Halloween is just around the corner! Though today we got 5+ inches of snow in Minnesota so it feels like much later in the year. What are your plans for Halloween? Will your kids go trick-or-treating or do you have something different planned for 2020? Our kids are so excited to dress up (and not just on Halloween!). We turned to Little Adventures for costumes, and I've partnered with them to share some of our favorites plus offer you a discount and the chance to win a gift card!
Little Adventures Halloween Dress-Ups
Our daughter decided months ago that she wanted to be a mermaid for Halloween this year, and since I follow Little Adventures I saw that they recently came out with the adorable Purple Sparkle Mermaid Dress and matching doll dress! Harper is absolutely loving her dolls lately so it was a no-brainer to order her the dress and doll outfit too.
How adorable is this design!? We couldn't believe how bright and bold the colors are, and the design is exactly the same for both dresses to allow for the cutest twinning! Harper may have to wear her snowsuit under the dress since it seems mother nature is not going to let up on the cold/snow before Halloween, but she doesn't even care. She's just thrilled to have a pretty mermaid dress!
Since she's outgrown all of Little Adventures dress-ups from a couple years ago, we decided to add to our collection with a few more fun princess products!
Rapunzel is one of our favorite princess movies (and it's full of laughs for both kids and adults!), so the Classic Rapunzel Dress was another quick pick from our seven-year-old. The details on this dress are just gorgeous, from the swirls on the skirt to the criss-cross ribbons on the bodice. One of my favorite things about Little Adventures Dress-Ups is that they're machine washable too, so when Harper suggested she paint like Rapunzel, I wasn't worried about the dress getting ruined at all.
The Rapunzel Headband is just one of the adorable accessories Little Adventures has to offer!
While Harper hasn't seen the new live-action Mulan (maybe when she's a little older) she still loves the Disney version. When she saw the Cherry Blossom Princess Dress she added it to her wish list.
Mulan is such a strong and fierce female character and I love that Harper looks up to her. This dress is SO beautiful too, with the cherry blossom details and the bell sleeves. We paired it with one of our Little Adventures Hoop Skirts for some fullness! We love Little Adventures because unlike other costumes, there's no scratchy material or mesh that makes kids uncomfortable after a short period of wear.
The final outfit we picked for Harper is the Ice Queen Coronation Dress, based on Harper's current favorite leading lady! You can imagine that with our snowfall today, Harper had to take these photos outdoors because she was so excited. With a Norwegian print along the skirt and bodice and braided gold trim, it's a dress fit for a true queen! We paired it with the Ice Princess Gloves for the full effect.
As you can imagine, I'm sure we'll be seeing this dress a lot over the next few months! Elsa is another strong and fierce female character and I see so many of her attributes in Harper. I can't wait to see who she grows up to be, though I hope she slows down a bit because time goes too quickly as it is! Last time we ordered Little Adventures dress-ups, our son Lincoln was just a baby; now he's almost five and he loves to play pretend with his big sister. We had fun picking out some adventure and villain outfits for him, too!
How adorable is this Peter Pan Set!? I can't get over how sweet Lincoln looks in it. He's almost five and I ordered him the 5-7 size so he has a little room to grow. I love that the pants cinch at the bottom like joggers and that there are no difficult zippers or buttons to frustrate tiny fingers. Even though these things are important for development, the last thing we need on fun dress-ups is extra work, in my opinion! Plus, I love that he can get himself dressed and undressed without help.
He loves the little hat with a feather and suggested that we watch Peter Pan together as a family movie tonight because he's so excited about his costume!
We're a family who loves sci-fi, and when we saw the amazing cloaks Little Adventures offered, we got so excited! Our goal is to eventually do Star Wars Halloween family costumes, and either one of the next two dress-ups will work for Lincoln depending on whether he wants to be a rebel or on the dark side.
This is the Galactic Villain Cloak and I'm so impressed by the quality and the details. Plus, the way it fits, especially the hood, makes it look so authentic! While I generally prefer the rebel alliance, I have to admit that this villain cloak is awesome. If you prefer your kiddo to be a rebel or a jedi though, the Galactic Warrior Cloak is a perfect option!
If you couldn't tell, Lincoln is using the force on me in the photo above, and boy would I be terrified to see what he'd get away with if he really had that power, ha! Just like the dresses, these cloaks are machine washable and have a hook and loop closure to adjust for size and age.
Chewbacca had to join us for photos because Lincoln loves him so much!
The final outfit we picked for Lincoln is this adorable Royal Ice Master Set! Frozen II was a HUGE hit with our kids (and, not gonna lie, I love it too) and we've watched the original and the sequel many, many times. We even have the soundtracks in our van! This little set is so adorable, from the faux fur trim to the adjustable red belt.
We had to take some photos out in the snow (of course) and then taste the fresh snow too (also of course, ha!)! I'm so excited to see what kinds of stories our kids will act out in their new Little Adventures Dress-Ups, and I love that the brand offers such affordable, comfortable, and machine washable outfits for kids! These work great for Halloween or just every day pretend play. Plus, if you're looking for holiday gifts, these dress-ups are sure to please anyone on your list. The best part is, they hold up over time unlike other costumes. We actually just passed Harper's size 3-5 costumes on to our neighbor's daughter because they're still in perfect shape over three years later!
