Up for a little Pandora Disney World fun? Pandora The World of Avatar is the newest attraction at Disney World's Animal Kingdom and I've got all the details on the must-visit rides.
Our family recently got an invitation to visit Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney World's Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom has always been a family favorite, and I knew Pandora wouldn't disappoint. Our whole day at the park was amazing and I wanted to share some of the highlights with you. If you've got young kids and are worried the World of Avatar will be over their heads, you're in for a surprise!
Pandora Disney World Experience - The World of Avatar
When we got the invitation to attend an event at Pandora - The World of Avatar, I was so excited to head to Disney World with my family! Our kids are still too young to watch Avatar, but Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite Disney parks and I've heard the new attractions are amazing. From our experience, they did not disappoint!
Rides and Attractions at Pandora - The World of Avatar
The two newest rides at Disney's Animal Kingdom are both in Pandora, and we (of course!) had to go on both! The Flight of Passage was just incredible. If you've ever ridden Soarin' at Epcot, it's along the same vein but even more amazing! Our son went on it THREE times - and to think, I figured he'd be scared of it!
The other new ride is Na'vi River Journey, which is a breathtaking experience. It's for guests of all ages and you ride on a large boat through Pandora. The bio-luminescent plant life and music transport you into another world, and our whole family loved it.
Now, one thing I would suggest is getting FastPass+ for each of these rides, because they're new and everyone wants to give them a try! The wait time wasn't terrible for these rides early in the morning but by mid-day it was getting up there.
The Valley of Mo'ara is a gorgeous walk-through area in Pandora that contains shopping and dining. It's also home to Na'vi cultural artifacts and exotic plant-life!
Food at Pandora - The World of Avatar
If you have a chance to dine in Pandora, the Satu'li Canteen has an inspired menu. If you're looking for something different from the typical counter service restaurants at Disney, this is for you! Plus, take in some of the local drinks too-you'll love them!
Family Attractions at Animal Kingdom
Along with the new and incredible World of Avatar, Animal Kingdom houses some of the best entertainment for families that Disney World has to offer. We could easily spend more than a day at this single park, but here are some of our favorite attractions.
Animal Kingdom - Tree of Life
It wouldn't be a trip to Animal Kingdom without a photo by the Tree of Life! The intricate designs in the trunk are amazing from all sides, and if you haven't seen it lit up at night, make sure you stay at least one evening so you can experience that!
Animal Kingdom - Learning Experiences
You'll find tons of learning experiences throughout Animal Kingdom Park! This trip, our son was enthralled by the various skulls and he couldn't believe he could actually touch them!
Another family favorite is the Kilimanjaro Safari. Hop on a guided tour of the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and learn about the animals you see as you go! We partake in the safari every time we visit Animal Kingdom and I swear we see different animals each time!
Animal Kingdom - Festival of the Lion King
This is the first time we've experienced the Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom, but it definitely won't be the last. Not only was it an incredible show, but we got hand-picked to sit in the front row and to take in some of the magic firsthand as we got to meet the cast!
Check out our son growling like a lion! I'm sure this is going to be an experience he talks about for a LONG time.
Meeting the cast was just amazing. I've been saying we need an updated family photo for awhile, and when will I EVER have a family photo like this taken again!? The cast from Festival of the Lion King were all so gracious and it was an incredible experience to meet them after watching their show!
We had the BEST time at Animal Kingdom and can't wait for our next trip back to Disney World! Our kids can't stop talking about all the fun they had.
