Peek Prints Professional Photography Backdrops Review

I love how photography has been sweeping the nation as a new hobby for anyone who can afford a camera. There is so much to learn in this craft, especially when it comes to your equipment and experimenting with different styles of photography. I've had our DSLR for over four years now, and I still get a rush from trying out new lenses, learning new techniques, and taking my pictures to a new level. I'm really trying to master the craft of indoor photography lately, especially for children and babies! Photographing newborns indoors will most often be the better option, regardless of the weather, and there are just too many months of the year when an outdoor photo shoot for young kids is not even worth attempting. In my quest to up my photography game, I've been looking for the best photography backdrops, and I've found a fantastic backdrop shop called Peek Prints! At no cost to facilitate this review, I was sent three backdrops to work with, and I've been having a blast experimenting with them!

    peek prints 1

Peek Prints carries more than 1,749 different items!! They have some really romantic and simply gorgeous nature, skyline, and other unique backdrops that can really create beautiful lasting impressions.

    peek prints 4

My three backdrops arrived safe and sound in a very sturdy tube with the three backdrops rolled up together. The tubing also makes for great storage to keep your drops wrinkle-free and protected.

    peek prints 5

I was immediately impressed with the thick durability of the drops and how heavy the canvas was. I'm sure I don't have to worry about rips, tears, or heavy wrinkles. To start out with, I chose to stick with some basics while I work on my indoor skills and settled on these two below:

    peek prints 10

The first classic staple this 6ft.x4ft. Clean White Wood backdrop! I looked at this and thought about how classic, versatile, and reusable this could be. It could easily be a floor or a wall and the clean lines allow it to work for crisp or rustic scenes.

    peek prints 8

I wish the grains in the wood were a little more pronounced to make the planks more noticeably like wood, but I still love the clean, symmetrical look and how it adds interest to the photograph.

    peek prints 2

A good collection of backdrops always includes a really good set of floors! I saw this 6ft x 4ft Cherry Wood Planks Backdrop and knew it would be ideal for my daughter's baby announcement pictures! I tried to recreate a old library in a sort of "Beauty and the Beast" theme, and the dark cherry set just the right mood. The colors are so deep and rich, and this floor photographs beautifully! You'd never think it wasn't a real wood floor beneath her.

    peek prints 6

Here's how it looked photographed. Such beautiful, rich colors! This backdrop really performs well on camera. I think the planks look fantastic and very life-like.

    peek prints 7a

Lastly, I decided that a large, solid white drop would really come in handy. I thought it would be a classic, completely versatile, and a 100% useful backdrop to own, and I'm so glad I went with this size. At Peek Prints, solid colors can be printed in any size/dimension, and I think this 7x7 size is exactly right for my needs. This is a 7ft x 7ft Solid White Vinyl Backdrop, which will be tall enough for the huge majority of people you might be photographing.

    peek prints 9

This drop was PERFECT for our family picture last weekend! You'd never guess this wasn't taken in a studio, and instead, just in my kitchen.  By only lifting it 3-4 ft. off the ground, I can fit all three of my kids on it while half of it drapes on the floor, so I don't have to mess with a clean way to join the wall and floor. I am really excited to do more family-size photography with this! What a treasure!

    peek prints 12

Whether you're a beginner or a pro, I'm sure you see the value and appeal of a good set of backdrops! Just take a few minutes to see all the beautiful drops from Peek Prints and I'm sure you'll fall in love with dozens of them! Start building your backdrop library and enjoy the beautiful moments you can capture!

Connect: You can connect with Peek Prints on Facebook, and follow them on Pinterest.

Buy it: You can purchase a 7ft x 7ft Solid White Vinyl Backdrop for $73.99+, the 6ft x 4ft Cherry Wood Planks Backdrop for $36.99+, and the 6ft x 4ft Clean White Wood for $37.99+ on the Peek Prints website.

So cool! I love Black and White Wood Floor Planks...but that looks a little too tricky for me ( a beginner ). So, I'd probably get the "All About Those Hearts" light green back drop. Has a simple but vintage feel!

I would spend it on the bright white wood, painted pastel wood and I'm really not a princess backdrop, those are my favorites.

Wow I love so many of the styles they offer - especially the outdoor scenery. However if I am lucky enough to win I'd have to pick one of three options. I'm involved in animal rescue and could see a custom design to use as a backdrop for taking photos of rescue dogs and cats (perhaps something like a pet store background). OR, I'd let me oldest daughter pick one to use at her upcoming wedding photos. OR, I'd let daughter #2 pick something to use as a background for her costume photo shoots. Decisions, decisions.

Such a hard choice! I'd be using them for my baby girl's monthly and yearly photos as well as for my expected nephew and niece. I really like the Rock a bye Moon, Lady Fair Purple Damask, and Light Vintage Clouds (but I'd take more time to choose if I won). I do all of my own photography as well as my family's and would love to take my hobby a step further.
