I loved my Pottery Barn Banks Extended Dining Table so much that I wanted to compliment the look in my kitchen. We chose the Banks Round Pedestal Extending Dining Table for my eat-in kitchen area with coordinating Bradford Dining Chairs.

When we built our home in 2018, we decided to buy new furniture. We'd spent years with low-quality pieces and it was time to upgrade. When I was shopping for Pottery Barn furniture I had a really hard time finding real-life reviews of their pieces. I ended up making several voyages to their retail stores to see the furniture in person and evaluate the quality. In the end, I purchased almost all of our furniture from Pottery Barn so I wanted to share some of my photos and reviews in case you're on the fence.

P.S. Check out my post about displaying Fiestaware if those bright dishes or awesome floating shelves are catching your eye.

I became obsessed with the Banks Extending Dining Table in grey wash and couldn't get it out of my head. We decided to pull the trigger after seeing the quality in-store and didn't regret it a bit. When it came time to select a table for our kitchen area, I kept going back and forth between a different model or buying another model in the Banks Dining Collection. I decided to purchase the Banks Round Pedestal Extending Dining Table and I'm so glad I did.

This thick planked tabletop creates a space of warmth for family and guests. It's crafted of kiln-dried solid poplar, MDF, and hardwood veneers. Per Pottery Barn, this round pedestal table is finished by hand using an exclusive multi-step process that creates exceptional depth of color and is sealed with a protective lacquer for moisture resistance.

You'll notice that I've added a glass top to my Banks dining table. I was afraid we'd damage the finish of the table and that crumbs would gather in the grooves. I ordered this 48" Inch Round Glass Table Top that is ¼" thick with a flat polish edge and it was perfect. In fact, I ended up covering most of the surfaces in my home (Banks buffet, media consoles, kid's dressers, nightstands, and desks) with custom glass toppers. It was one of the best decisions I've made. I contacted a local glass and mirror company and they were able to make toppers for me.

The Banks Round Pedestal Dining Table includes one leaf, which is why the table is described as extending. I don't have the leaf inserted here but if you did, you could easily accommodate 6 people at your table.

    Bradford side chair

Instead of a fancier, upholstered chair like I chose in my Pottery Barn Dining Room, I chose the Bradford Side Chair for my kitchen. This chair is pretty durable and comes in two colors, Gray Wash or Alfresco Brown. I really liked the scroll back and scooped seat. It really feels like a timeless design.

I'm really happy with these chairs and they complement the Banks Round Pedestal Table beautifully. I did have an issue where two of the chair arrived damaged, but Pottery Barn replaced both.

What do you think of the Banks Dining Collection?

Read my post about my Pottery Barn Dining Room. It features the Banks Extended Dining Table and Banks Buffet, Eagan Mirror, and Hayes Tufted Upholstered Chairs. I also have a review of the Pottery Barn Pearce Sectional and Griffin Coffee Table in my Pottery Barn Living Room post. Also, check out my son's Pottery Barn Star Wars Bedroom.
