Are you a Marvel fan? I had the distinct pleasure of walking the red carpet at the Avengers: Infinity War premiere and I've got the scoop on what it's like to share space with some of the biggest names in show business.
As I mentioned in my preview post for the Infinity War Event, I'm not exactly a stranger when it comes to movie premieres. I was lucky enough to be invited by Disney to the Finding Dory premiere and the Moana premiere and loved every minute of the experiences. Walking the red carpet at premieres is exhilarating. I didn't know quite what to expect when I got an invitation from Marvel Studios to attend the Avengers: Infinity World premiere, but I knew I had to be there.
Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War is probably the biggest movie release of 2018. In fact, it could have one of the biggest domestic openings of all time. Ticket presales for Infinity War were higher than last seven Marvel movies combined. That's kind of a huge deal. So, you can see why I jumped at the chance to attend this premiere.
I obsessively binge-watched the previous Marvel films before heading to LA so I could be completely immersed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). I was so ready to completely soak in this event and this film. Avengers: Infinity War promised to be the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time and I wanted to see the stars of the film before I lost any of my on-screen heroes.
Avengers: Infinity War Premiere
I knew Avengers: Infinity War was going to be star-studded. I got a little preview of the sheer star power at the D23 Expo in Anaheim last summer. An impressive list of actors took the stage and you could feel the chemistry between them. It was like a homecoming of sorts. Seriously though, I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie with this many amazing actors on the roster; major headlining stars too boot.
To have a cast that includes the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Anthony Mackie, Zoe Saldana, Letitia Wright, Elizabeth Olsen, Danai Gurira, Paul Bettany, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Josh Brolin, Don Cheadle, Sebastian Stan, and Dave Bautista is pretty unheard of. Even Captain America: Civil War, which was pretty epic, didn't have this many superheroes in it.
I knew Marvel would be going all-out for this premiere so I grabbed a fabulous blue Halston Heritage dress in homage to my main squeeze Captain America, and a pair of hot pink Badgley Mischka Kiara heels and got ready to walk one of the biggest red carpets yet.
Unlike the other premieres I’d been to, which were held at the El Capitan Theatre, this premiere was going to be held in THREE different theaters, including the Dolby Theatre, which is where the Academy Awards are held. That right there was pretty amazing to me. I’d be sitting in a seat that where Hollywood legends have sat and I’d be watching Avengers: Infinity War with the filmmakers and the cast, who was seeing the final product for the first time that evening.
You could feel the electricity in the air on Hollywood Boulevard. The lights were bright and the crowd was buzzing. As we walked along the red carpet to make our way into the theater there were multiple displays of Marvel props and costumes from the past 10 years of Marvel films.
There were a few star sighting on the carpet, but we really got to see the stars of the movie once we got into the theater. My seat was in the front row of the Dolby Theatre so I had an awesome view of the cast.

After the movie (be sure to check out my Infinity War review to see what I thought) we had the chance to attend the after party. This was a once in a lifetime experience because press and media are not usually invited. Since this was a celebration for Marvel's 10th anniversary, Marvel decided to invite us also. Can you imagine how happy we were?!
There was no shortage of celebrities at the party. I was able to briefly chat with Michael Rooker, who played Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I also got to snap a photo with Don Cheadle who plays James Rhodes/War Machine in multiple Marvel films.
Outside on the party balcony, I ran into Benedict Wong from Doctor Strange and Infinity War.
I also ran into Ross Marquand from The Walking Dead. Perhaps he was there to support his The Walking Dead co-star Danai Gurira, who plays Okoye in Black Panther and Infinity War.
Attending the premiere and after party was such an incredible experience. Best of all, I got to do it with good friends.
