Berry Banana Smoothie Recipe
I love smoothies in the morning. It's one of the best ways to start the day since you're eating clean right from the get-go. This berry banana smoothie recipe is one of my favorites! I love the combination of sweet from the berries and tang from the orange juice.
Ever since I was introduced to Blendtec, I've been obsessed with making smoothies. I was a little too ambitious right out of the gate and started with kale... that was a mistake since I didn't really know how to use my new blender and ended up with a fibrous mixture that didn't go down easily . I've since gone back to basics and I'm loving the results. Today, I want to share with you one of my very favorite smoothie recipes - in fact, this is how I start my morning on most days... after my two cups of coffee... not quite ready to shake coffee just yet. This berry banana smoothie is SO SO SO easy to make, and the ingredients are basic. It's a great way to ease into smoothies.
Here's what you'll need to make your own berry banana smoothie:
- 1 cup of frozen mixed berries (I love a mixture of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries - but that's up to you)
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 scoop of Blendfresh Red - totally optional (although, it's fabulous).
Add your ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth. For a variation to this recipe, my husband uses low fat milk and a little sweetener since he doesn't care for orange juice. Either way, it's yummy!
That's it! Super easy and super tasty! It's really a perfect start to my morning.
You'll pretty much meet your minimum of the USDA recommended allotment of fruits and vegetables (5-13 servings per day for adults) with just this smoothie alone, but I love the addition of Blendfresh Red for the added nutrients and variety of ingredients. It's composed of organic apple, beet juice, red pear, strawberry, organic beet, raspberry, cranberry, organic acerola fruit juice, pomegranate juice, red pepper, rhubarb, prickly pear, tomato, and cherry juice. Best part is that it tastes GOOD too!

Nom nom nom! I use a Vitamix and blend just about anything into a smoothie. It's also how I add veggies into my son's diet under the disguise of a "peanut butter smoothie".

WOW! That Smoothie sounds Delicious!!! I've never heard of Blendfresh red. I see that I can purchase it through online, however, I was wondering if there were somewhere else I can purchase it from. Like a health store or maybe in the "all natural" isles of the grocery store. It just seems like a great way for me to get my veggies that way! If I hide them in a smoothie like that, and don't taste them, then I'm Okey Dokey! Thanks for the recipe! I really want to try it! I'll be thinking about it until I can finally get to a grocery store to pick up some fruit! Thanks again, Michele 🙂
