    Ubbi Diaper Pail Review

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

    Ubbi Diaper Pail and Box

I’ve partnered with Ubbi for this review.

For my baby shower I received a diaper pail and two refill boxes that we had on our registry. It was my husband’s only request, as he wanted to keep our house from smelling like one big diaper. I certainly didn’t think that was a bad idea. When we picked out a diaper pail, I didn’t think much of it. I thought they were all more or less alike and needed expensive refill bags and that’s just how it worked. How wrong I was!

We used the diaper pail and went through the two refill boxes pretty quickly. My husband and I weren’t thrilled with it, to say the least. The diaper pail was made of plastic and even when the bag was removed, it still smelled like it was in there. The opening was so tight that if you had a #2 diaper, when you squeezed it through the hole, the #2 squeezed out too. Yucky! Needless to say, it was a stinky and messy situation.

So, when given the opportunity to review the Ubbi diaper pail, I definitely was excited! For one thing, it’s just beautiful! I never thought I would say that about a diaper pail, but it is. I feel like it’s a little piece of modern art in our house. It’s sturdy (made of steel), sleek and cute. My husband even said “That’s a really cool looking diaper pail!” Who says a diaper pail has to be boring... not Ubbi! It comes in a variety of colors, so you will be sure to find one that goes perfectly with your baby’s room decor.

    Ubbi Diaper Pail Colors

This diaper pail isn’t bulky or wide, it has a narrow design which can fit in between furniture, or other tight spaces. No need for a diaper pail to take up a lot of space. And just because it saves space doesn’t mean it doesn’t hold a lot of diapers, because it does! It held all the diapers and wipes we used for the entire week as well as some tissues that got tossed in along the way.

    Ubbi Garbage Bag Insert

Of course, the big plus is the fact you don’t need to buy any expensive refill bags. With my old diaper pail I had to replace bags every 2-3 days, they never held very much. You can use whatever garbage bags you normally buy and they fit perfectly inside. Ubbi even has this great video to show you how to install a garbage bag on their website. Even though it’s super easy to do, the video is impressive and interesting to watch.

Ubbi does a fantastic job of locking the stink inside the pail. The cover stays down the whole time you are using the diaper pail and you only have to open the sliding door to drop in the folded diaper. When you are done you close the sliding door and lock it. That way little fingers won’t be able to open the lid. It locks the latch and keeps the smell in. Fantastic!

    Ubbi Sliding Door

When the diaper pail is full and you are taking the bag out, that’s when you really appreciate just how great Ubbi is at locking in the smell. Wow-e! And unlike my other pail, because Ubbi is made of steel, it doesn’t retain any odors.

The Ubbi diaper pail not only looks great, holds a lot of diapers, locks in the smell, but it also saves a bunch of money! I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t like to save a little green every now and then.

    Ubbi Diaper Pail Bag Removed

Win it: One lucky person will win an Ubbi Diaper Pail in their choice of color during the Labor Day: Ready to POP Giveaway Hop, from September 7th to 21st. Be sure to come back to enter!

Thanks, Amber! I am super happy with mine! And on a related note... the diaper I am putting into the diaper pail in the picture was the extremely stuffed OVERNIGHT diaper! And it still fit without being squished! Love it!

This looks awesome! I have tried to tell friends and family that I didn't think the diaper pails I have seen before work really well.... I have been to many family members/friends' houses where they use them and don't empty them regularly and the smell in the room still takes your breath away. I really love the looks of this one though!!! I love that it is made with steel and that is more oblong shaped. They colors are very pretty too! We cloth diaper and I'm wondering if I could use this with them.... since you can add regular bags, I'm thinking you could just put the wet bag inside it. Definitely something I want to check out!!

I really love the fact that it is made of steel. Not only is it so much more sturdy than a plastic pale but it will also not absorb the odors! This would be awesome because it would last longer and therefore be cost saving as well!

We didn't even get a diaper pail with either of our girls. I couldn't see paying for all those refills when I had a friend with a plastic one that she hated. We just use a regular trash can. Buy that's not so great at holding in the smell when you have a 5yrs-old playing with the foot lever!

Nearly all I have read has been great things about this particular item. It will go to a great home; it will be that answer to a much needed item! It does deliver that of a great answer to be reassured that its made of steel - a durable worthy metal thats sure to last for time to come. This will serve a purpose while making that of the diapers disappear! And I would suggest to anyone going to a baby shower to get this for a gift - the parent are sure to love it!

I like this, it's a great thing to use, and I like the fact you don't have to buy special bags. That's why people don't like diaper pails the bags can be quite expensive and the oder is awful. I like the way it's made and the many colors offered.

Love the fact that it needs no special bags. I like how many colors it comes in and that it's made of steel instead of plastic.

Have you ever used a Diaper Genie? I would like to know how they compare if you have! We had one and I'm not sure what we did wrong but it eventually started to stink (obviously we were regularly changing the bags and stuff). Maybe we needed to replace some sort of deodorizer but we had no idea until it was too late. SO GROSS! So now we just make the trek out to the garage trash can with every diaper change. LOL

I switched to a metal diaper pail for my son after his plastic pail leaked odors. It has made a world of difference! Baby girl will definitely have a metal pail in her nursery as well! I love that Ubbi can be used with cloth as well.

LOVE this! So many great color options too so it's not an eye sore in your nursery! Plus anything that traps dirty diaper smells is awesome!

I have been checking reviews on diaper pails because my little guy is just way beyond stinky, lol. I have no idea how someone so sweet and tiny can make such an unbelievably strong stinky diaper!! It's just crazy! So, anyway, I am trying to find the best one because I definitely need it. I think this is it. I love the different colors and that it eliminates the odors...I had a plastic one that I threw away because it was terrible...
I just love this one! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful info!! You helped me finally make my decision...my husband thanks you too. I think he is so sick of hearing about the pros and cons of different diaper pails, lol!!

After reading your review complete with great photos, I can understand why your husband said that it was a cool looking diaper pail. I love that the Ubbi diaper pail is in steel (I hate how the plastic ones do retain the stinky odor). So many great color choices. Wow, it can hold a lot of soiled diapers! Love that it is narrow so it doesn't take up a lot of space.

I love how these look! I almost got one of the plastic diaper-sausage pails that you tried, but I'm glad someone talked me out of it! 🙂 I'd love to try one of these.
