Fall is one of my favorite times of year to get outside with our kids. It's a relief after the hot summer weather and fall clothes are just oh-so-cute! Give me all the sweaters and hot chocolate and boots! Speaking of boots, I've partnered with Bogs to share some of the boots from their new fall line. These Bogs boots for kids have been perfect for our little ones over the past month and we've got a pair to GIVE!
This past weekend we went to a local farm with all kinds of activities for families, and we had a great time. Our kids love to be outside but one thing we struggle with in the fall is footwear. It's not cold enough for winter boots, but it's a little chilly for shoes, especially when it's wet outside. Luckily we found Bogs waterproof fall boots for our kids, and they've been the perfect alternative!
When we visited this local farm, the kids wore their new Bogs boots. It ended up being a fairly chilly, windy day and it also rained on and off. Luckily, our kids' feet stayed dry and warm with their new boots! The adorable farm we went to had tons of fall activities in one location, and we took advantage of all of them despite the weather.
Apple Picking
Apple picking is one of our favorite fall activities. Some places have pick your own apples, and some pre-pick for you but you can still walk through the orchards and check out all of the varieties. Our kids LOVE eating apples (and pie!) so we had to walk the orchard and get some of our favorites.
Eat Tasty Fall Treats
We always have to buy a big bag of kettle corn in the fall, because it's a treat our whole family enjoys. Along with kettle corn, we usually get apple pies or crisp, hot chocolate, and hot soup! I think we ate probably half of this bag while we were at the farm, because it was so tasty.
Play in the Hay
Fall in Minnesota brings harvesting of all the crops, and there are hay bales everywhere you look. We've been to a few farms this fall and every one has a giant hay tower to climb. Hay slides and tunnels seem to be a favorite too, and our kids always go home with lots of hay in their hair and clothes! This farm even had a hay maze set up for the kids which was super fun.
Corn Maze
It's not fall in Minnesota without a trip to a corn maze! Our kids had a blast weaving through this corn maze, though it was HUGE and they got a little tired of running into dead ends after awhile. Luckily, my husband is great with directions (which is good, because I am NOT) and he was able to navigate us out of the maze with no trouble!
Pick Pumpkins for Carving
We love carving pumpkins and always buy them from a local pumpkin patch or farm. It's fun to watch the kids pick out their favorites, along with some squash and corn to decorate our house. Later we carve them and put them on our deck as jack-o-lanterns!
Explore
Finally, we just love to let the kids explore when we go to local farms in the fall. This particular farm had a bunch of slides, a little garden and kids' cafe set up in the woods, multiple climbing surfaces, and a giant corn pit. Our kids had a blast and played for hours!
Bogs Boots for Kids
Despite the chilly weather and occasional sprinkles, they didn't complain about the cold or getting wet. This is a big deal, because our daughter is notorious for complaining about being cold! I really think the lack of grumbling had to do with the warm waterproof Bogs boots they were wearing. Check out more features of these awesome boots below!
Bogs Samantha Boots
Our daughter wears Bogs' Samantha boots in Eggplant. I just think these boots are so cute! They're made of a waterproof suede and durable rubber toe guard, so they hold up to the weather and rigorous play. The Samantha style comes in Eggplant, Chocolate, and Black!
Our daughter is four and has no problem getting the boots on herself with the hook and loop closures. They have a super soft plush lining which is great for those cool fall days before winter hits hard.
The Samantha boots also have a shock absorbing cushion which makes them great for busy kids (which mine are!). They'd be perfect for chilly or wet recess days if your kids are in school. They also contain DuraFresh biotechnology to fight unwanted odors!
Bogs Sammy Boots
Our little man sports Bogs' Sammy boots in black, which are very similar to the Samantha style! One main difference is the single hook and loop closure which is easier for little hands.
With the same suede upper and rubber sole, these withstand all the climbing and puddle-splashing our little guy gets into. They come in black or tan and I feel like they can be dressed up or down.
The Sammy style also comes with the Rebound midsole for lasting comfort, EverDry lining with MaxWick to evaporate sweat. Even though he's a toddler, our little man's feet sweat and can get stinky! I love that the boots won't get smelly since they have the DuraFresh technology.
Both the Samantha and Sammy styles have nice rubber grips on the bottom for climbing and playing. They are great for all of our outdoor fall needs, even when it's cold or wet here in Minnesota (which is most of the time!).
You can purchase Bogs boots from their website or from Amazon!
