Can I just tell you how completely head over heels I am for my little infant? I've loved all of my babies almost too much to bear, but there is something different about having my first daughter, and I feel like there is a bond between us like nothing else. This mother-daughter relationship is something so special, and I want to preserve and strengthen and cherish it! I have a wonderful relationship with my own mother and when I was little, I loved everything we had similar, be that hairstyle or dress fabric! My heart is just beaming over my first "Mother/Daughter" thing I can to share with my own daughter: minky blankets from Minky Couture!

I picked out the Secret Garden in Silver for Baby B and I just fell in love with the Moroccan Tiffany Blue blanket! You're probably already familiar with minky fabric - that buttery oh-so-soft fabric that is just perfect for baby blankets. Minky Couture uses minky in all of their beautiful blankets, using coordinating colors, fun prints, and satin ruffles to further make them unique and into a little work of art.
The first thing you'll notice when you pick up one of these blankets is that they are much thicker and heavier than the standard baby blanket. Premium minky of the finest quality has been used. It is thick, durable, and just as soft as ever. The satin edges really bring it all together nicely, and the way it has been ruffled or gathered is unique and beautiful.
Every blanket is hand made in the US by a skilled seamstress. Being a seamstress myself and from my point of view, I can tell you that these blankets are very well-constructed with fine attention to detail. You'll be glad to know that these are durable enough for the washing machine (because goodness knows they will get a LOT of washings!), but remember to tumble dry on low and do not use fabric softener.
What makes Minky Couture more than just a blanket company is that they make their blankets in so many different sizes! All of my kids are quite attached to their blankies and I feel like I had a role in choosing which one would be their favorite. I simply started letting them sleep with the "chosen" blankie from before they could remember, so that as infants, they started associating comfort with the blanket always near them. I made sure to pick blankets that I wouldn't mind seeing around the house for the next few years, as well as something that would be able to withstand hundreds of washings! As for MY blanket, I couldn't feel more pampered in this! It is just SO SOFT!!! Surrounding yourself in an adult-size blanket made of the softest minky on earth is like a glimpse of heaven. No matter how old you are, you never grow out of the need to be warm, snuggled, and oh so comfortable, whether that be on a cold night, a movie night, or especially on a sick day. I have a small obsession with this Tiffany Blue color lately and it keeps showing up in projects and outfits lately. I saw this Tiffany Blue Blanket in the shop, and it just sang to me! I don't have a favorite. I really love them and would live surprises. When I visited their website some nice, most neutral blankets I liked were mint creme Brulee, garden bouque, grapefruit, damask creme milk, earth stone,and the Jaclyn ones. They all are great fabric and design. I love them so much, My son has his blanket he still loves from birth, and 5his next baby due soon will hopefully have a soft minky blanket they'll love.
