    T-Fal Ultraglide Iron Review

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

I am serious about my iron. I do seamstress work for clients, I sew clothes and accessories for myself and my kids, and I seem to always have a home decor project I'm working on. Between my husband and I, our iron is used literally every day, and with that kind of usage, it has got to be high performance and dependable! I do not want to have to fight with my iron to get good results! We were thrilled to be able to try out the T-Fal Ultraglide Iron and see how it compared to our current iron. After all, if we could be getting better results in half the time, it would definitely be worth trying!

At no cost to facilitate this review, we were sent the T-fal FV4495 Ultraglide Iron, and we're happy to report that it has definitely met our expectations for an iron with useful features, easy to use functionality, and high performance results. Compared to the top 20 competitors, this iron is ranked #1 in "glideability" and speed so that your ironing chores are quick and effortless.

    t-fal 4

There are quite a few features on this iron that make this a winner and a keeper. The first would be the unique ceramic soleplate that is non-stick, scratch-resistant, and is 100% mineral enriched with quartz. The steam output is powerful (100g/min), streaming from 64 steam holes -- 27 large holes and 37 microholes for the optimal steam performance with anti-drip technology. The pointed tip is ideal for pressing corner, pleats, and seams, and the extra large heel offers greater stability.

I love the 12-foot cord! It can span across the entire room! I do wish that it was a retractable cord, but at least it has an Easycord system that keeps the cord out of the way. A blinking warning light is extremely helpful to me as a mother, making sure that the iron is completely cool whenever the kids are near. I really love the temperature indicator light that will go off when your selected temperature is reached. I haven't had this feature on any other iron I've owned before, and it saves me a lot of time guessing about the iron temp. The iron will also shut off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity so that we are saving on energy usage and I don't have to worry about burning the house down if my absent-minded mommy brain leaves it unattended. I also appreciate the large 9 oz. water tank that keeps me from having to frequently refill and I LOVE that it was designed to use regular tap water, instead of having to keep distilled water on hand.

    t-fal 3

I grew up on an absolutely horrible iron. It was scratched, it leaked water, and it was probably as old as I was. I avoided ironing at all costs because it was hard to use, quite the ordeal to set up, and I never got good results. Since we started using this Ultraglide, I can't believe what I put up with for so long, and what a quality iron is really like. The ease of use and the impressive results have convinced us to donate our old iron. I can't wait to recommend this new iron to my mom (or buy her one too!)

    t-fal 5

Even if you don't use your iron on a daily basis, you are probably still aware of the need for an excellent iron in the laundry room. If anyone in your household is a working professional, shirts need washed and ironed on a daily basis! Besides clothing, curtains, pillow shams, bed linens, and other textiles could all use a fresh wash and iron job as part of Spring cleaning.

Goodbye old iron. Off to the donation box you go. Hello, T-fal Ultraglide Iron. Welcome to the family!

Buy it: You can purchase the T-fal Ultraglide Iron on Amazon for $44.99.

Win it: One person will win the T-Fal Ultraglide Iron!

Open to the US only, ages 18 and up. Ends on May 5th at 11:59 PM EST.

I really like the auto shut off. I am a bit paranoid with irons and things like that they may start a fire, and with a lot of littles underfoot, I am concerned about getting distracted and thus leaving an iron on.
