splash in puddles. While we did get a little dusting of snow last week, it didn't last long. That doesn't keep him from playing outside in the falling leaves!
Last week we had a homeschool co-op field trip to a local arboretum. Our chilly morning started off at 30°F which was a big drop from the 60°F weather we're used to! We outfitted the kids in their new Bogs boots, snowpants, and winter jackets. Honestly, I prepared myself for the complaints about being cold, but they never came. The kids stayed warm and dry in their Bogs and we all had a great time learning about seeds with our homeschool group. Bogs continue to be our go-to footwear option year-round.
Over the years we've had their waterproof fall boots, kids' rain boots, and even adult winter boots, and we've loved every pair. Make sure you check out their collections as we head into the winter months! And don't forget to save and print our winter bucket list, or make your own!
