If you have a small bathroom, it may seem impossible to organize it correctly. How do you fit all of your things in there? How do you keep it from looking cluttered and messy? Do you have to share this bathroom with others? How can you be sure they have access to the things they need when using the bathroom? Bathroom organization is a challenge to many people as is, but a small bathroom can present a new set of challenges.
Clever ways you can organize a small bathroom
Create shelving – There are a variety of ways you can create shelving, even in a small bathroom. For example, you might build some custom shelves under the sink cabinet. You can cover that hardware and also put customized shelves in to allow you to sort and organize your bathroom items easily. You might use some over-the-toilet shelves to make more of your space. Or you might attach some floating shelves to the wall in a free space in the bathroom. Corner shelving is another idea for a small space when you need to maximize the area you have for storing items. I love the look of these zig-zag shelves and they come in different color options.
Hang spice racks (or even extra cabinets) – Simple spice racks can be painted any color you choose and you can hang them from even small spaces in your bathroom and use them to organize all of your lotions, hair products and more. Another option is adding another cabinet to the wall. We also have a handy tutorial to build your own nail polish organizer that you can utilize in different ways.
Rods, rods, and rods – You can also use towel rods, curtain rods, and shower rods in a variety of ways in your bathroom for more space. You can hang multiple towel rods behind the door for extra towel storage. You can hang a second curtain rod in the back of your shower and then hang baskets from it to use as shower caddies. Use coat hooks or racks for robes and towels. Tension rods are you friend!
Make your decor pull double duty - When you're short on space, consider making your decor part of your organization strategy. I use glass apothecary jars on my (rather small) countertops to hold bathroom essentials like cotton balls and Q-tips. They look classy and they're functional.
Get those drawers organized - If you have the luxury of having a vanity with drawers, make sure they stay tidy and maximize your storage space by using drawer organizers. You don't have to spend a fortune either. I use ice cube trays in my drawers to hold hair elastics, bobby pins, make-up, and any other small items that can get lost in the shuffle. I also use cheap plastic trays to keep brushes, combs, hair care items, etc in their place.
Now you have these tips for how to organize a small bathroom and hopefully they work for you, or inspire you to make your own bathroom your own perfect space. Happy organizing!

Great ideas. It always cracks me up that every article about "tiny" bathrooms have pictures with to me huge bathrooms, lol.

All clever ways that also look good. I like your idea for using rods. I find that I use hooks for some extra space in my bathroom.
