Some of the most important Back-to-School items on our shopping list for this Fall were durable, sophisticated, fun, and fashionable shoes for the baby, the little brother, and our Kindergartner. We've partnered with See Kai Run to show you a few of our favorites from their Fall/Winter collection.
Back-to-School season involves the gathering of so many supplies and articles of clothing, doesn't it!? The markers and the glue sticks are the easy part. Where I struggle is in the shoe department. One or two pairs of shoes per kid definitely does not cut it in this part of the country where the seasons are so intense and durability is extremely high on my priority list. I sat down to our pile of shoes and assessed whether everyone had a pair of rain boots, dress shoes, snowshoes, and casual sneakers for this school year, and found where we were coming up short, then went straight to the See Kai Run website.
See Kai Run shoes
See Kai Run shoes are extremely durable and built for many hours of wearing and running. My boys tend to wear their shoes thin and worn before they grow out of them, which is fairly unacceptable to me, considering how fast they are growing, but each pair of the See Kai Run shoes we received look like they will last through several children if we need them to.
Of all the shoes that my Kindergartner will wear this year, I decided that the most important pair he needed was an excellent pair of snow shoes. I was so pleased and excited to see a new line of waterproof boots among the Fall/Winter Runners and I thought these Charlie boots couldn't be more perfect for my son.
My boy is going to be logging miles when we add up all the walks to and from the bus stop this year, where much of the terrain will be on snow, slushy streets, and un-shoveled sidewalks. The fact that these Charlie Runners are waterproof makes them great for whatever the weather looks like.
You'll notice that all of these shoes have adjustable hook and loop closures that make in and out easy, but they also allow for a very customized fit for both wide and narrow feet and ankles. My son does have an old pair of winter boots but besides being too small to wear this school year, he complains so intensely about wearing them because it is such a long process to stuff his feet inside and lace him up completely. He and I are both thrilled about him being able to put these new boots on and off himself. I'm sure his Kindergartner teacher will thank us, too, knowing she doesn't have to help him get in and out of these for recess outside.
He is so ready to wear these! They are quite lightweight so he still feels like he can jump and be as active as he wants, without the weight of heavy rubber boots on his feet. These still offer great flexibility and are completely comfortable to wear for hours on end, says the very picky and particular boy.
My other son was seriously needing some dress shoes. He's been wearing a pair that my husband wore as a boy, which is adorable, but they don't look like they have much life in them left! These Leathers came to the rescue. They are lightweight, breathable, and just as comfortable as a nice pair of sneakers.
These are the Erik shoes in Brown, and I feel like they work great for formal occasions, weekly church services, or even school uniforms. Don't you love the wing-tip styling!?
All of the See Kai Run shoes have traction patterns on the soles that help with stability but keep the shoes flexible, and notice how the laces are elastic, allowing for even more room to get feet in and out, but they still offer a snug and secure fit once they are on.
There is so much detail on these dress shoes! See Kai Run considers every detail that goes into a shoe, from the padded collar around the heel to the breathable leather linings and insoles.
The wide toe boxes are characteristic of See Kai Run shoes and they really allow for wiggle room and comfort. I LOVE these wingtip details! I think these really look classy and secretly hope there is another boy after him to wear these shoes as well.
I saved the cutest for last! Baby Girl is wild and she is active, and she's going to be accompanying me on a LOT of shopping trips and preschool pick-ups this year, so I wanted a pair of shoes that would be supportive, durable, and would NOT keep slipping off her feet. We picked out a pair of runners for her and they are awesome!!
I was looking for something a step above sneakers, considering our wild weather and her being a little crazy on her feet at only 18-months-old, and these totally fit the bill.
With two adjustable straps, there is a lot of space allowance to fit her foot inside, even when she is at her wiggliest moments. The plastic rings are going to remain durable over time and there will be no rusting or deteriorating as these get worn through puddles. These are waterproof and made from quilted nylon material and I'm absolutely loving the full rubber toe cap that is going to keep these looking their best, no matter what the girl decides to do in them!
Baby Girl is already kind of a shoe fanatic and she got a little crazed when she saw these! She begged to put them on and immediately began running up and down our street, happy as could be. I could see that they really supported her new walking skills and that the rubber soles were still flexible for developing feet and that they promoted a natural stride.
I feel like we are SO PREPARED for this school year! Honestly, these shoes are easing my stressed-out self, knowing that my kids will have great footwear that is fashion-forward, expertly designed for their feet, and made of the best materials. I'd happily recommend See Kai Run to anyone needing to do some Back-to-School shoe shopping for this Fall!
