If you have 5 minutes, you can get this sophisticated bun with braid. Say goodbye to the messy mom bun! This look is way more put together and takes no time at all.
I've partnered with Lunchbox to show you how to do an easy messy bun with braid up-do.
Did you make any resolutions this year to improve your style? While I usually avoid making new year resolutions, I did tell myself that I'd attempt to be more stylish this year. It's easy for me to get into the slump of wearing yoga pants, so I wanted to try and step up my game and put more effort into my looks. That being said, it's not exactly easy to get all gussied up with 2 small children to take care of and I certainly don't have time to blow out and style my hair everyday. That's why I love a hairstyle that I can manage to do in just as few minutes (even with dirty hair!) that still looks on point. My favorite is an easy bun with braid up-do. I think the braid just gives it a little something extra, but it's totally optional, especially if your hair is a bit shorter than mine. I do this style using the sock bun method, so grab a sock and let's get started!
The first step to creating this look starts in my morning shower (or yesterday morning's shower). I've started using the new to add some volume to my normally "flat" hair. Unlike my traditional routine, the Beauty-Full Volume system starts with the Beauty-Full Volume Pre-wash Conditioner that smoothes hair. Then, I use the Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo to wash away weight by removing excess conditioning, for touchable, soft everyday volume. You read that right - with the Beauty-Full Volume collection you'll condition FIRST, then shampoo since conditioner can weight the hair down I then finish my look with Beauty-Full Volume Hairspray to keep my style in place.
Here's how to do a bun with braid updo:
1.) Wash your hair with the collection and dry your hair. This style is great for hair that was washed yesterday or the day before.
2.) Pull your hair into a ponytail at the crown of your head.
3.) Grab a sock and cut off the toe portion. This will leave you with a long tube that you can then roll into a circle.
4.) Take your rolled up sock and pull your ponytail through it. Take out a small section of hair from the bottom of your ponytail so you can braid it and then wrap it around the bun at the end (sort of set that section of hair aside).
5.) Bring the sock up to the very end of your ponytail and start tucking the ends of the ponytail into the bottom of the roll. Start rolling the sock down, all while continuously tucking the ends of your hair under into the roll.
6.) Once you've rolled the sock all the way down, it should stay in place all by itself. To achieve a "messier" look, I simply pull on sections of the bun to loosen it up so it's not so tight.
7.) If your hair is pulled tightly into your ponytail/bun and you want more volume, pull some of the of strands from the sides and front of your head to loosen it up.
8.) Take that section of hair that you reserved for your braid and braid it, then wrap it around your bun and secure it with a bobby pin or two.
9.) Finish the look with TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume Hairspray.
If you want to get this look, I've got good news! With all of the new products from TRESemme and Suave, on sale at Meijer, it’s easier than ever to find a new and exciting style to flaunt.

I'm currently in the process of growing out my hair, I've been sporting a pixi cut for past two month, once my hair gets long enough, I'd really like to try and wear it in loose wavy curls.
