If you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort this fall, don't miss out on the best Disney Halloween Party! Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is happening now and your whole family will love it.
On select nights from August 16 – November 1, 2019, Disney is offering one of my favorite events of the year, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (NSSHP). What's so special about this party? A lot actually! This is a special ticketed event (meaning a regular park ticket, hopper, or season pass won't grant you access to this event). But, with special events come a lot of special perks. Like being able to wear a costume into Magic Kindgom! Check out our DIY Toy Story Jessie Costume, family Toy Story Costumes, our family Incredibles costumes, and our family Peter Pan costumes for ideas.
Really quick, I wanted to mention something new this year. Now you can attend MNSSHP as many times as you'd like with the "Not So Scary Pass." This special party pass costs $299 (+ tax) for ages 10+, and $284 + tax for ages 3-9 (2 and under remain free). You can ask for these passes at the ticket window or by calling the special events number at (407) 827-7185 or (407) 939-4295.
Okay, not onto the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tips! The party officially starts at 7 PM and runs until 12 AM, but ticket holders can start entering the park at 4 PM. I recommend getting there as early as possible so you can take advantage of the full time offered. Once you enter the park, you'll be given a special wristband so cast members know you're part of the party, and you can head in. You'll be led to the right and will proceed through a special entrance where you'll have special photo opportunities and you'll get your treat bags and some candy.
Disney really goes all out for their parties, so keep an eye out for all the magical decorations that are brought out for this season.
As soon as you enter the park, you'll get to see all of the cool merchandise that's offered for the Halloween season and particularly for MNSSHP. Be sure to buy what you like while you're there because you might not see it again.
Be sure to grab a map for the evening upon entering the park. There are general park maps, but you'll want the NSSHP map so that all of the special party perks are marked, especially the trick-or-treat stations.
Trick-or-Treat stops will be clearly marked on the map by an orange Mickey head. Try to hit them all if you can! The same types of candy are given out at most places, but there are special stations that hand out treats like seasonal GoGo squeeZ pouches.
Be prepared to get a lot of candy! The cast members hand out multiple pieces of candy to each guest so your bags will fill up quickly. You can ask for additional bags if necessary. Also, if you have a good allergy, be sure to ask for the special teal bag. Instead of candy at each station, you'll receive a token that you can later trade-in for all sorts of goodies. This post on Traveling Mom has all the details on that.
As you're trick-or-treating, you're going to want to hit all of your favorite rides. Several different rides throughout the park receive special enhancements during the Halloween Party so be sure to check those out.
One of my kids' favorite parts of MNSSHP was the DescenDANCE party at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.
There's also a brand new fireworks display for MNSSHP. Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular is here and features Jack Skellington and tons of projection effects, lasers, light, and fireworks.
If you're a PhotoPass fan (and if you're not, you will be!), you'll be pleased to know that there are over 30 PhotoPass opportunities throughout the park. I love the professional quality of the PhotoPass photos and the extra magic they can add.
And, you can't pay a visit to Magic Kingdom without witnessing a parade! We love the Mickey's"Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Twice nightly, the Headless Horseman kicks things off for this 20-minute long parade. Be sure to line up a bit early to get a decent spot for viewing.
You'll likely see all of your favorite Disney friends like Mickey and Minnie, The Incredibles, Buzz Lightyear, Wreck-It-Ralph, and Vanelope. You'll also see a slew of Disney Villians.
My family had such a great time at this event and I hope that you'll grab a ticket while you can! Get even more detail and your tickets on the Walt Disney World Resort website.

I would love to take my grandkids to this Halloween bash. It looks like the most fun I have seen. Passes look like a deal to check out.
