It's Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary this year, and it starts today! If you've followed the blog for awhile, you know that we're big Disney fans and you can bet we plan to visit during the 18 month anniversary celebration. One of my favorite things about Disney is dressing the kids up so they can be fully immersed in the magical experience. I've got the best Disney outfits to share with you! We're planning a trip for early February but with Halloween right around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to partner with Little Adventures to share some of their dress-ups which are perfect for wearing to Disney World AND as costumes for one of our favorite holidays.
Disney Outfits from Past Years
Now before I get into our new outfits, I wanted to remind you of how tiny my kids were the first time we tried Little Adventures dress-ups! We had a princess dress-up party with friends and it was SO adorable and an absolute blast. Harper wore those princess dresses for years and we passed them on to our sweet neighbor girl when she outgrew them. She also wore some of them to Disney the first time we went, and she felt so special when the princesses and fellow guests complimented her. Meeting her favorite princesses (Elena and Merida) while wearing dresses to match them was one of her favorite parts of our trip!
Meeting Princesses Wearing our Favorite Disney Outfits
Last year Harper decided she wanted to be a mermaid for Halloween so I turned right back to Little Adventures! I was excited to find outfits for both her and our son Lincoln, and I shared all about those comfortable dress-ups in this post. She made an adorable mermaid and so did her doll, Jojo!
It's crazy how much our kids have grown in just one year, but with Halloween around the corner and our Disney trip coming up after that, I decided it was time to reach out to Little Adventures for a few new items. I recently heard about their Twirl Dresses and I knew immediately they'd be right up Harper's alley. The girl is in ballet and LOVES to twirl all day long-no exaggeration. These twirl dresses are incredible for spinning and are also a great option for kids who feel like they may be getting "too old" for traditional dress-ups.

Disney Outfits with Twirling Power
I wish I could say that capturing dress twirling was easy, but it's not! We did get this one good twirl out of about fifty (good thing she doesn't get dizzy!) but trust me when I say that the dress looks amazing when she spins. This is the Alpine Twirl Dress featuring a traditional Scandinavian tulip on the bodice and bright colors that definitely remind us of Frozen 2! By the way, anyone else bawl through the entire "Show Yourself" song and scene? Maybe it's just because I have a strong-willed daughter but it hit me right in the feels. Anyway, back to this adorable dress! It's made of a stretchy, soft-knit fabric and I have no doubt that Harper can wear it around Disney for a full day and remain comfortable.
It was pretty fun heading to our local park and finding places to take these pictures. Harper wanted to choose locations that really "fit" each character and we had a blast with that. Sometimes taking photos can be like pulling teeth, but not this time! When it came to our favorite book-loving princess, Belle, this crazy large bike seemed like something her dad would have designed and built, doesn't it!?
No Scratchy Fabrics on These Disney Outfits!
This Yellow Beauty Twirl Dress is one of my absolute favorites from the whole collection. The sweet ruffled collar and hem bring a softness to the dress, and the red rose couldn't be more fitting. And you can bet it looks amazing when Harper twirls! One thing I love about Little Adventures dress-ups is that they're all made for comfort; that means no scratchy fabrics, no glitter, and they're easy to get on and off. Also, they're machine washable! You really can't beat that.
Remember that scene in The Little Mermaid where Ariel is staring longingly at Prince Eric through a porthole on the ship? Harper HAD to recreate that moment, though she prefers the second Little Mermaid movie over the first (blasphemy!). Ariel was my favorite Disney princess when I was little so you can bet I'm in love with this dress. The ruffled hem and shimmery mermaid scale print on the skirt are perfection and the seashell on the purple bodice leaves no guesses to which princess this dress is made for. The Mermaid Twirl Dress is adorable and I can't wait for Harper to wear it in Ariel's Grotto at WDW - we are hoping more character interactions are back by the time our trip comes but we will see!
Disney Outfits That are Also Perfect for Playing at the Park
When it comes to the 'new' Disney princesses, Rapunzel is up at the top of my list for favorites. Not only is the music in Tangled SO catchy, I love the storyline and ending. The Rapunzel Twirl Dress has a classic lace-up design on the bodice but it's sewn in so you don't have to worry about snagging or the laces coming undone. The colors are classic and just like the dress Rapunzel wears in the movie - and it's perfect for twirling!
Since we're headed to Disney World at the beginning of February, we expect that mornings will still be chilly but that it will get pretty warm mid-day. While we could pack sweatshirts (and probably will bring some), a cloak feels a lot more magical AND it's functional too. This adorable Pink Cloak from Little Adventures makes the perfect addition to any of the twirl dresses and will keep Harper warm while also keeping her in character!
Keeping a Bit Warmer in Disney Outfits
This next Twirl Dress that we picked might be a little surprising after all these princess dresses. That's right, the Astro Twirl Dress pays homage to one of our Toy Story favorites, Buzz Lightyear! It was just this year, with the release of Toy Story 4, that my kids really got into the series of movies and we've watched them so many times now. Hollywood Studios has the epic Toy Story Land and the Astro Twirl Dress will be perfect to wear on the Alien Swirling Saucers and Slinky Dog Dash!
Toy Story Disney Outfits
This bodice on this dress has printed buttons and design for interstellar communications - to infinity and beyond!
One of my favorite memories of our first trip to Disney World was eating breakfast at Cinderella's Castle. Though I'm sure the experience looks a bit different right now, we're hoping to snag a reservation on our next trip. Lincoln still lights up when he sees the castle at the beginning of Disney movies and says "we ate there!" so the cost is worth it in my opinion! The Cinderella Twirl Dress and Cinderella Accessory Set will be the perfect attire for the occasion, and you can bet that Harper (who says "I'm almost a teenager!" on the daily) is psyched about the choker necklace.
The Perfect Disney Outfits for Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table
This dress is so pretty, classic and (of course) also great for twirling! But if Harper got an outfit for the castle breakfast and Lincoln didn't, he would probably be pretty bummed. This brings me to some of the super fun dress-up options from Little Adventures aside from princesses! The Prince Charming Set is one of the most adorable outfits I could imagine for Lincoln.
Side note: no, my children do not ever wear shoes, ha! Anyway, how cute is this whole ensemble!? I just love my little prince! The set comes with a blue knit top with printed gold regal pattern, gold trim, and a high neck collar as well as a pair of black pants with golden stripes down each leg. I would imagine that if Cinderella sees Lincoln in this outfit he's going to get the royal treatment, even if it's from six feet away!
As you can see, wearing dress-ups doesn't keep our kids from climbing all over everything - mostly because Little Adventures outfits are so easy to move around in! It's a good thing I can throw them in the washing machine because I can guarantee they're going to see some wear and tear.
If you're looking for another sibling costume option, the pirate dress-ups from Little Adventures are perfect! Harper is wearing the Pirate Dress with Bandana and Lincoln has the Pirate Captain Set. We happen to have a pirate ship playground nearby and the kids said we HAD to go there so they could wear their costumes and play like true pirates.
Little Adventures Pirate Outfits
While we haven't introduced them to Pirates of the Caribbean yet, the ride at Disney World is one of their favorites and I bet they'll have a blast wearing these costumes on it. They might wear these for Halloween this year too because they're really into fighting with their Little Adventures Pirate Swords! It's amazing how dress-ups bring out so much creativity and imagination.
Speaking of imagination, this Dragon Cape & Sword Set brings out so many fun ideas in my five year old. He's always been more inclined to play on his own (whereas his sister would like to play with someone else at all times) so he took off wearing this cape with his sword down our walking trail and played for quite awhile.
Adventure Dress-Ups
The sword is made of foam (like the pirate swords) so you don't have to worry about kids hitting too hard. The cape fits ages 3-8 so we'll have it for at least a few more years, and it pairs really well with the Green Dragon Cloak that Lincoln also picked out this time around!
This awesome cloak is green and covered in black dragon scales (there are other color options too!) and gold foam spikes run over the head and down the back. It's got a hook and loop closure which is easy for kids to manipulate on their own, and just like all other Little Adventures dress-ups, it's machine washable.
I've got one last item to share and it's one of my favorites! We are a huge Star Wars fan family, and this Galactic Warrior Cloak will be perfect for a day in Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios. It can keep Lincoln warm in the morning and give him a little shade when it gets warmer in the afternoon. He's always trying to "use the force" like his favorite Star Wars character Baby Yoda!
