Our little guy just turned three (HOW!?) and we celebrated with a fun PJ Masks birthday party. Check out the PJ Masks supplies we found and some of our DIY birthday party ideas!
It honestly feels like just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with Lincoln. Somehow the three years since he was born have completely flown by, and my chubby, ten pound baby is stretching into a big preschooler! He's our last baby, so I've been trying to cherish the time as he gets older. He's more of a handful than his sister, and the two of them give me a run for my money most days! But lately it's also been so fun to watch them play and get imaginative together. It's amazing to see how creative and entertaining they can be! Lincoln is really into the Disney Junior show PJ Masks right now, and he wanted a PJ Masks party this year.
PJ Masks Party Supplies
I started out with a PJ Masks Party Pack from Amazon that came with the wall decoration and a bunch of mask props for a photo booth. Next, I bought the happy birthday banner and balloons from Wal Mart, where they did have a small selection of PJ Masks party items as well.
I also bought a PJ Masks table decor set that included the three standing pieces as well as a tablecloth that we used in the kitchen. The set also came with tiny cardboard masks which I taped to each child's favor bag. I bought a giant bag of peanut butter M&Ms and separated out the blue, red, and green. I put those in dollar store double shot glasses for people to help themselves to during the party! The cake is from our local bakery, and I put our PJ Masks character toys on top.
Similar to our Trolls party last year, I made slime and little individual PJ Masks glitter slime jars for the kids to take home. I printed the characters and cut around them, then taped them to the jar. We found the glitter glue at Target and Wal-Mart, but you can also purchase it from Amazon. I used old baby food jars that I'd washed out to hold the slime!
Each child got a favor bag to take home, containing PJ Masks tattoos, hero capes, and organic fruit snacks. I bought the bags from the dollar store and printed the labels at home! Then I added the little cardboard cutouts from the party pack.
PJ Masks Party Games and Activities
Since the kids attending Lincoln's party are pretty young, we just did a couple simple activities before cake and gifts. I made a "pin the mask on Catboy" sign with poster board from the dollar store. It's not my best work (ha!) but I was running short on time and for a group of 1-5 year olds it worked great. I also printed pictures of Lincoln from the past year and made them into a number three!
After playing pin the mask, the kids all sat down to make their very own superhero masks. I cut these out of felt from Wal Mart, and tied jute twine on each side so they could be adjusted depending on the child's head size. I bought some affordable decorations like glitter glue, washi tape, feathers, and stickers so the kids could personalize their masks.
PJ Masks Party Food
After games it was time for some food and cake! In the kitchen, I set up the night skyline similar to one shown in PJ Masks. I bought two pieces of black poster board from the dollar store and bent it back and forth, cutting out roof lines. Then I cut up post it notes to look like windows. It was a super cheap project that turned out pretty cute!
I also designed and printed water bottle labels using PicMonkey.com. There were also quite a few options available on Etsy if DIY isn't your thing!
All in all, our PJ Masks party was a hit! I think the kids really enjoyed themselves and I had so much fun planning this party too. It was fairly easy to find the PJ Masks party supplies locally and from Amazon, and the color scheme was simple with the main characters being blue, green, and red. I can't wait to see what Lincoln picks as his party theme next year!
Our daughter Harper is turning six in May and she has yet to decide on a theme. Some ideas she's throwing around are unicorns, mermaids, and a pink and gold theme. I'll keep you posted on what she decides, as I'm sure I'll enjoy planning another party in a few months! Check out a few of our other party posts for more inspiration.
