One of the largest attractions in Florida is Walt Disney World and we love visiting any chance we get! This summer, we were invited to visit Blizzard Beach, one of Disney World's two water parks. I've partnered with Disney to share why Blizzard Beach is the perfect attraction for everyone in the family!
Summer is so hot in Florida that we take any chance we get to cool off! While I have young kids, I still enjoy a big water slide every now and then. Sometimes people get caught up in thinking that Disney is just for young kids, but Blizzard Beach has attractions for guests of all ages. Here's why Blizzard Beach is the perfect park for everyone in the family.
Disney World's Blizzard Beach
Our kids love to meet Disney characters, and during summer months Goofy can be found roaming Blizzard Beach and greeting guests. While our daughter was a little nervous once we got up close, our son was excited to meet him!
If you've got toddlers or young preschoolers, Tike's Peak is going to be a huge hit. With kid-sized versions of Blizzard's Beach attractions, your little ones will have plenty to do! Plus, the area is for kids 48" and shorter, so you don't have to worry about bigger kids bumping into them. Our daughter loved this play area and the smaller water slides.
Cross Country Creek is a lazy river that you won't want to miss! At 3,000 feet long, it winds through the water park and is a fantastic way to get from place to place if you don't feel like walking. It's actually the longest lazy river in the country! There are lots of things to see along the river, including awesome caves and a sneezing gator, which was a HUGE hit with my kids. They thought getting splashed by the sneeze was the funniest thing in the world.
Another way to get around the park (and to some of the best big attractions) is by taking the Chair Lift. You can see some amazing views and avoid walking up the stairs by riding up to Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher, and Teamboat Springs.
One of my favorite water slides at Blizzard Beach is the Downhill Double Dipper! I love to race to the finish line through the tube slides-it's crazy how fast it feels. Plus, the anticipation really builds before the gates retract! This is great for older kids, teen, and adults.
If you've got older kids or tweens who aren't quite ready for the BIG slides yet, they'll love Ski Patrol Training Camp! There are quite a few attractions in this area, including a few different slides and an interactive training course. It's perfect for family members who aren't into the kiddie things anymore but also aren't ready for some of the more thrilling experiences.
If you want the experience of going to the beach without heading to the coast, Melt-Away Bay will be your favorite attraction. A one-acre wave pool complete with waterfalls and a white, sandy beach, it's the perfect place to relax during your busy day at Blizzard Beach. This is truly the best attraction for every single person in your family, from toddlers to grandparents. Our kids are confident swimmers, but if yours aren't they can grab a life jacket and head into the water! I love that Disney provides these so families don't have to worry about bringing their own.
Our daughter is obsessed with the fine, white sand at Melt-Away Bay!
While she played in the sand, I was living my best life with these delicious cocktails! Blizzard Beach has a variety of dining attractions that are sutiable for the entire family and some drink offerings just for the adults (that are amazing!).
Check out some of the amazing food at Blizzard Beach. Those nachos? YUM. I had them for lunch and my kids kept picking them off my plate. All of the restaurants at Blizzard Beach are counter service and they have some delectable options!
Whether you're a kid, adult, or somewhere in between, you'll find so many amazing attractions at Disney's Blizzard Beach! We had a wonderful time and our kids are already begging to go back.
