How to style Tieks Ballet Flats
As you probably already know, flats became popular in the 1950's thanks to Audrey Hepburn. Then, they made a comeback in 80's. I know because I had a few pairs when I was a kid and then said goodbye to them once the grunge look became trendy. If I'm being honest, I can't say that I was that sad. In fact, when flats made their resurgence in the mid-2000's I was against them. I remember shopping with my friend and saying, "There is no way I would ever wear flats." Fast forward 10 years and I eat those words every. single. day. After my last post about picking the perfect pair of Tieks shoes, you probably realize that I'm a full-blown Tieks ballet flats addict. Fortunately, if you're going to have an addiction, a Tieks addiction is a pretty good one to have. My feet have never been happier.
As I mentioned in my Tieks review, as a busy mom who chases two toddlers around all day, I need a shoe that's comfortable. Tieks ballet flats are, by far, the most comfortable flats I've ever worn and I love that I don't have to sacrifice my sense of style in the name of comfort. They're fashionable, sophisticated and extremely versatile. That's why I truly believe that every woman should have a little blue stripe as part of her wardrobe. Even if you want to pare down your closet and start a capsule wardrobe, Tieks can be an invaluable addition.
Let me show you how versatile Tieks ballet flats can be.
Jeans and t-shirts or comfortable tops are my wardrobe staples. I love that I can pair a casual outfit with a pair of Tieks ballet flats and a great bag (like this Lily Jade diaper bag) and I look put together, without having to try very hard.
Moving on to a casual date night look. I love the way Tieks ballet flats look with skinny jeans and the fact that you can see the entire shoe. When you invest in a beautiful pair of ballet flats, you want to show them off. A great pair of jeans, flowy tank top, clutch (this is a Harper Black Velvet Clutch with custom monogram in Turquoise from Grateful Bags), and a pair of gorgeous Tieks and I'm ready for a night out with my guy.
Another casual look, but check out the pop of color these Lilac Tieks add. Normally, I'd pair an outfit like this with black shoes to stay in the "safe zone," but having a collection of colorful Tieks ballet flats encourages me to push outside of my comfort zone and experiment with more color combinations.
Maybe you've got a lunch with girlfriends or a day date with your significant other? A cute dress and a pair of Tieks goes a long way! Don't be afraid to play with color.
Paired with a pair of black pants and a classic white button down and your Tieks will definitely get you through the work day.
If you've got a fancier event, Tieks ballet flats can be dressed up so you can still be comfortable while looking chic.
Even for formal events, yes you can wear flats! I'm SO over heels. I try to give heels a shot and wear them to start the night, but I always bring a pair of foldable Tieks ballet flats in my purse (like I did to walk the red carpet at a big movie premiere).
Tieks ballet flats can take you from day to night, whether your style is super casual or simply elegant. Now that I've found them, I'm never going back.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered my first pair. Black or grey would have been more practical but because I like to incorporate pops of pink, teal, and purple into my looks and the fact that I wear jeans a lot I decided that Lovestruck would be the way to go.
I have wide feet 8 1/2, so I chose 9 based on Tieks recommendation and the MANY blogs I read beforehand. They fit like a dream. I absolutely love them. My next pair will be black I thought it would be Matte but after seeing your side by side with Obsidian now I'm torn.
