The big blue world is back at Walt Disney World Resort! “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” is now open for crowds to see.
Where can you see Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond?
My family hadn't visited Disney Parks since 2020. We missed it so much! I was absolutely thrilled to receive an invitation to Disney's Animal Kingdom to catch the preview of the newly reimagined show, “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!" You may remember that Disney and Pixar’s “Finding Nemo: The Musical,” ran at the theme park from 2007 to 2020. This is a reimagined retelling as told by a group of fish living at the Marine Life Institute.
If you haven't visited Disney's Animal Kingdom before, I highly recommend it. In fact, check out my top reasons to visit Animal Kingdom. And then there's Pandora! Also, check out my review of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Is the show inside or outdoors?
The show is hosted in the Theater In The Wild in Dinoland in Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. This 25-minute show is an abbreviated version of one of my favorite Disney and Pixar movies, Finding Nemo.
After exploring Disney's Animal Kingdom on a warm day, it was heavenly to be ushered into the Theater In The Wild. The lovely air-conditioned theater holds 1,500 guests and I don't believe there's a bad seat in the house.
What's “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! like?
Guests are instantly transported under the sea in this production. It combines music, puppets and puppeteers, dancers, and animated backdrops. The show is so colorful and vibrant that it's truly a joy to watch.
The talent in this show is out of this world. I've seen quite a few Disney productions and this one is definitely one of the best. It's Broadway-quality, right in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The main characters, Nemo, Marlin, and Dory, are played by live performers who operate animated puppets. These puppets are so eye-catching and their expressions are perfect. Some of the puppets, such as Crush, are huge! It's really amazing to see how this story was brought to life.
Short Video Clip!
The show is suitable for all ages and everyone in my family loved it (and appreciated the cool air-conditioning!).
