My Favorite White Sauce Recipe
I've been making this white sauce recipe for quite some time since it's so versatile and my family loves it. Recently, I paired it with some fully cooked Sausages in partnership with Guy Fieri and they enhanced the flavor and my husband said I knocked it out of the park with this one!
I've always been attracted to using sausage as the main ingredient in meals that I make for my family. I think sausage is so flavor-packed that it can stand on its own, or easily compliment a huge variety of other foods in recipes, so it is appealing to cook with. I am constantly coming up with new recipes for my family, and it is so easy to create big hits when I start with sausage and get creative from there. I'm excited to let you in on a family dinner secret: the white sauce. Start with this base, add your sausage, then the sky's the limit on what meals you can create! By using fully cooked sausages in your creations, you know you're in for something really tasty!
With the weather getting nicer and everyone anxious to get outside, mealtime is transitioning outdoors, and Guy Fieri sausages can come with! Take your main feature to the grills and have your delicious meat in minutes, all while enjoying the fresh air. Its time to ditch the coats and scarfs along with the bland and mundane meals of winter. Hello flavor! These sausages are packed with it! I got to try out the Italian Style Sausage, which was strong and delicious, and the Mozzarella & Parmesan Cheese Sausage, which was also exciting and strong in flavor. You can see the spices and cheese pockets right on the sausage slices and natural pork casing. Guy Fieri sausages are available in chicken and pork varieties, they are natural hickory smoked, and each package contains four 3 oz. links. These are delicious! They are fully cooked and brown up very nicely in a skillet or on the grill. You really could eat these with a toothpick or put them in a dish, and love them all the same.
With all this delicious sausage in the house, I wanted to use this opportunity to cook them up in one of my favorite recipes that includes my versatile white sauce. This recipe is as simple as you want it to be, and an excellent place to start if you want to customize it further. Your ingredients are 1 Tablespoon of flour, 1 Tablespoon of butter, and 1 cup of milk or cream.
Set your stove top to low and start stirring the butter and flour together. (You are making a "roux" here, if you've ever heard the term before).
When you get a nice cohesive 'blob', you can then add your liquid. You can use any milk content from skim to heavy cream, based on how low-calorie you want to go. I used light cream in this recipe and I like how thick and creamy it turned out.
From here, leave it as is, or go crazy! This time around I added a dash of salt, a T. of minced garlic, and some ground red pepper. Use whatever seasoning floats your boat or goes with your vision. In the past, I've added parsley, paprika, pesto, grated Parmesan, pepper, etc.
Use this white sauce on top of any kind of pasta, then add diced tomatoes, cilantro, grated Parmesan, and most importantly, those Guy Fieri sausages!
Buy it: You can purchase Guy Fieri sausages at Walmart!

I love sausage, and haven't had any in too long. This will cause me to run to the store and get some of this yummy sausage, and I love the idea of the white sauce, too. Wow!
