DIY Spa Inspired Gift with FREE printables!

    spa inspired gift

I've teamed up with Lunchbox for this DIY spa inspired gift idea.

There is nothing I like more than a little "me" time. It doesn't happen often, so when it does I totally indulge. I might not be able to get out of the house to go to the spa, but at least I can pamper myself at home. I have absolutely no problem spending a little extra to great skin care products that will give me healthier and more radiant skin. The beauty department is NOT an area where I'll skimp. My mom's birthday is right around the corner, so I thought she'd appreciate a little pampering herself. My parents have been renovating their home and since she's most excited about her beautiful new bathroom, I knew a spa inspired gift would be perfect. I put together a nice bundle of the products I use everyday, so I know she'll love it.

The first thing you'll need to shop for is a jar or container to hold your gift. Of course you could always use a gift bag, but I'd rather use a glass jar that can be repurposed. I found a large glass Ball Mason Jar at Target and I knew it would be lovely on my mom's countertop to hold cotton balls or soaps. Then, the fun part - picking out items the best soaps, salts, scrubs, soaks, and masks! I chose some heavenly scented Bodycology Toasted Sugar Moisturizing Body Wash and Bodycology Exfoliating Sugar Scrub and then a facial mask from que bella. These products always perform well for me and are readily available at my local Target. Great products are just half of the equation though. If you're not using special beauty tools with these products, then you’re not making the most of your beauty routine. That's why I selected some products from The Bathery, a line of beauty tools sold exclusively at Target, to create some perfect pairings for this gift.

    spa gift

The Bathery tools will help elevate your skin care routine, making your bath products work harder, and isn't that exactly what you want them to do?! You're paying good money for them, so you might as well make your investment count with tools that will boost their effectiveness. That's why I always pair my Bodycology Body Wash with an Exfoliating Mesh Sponge from The Bathery. This plush sponge reveals refreshed skin each time I use it to cleanse and exfoliate.

    sugar scrub

For those times I need a little extra exfoliation, I grab my Let's SPA Exfoliating Bath Cloth. When paired with Bodycology Toasted Sugar Exfoliating Sugar Scrub, you've got the perfect combination. Softer, more hydrated skin will definitely be yours.

    facial sponges

You can't get the complete spa experience without a facial, so I also grabbed a que bella Deep Cleansing Aloe Vera Mask and The Bathery's Dual Sided Facial Sponges. Use the gentle side of the sponge to lather and cleanse, then the exfoliating side for a deep, invigorating clean. Thanks to these sponges, you'll wash away dirt, oil and makeup, preparing your skin for the deep cleansing mask application. It will make the mask work so much better!

    spa gift

At this points you've got some perfectly paired luxe skincare items and tools from The Bathery that will prep the skin to "soak it all up."  Now you're ready to start assembling your gift. To embellish it a bit more, I make a hanging gift tag that reads "Soak it all up mama!" It only took me a few minutes to create and I figured I would write a personal note on the back. In case you'd like to recreate this gift idea, I also made a tag that says "Soak it all up friend!" - that way you've got a little more flexibility.

I love making my own gift sets to personalize it for the person I'm buying for. I also love making my own scrubs with essential oils. I worked at a store that taught me how to mix my own oils and make all types of bath and beauty products. It's still a fun hobby of mine.

I've always enjoyed making gift baskets for friends and family. However I now live far away from everyone so making the baskets and mailing them or transporting them on a long trip (with an 8 month old baby, 2 dogs, and husband) has become quite cumbersome. I love love love this idea of diy gifts in a jar with tags! A nice fresh take on 'gift baskets!'
