Disney World has rolled out a new transportation service and we used and LOVED it during our last visit. I've partnered with Disney to tell you all about their Minnie Van Service!
We recently visited Walt Disney World for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and we had an amazing time. We stayed at Art of Animation Resort and took full advantage of the on-site transportation via Disney's new Minnie Van Service! Read on to see what you can expect and the many benefits of getting around in a Minnie Van.
Benefits of Using Disney's Minnie Van Service
1. Disney's Minnie Van Service is run through the Lyft app, so you can conveniently order a ride straight from your smartphone. One of the biggest benefits is that they can drop you off at better and closer locations than Uber or taxis in some parks. For example, Minnie Vans take you past the ticket and transportation center at Magic Kingdom.
2. The Minnie Van fleet boasts 2017 and 2018 Chevy Traverses, so they're spacious and hold up to six passengers. On top of that, they automatically come with two child safety seats for no additional cost. This makes them extremely convenient for parents! The drivers have eight hours of car seat training and install seats up to 20 times per day, so they're well versed in car seat safety. Minnie Van drivers also play Disney music - our driver played yacht club music to lull the kids down for a nap!
3. Minnie Van drivers are extremely knowledgeable about Disney World property and events. Our driver recommended a few things that we needed to see and do at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. His recommendations were spot-on and truly enhanced our experience! We also got some info on the new Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs, where we traveled for some shopping and dining one evening.
4. While the Minnie Van Service used to be a flat $25 fee, now it's a $15 plus mileage. For short rides, you'll likely come in under the original $25 fee. While it may cost a bit more for rides over four miles, the convenience of getting a ride exactly when you need it is worth it.
5. Minnie Van Service also offers transportation to Orlando International Airport from your Disney resort and vice versa. This service is not through the Lyft app but you can arrange it with Disney at (407) WDW-PLAY. You call ahead with your request and Disney will track your flight and make sure they have enough room for your luggage. The Minnie Vans boast room for up to eight medium sized suitcases plus six guests. They provide up to three complimentary car seats are for airport travel. This premium service costs $150-gratuity not included.
We loved the convenience and ease of using the Minnie Van Service during our recent Disney stay. It's especially helpful for parents traveling with young children but can also be utilized by anyone on Disney property!

I really got a smile out of the vans being painted in Minnie's colors and polka dots, lol. It does sound really convenient, too.
