Step2 Just Like Home Big Builders Pro Workshop Review

I'm so excited to share an incredible Step2 toy with you! While dad or mom works outside in the garage with real tools, your kiddo can use the Just Like Home Big Builders Pro Workshop to build their own bird house. I've partnered with Step2 to show you all of the workshop's amazing features.

My husband is an electrician and he's always got a project or two going on at home so my daughter has grown up watching him use tools. She always asks to help out but it makes me nervous when she's carrying around a real hammer or screwdriver. When we got the Step2 Just Like Home Big Builders Pro Workshop delivered I knew she'd be so excited to have her own set of tools just like Dad.

Assembly was pretty simple and took about a half an hour. Since we were putting together a workshop and learning about tools I figured it would be great to let our three-year-old help. You'll need a Phillips-head screwdriver to assemble the pieces.

The photo instructions were easy to follow and we quickly had the workshop assembled. With all of the stickers, it looked great in our three-season porch and it was time to try everything out!

There are a few different realistic features that we really love about the Big Builders Pro Workshop. It includes a built-in mechanical table saw and a hand saw that both make authentic cutting noises. The hand saw has teeth that move back and forth but can also be put on lock mode so it doesn't make noise.

The electronic power drill is one of our favorite accessories. The drill requires four AA batteries (not included) and my daughter loves drilling the screws into the workshop wall and then using the reverse feature to take them back out!

The set comes with 45 accessories including a wrench, screwdriver, lots of painting tools (more on those later!), and storage bins to keep everything accessible but also tidy. The Big Builders Pro Workshop even has an overhead light (takes three AAA batteries, not included) that my daughter loves to utilize even when it's daytime 😉

There's plenty of room for tools and projects in the bottom of the workshop. Step2 always has such awesome storage in their sets and this toy is no exception.

    Big Builders Pro Workshop

Our absolute favorite part of this Step2 workshop is that it comes with a birdhouse that you get to assemble with your child. It's foam and doesn't require any actual tools. That being said, our daughter loved pretending to cut the pieces with the table saw and assemble them with the screwdriver and hammer.

Then comes the really fun part-painting the bird house! The white foam actually changes color when it gets wet, so all you need is water and the paint brush or paint roller that come with the workshop!

Our three-year-old is so amazed that we can paint with just water, and I LOVE that it doesn't make a mess! You can also use the squirt-bottle and spray the bird house which is super fun.

When the water dries the blue turns back to white, so you can paint the house again and again! This workshop is so much fun and my daughter loves doing projects just like her dad. She uses the tools all over the house but it's great to have somewhere she can store everything. As you can see, she's just a little bit proud of the bird house she put together and painted 😉

    Big Builders Pro Workshop

This workshop is just awesome overall. I wish I'd had something like it when I was growing up!

BUY IT: You can purchase the Step2 Just Like Home Big Builders Pro Workshop at Toys "R" Us for $129.99.

The grand luxe kitchen woukd be perfect for my niece. My daughter had your deluxe kitchen but I passsed it down a few years back to another loved one.
Watching the kids mimic us in the kitchen is a great learning tool for parents just as much as it is for the kids

Such a fun product. Get my kids working together too. This is also really great for motor skill. Looks like a blast.
