    Simple Green Smoothie Recipe

Start your day with a simple green smoothie that actually tastes good! This green smoothie uses a combination of kale, pineapple and mango for just the right amount of flavor and sweetness.

Simple Green SmoothieThe very day that I got my Blendtec Express Pro Blender, I went out and bought some kale and attempted to make one of those delicious green smoothies I saw all over Pinterest. I mean, how hard could it be, right? Well... let me put it this way - it turned out less than palatable. I didn't really know how to work the blender so I ended up with fibrous chunks of Kale and just didn't get the flavors right (at all!). Fast forward several weeks and I've finally done it! I made a really, really good and SIMPLE green smoothie.

    Green-Smoothie-Ingredients

This smoothie is packed with fruits and veggies, so you'll end up getting at least 6 servings of fruits/veggies (adults should be shooting for 5-13 servings per day per USDA guidelines). Feel free to swap out ingredients and mix it up! If you can't find kale, try Swiss chard, collards, or spinach. If you don't like pineapples or mangos, try a different fruit.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups of kale (densely packed into a measuring cup)
    • 12 ounces of coconut water (you can use regular water if you'd like)
    • ½ cup of frozen pineapple
    • ½ cup of frozen mango (you could do 1 cup of mango if you don't like pineapple)
    • 1 scoop of Blendfresh Green (optional, but a fantastic addition)

    Directions:

Add your kale and water to the blender. Blend for 30 seconds until smooth. I use a Blendtec Express Pro on the "smoothie" profile setting and it comes out perfect.

Next, add your frozen fruit and scoop of Blendfresh Green. Blend for another 20-30 seconds.

    Serve and enjoy!

Oh this looks DELISH! I need to get back into making smoothies for myself and I definitely want my girls to start drinking them to get the veggies that they don't eat daily. Blendfresh sounds perfect for that!

I have wanted to try the smoothie with kale. My sister said she liked it too. Any tips on getting the kale to blend?

This looks great. I might even get my husband to drink it with the pineapple in it

Wow! Hard to believe that a blender can cost $1500.00! This is very extravagant IMO, and I believe that one could spend WAY less, and still find a very functional blender to do the same job!

Agreed - $1500 is quite steep, but it's a powerful machine! I'm really enjoying it, but the Blendtec Express is a great option too. You also get a big discount if you subscribe to Blendfresh products.

I have no idea what Kale is and I don't know if I would really like it. Even though the other ingredients sound terrific! It looks good! I Guess you have to try it to know! Thanks for the recipe and for sharing it with all of us! I appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂
