In just ONE week we're taking our kids on their first trip to Disney World, and I couldn't be more excited! We haven't told them yet for a few reasons, but we wanted to share our plans for other parents who might want to surprise kids with a Disney trip. Plus, I've partnered with Obersee to bring you a great kids' luggage giveaway to help with your planning!
Why We Decided to Surprise Our Kids With a Disney Trip
If you have kids, you know they can't contain their excitement once they find out about an upcoming event. I can't count the number of times I've regretted mentioning something to our four year old daughter. As soon as it comes out of my mouth, the "when are we going?" begins. So, when we started making Disney plans we decided we would surprise our kids and keep it a secret until the day we're actually leaving.
Another reason we wanted to keep it a secret is in case anything happens that will delay our plans. In winter, we never know if our family will get hit by a bad illness or if we'll have a blizzard delay our flight. Since we're waiting to tell our kids until we leave, we don't have to worry about their disappointment if our plans change.
Lastly, we really wanted to make the reveal a fun surprise, so we've been putting together Disney backpacks for the kids to open. I'm going to take a video of them opening the backpacks to catch their reaction, and I can't wait to see how excited they are! Check out everything we put in the backpacks (along with links for where to find them) in this post!
Obersee Backpacks
We got these adorable 3 Piece Luggage Sets from Obersee for our trip, and they're going to be perfect for this and future travels. The first thing we filled up is the backpacks. I ordered a few things we'd need for the trip as well as some fun Disney surprises, and I can't wait until Monday when the kids get to open them!
I love Obersee's design options for their Little Kids Luggage. We chose the Star and Space styles because our kids liked them best, but there are nine styles to choose from in the luggage sets, and even more if you purchase the backpacks separately!
One of the best features is the integrated cooler on the backpack. For our trip I'm going to pack snacks, but this will also be so handy for preschool or as a lunch box. Each backpack comes with a mesh side pocket for water bottles also!
Our kids have been running around the house using their backpacks to play 'school' - little do they know what fun is in store for them next week! Our kids are four and two, and the backpacks are a great size for both of them. The chest clip is a nice feature to keep the straps in place on small shoulders. It's very easy to adjust the length of the straps for growing kids, too!
Obersee Luggage and Toiletries Bag
Our kids are loving their matching luggage sets and enjoy wheeling their suitcases. Since we have to buy airline tickets for both of them, we'll take advantage of the carry-ons and personal items they can bring.
Each suitcase also contains an integrated cooler for keeping food and drinks cold. Plus, there's plenty of space for days of clothing. We're going to be gone for ten days and the kids' clothes will definitely fit in these adorable suitcases.
I love the toiletries bags that come in the 3 Piece Luggage Sets by Obersee. I'll use ours for toothbrushes, hairbrushes, pony tails, and other small items. I'm going to finish packing for our trip this upcoming week so I don't have to do it all last minute!
We are loving our Obersee 3 Piece Luggage Sets and can't wait to take them on our trip to Florida. I love matching sets and these are just the right size for our two little ones.
Our friends at Obersee are generously offering one lucky reader a piece of Little Kids Luggage!

We have not taken our kids to Disney yet, but hope to do so sometime in the next two summers. I would like to win because neither of my kids have kid luggage and these have so many great features that would make traveling easier. The three pieces allow for various packing and the wheels and backpack style make it something my kids would enjoy using. great style too.

Took my niece to Disneyland to celebrate her third birthday. I was fortunate enough to win a 3 day, two night vacation package for 4.
When I went to see my niece in December, she showed me her suitcase. It was a nice piece of luggage, but not something bright and colorful. I would love to win this luggage so my niece, who is turning 5 next month, can have luggage that fits her colorful personality 🙂

We haven't been able to take our daughter yet - we had planned on taking her last summer before she hit 10 but then hubby was "laid off" and hasn't been able to find anything that paid him what he was making so there's no extra money to set aside now. 🙁 Hopefully before she is a teen we can take her! We'd love the luggage because we do take trips to Dallas to visit family and this would be great to pack just *her clothes in!

We have taken our kids twice now. They love to go and my oldest is always asking for her own luggage. It becomes a challenge when you have 2 adults carrying luggage for 5, including 1 car seat, 2 booster seats and strollers. It would be great to have our daughter “help” with something her size!

The straps do stretch fairly far so they're not uncomfortable to carry as an adult, but they're definitely made for kids 🙂
