Chicken with white wine butter sauce has been a family favorite recipe for years. I've partnered with Perdue Farms to share this recipe and some information about their direct-to-consumer boxes that are available now.
Chicken is the staple protein in our home. We eat it several times a week in different forms and I'm always looking to find the best deal on the highest quality meat possible. So, when Perdue Farms reached out to me about their new direct-to-consumer offerings, I was all in. Getting organic, quality protein delivered right to my door without the hassle of going to the grocery store? Yes, please!
Perdue Farms just launched a website where you can order chicken and other premium proteins directly to your house, skipping the middle man. You're probably already familiar with Perdue thanks to their reputation in the poultry world, but they've got so much more to offer now. They've got beef, pork and more thanks to their other brands, including Niman Ranch, Coleman Natural, Panorama Meats, Spot Farms, Full Moon and of course Perdue Chicken and Perdue Harvestland.
2020 marks Perdue Farms' 100th anniversary. This company has been working with small farmers for a century to bring consumers the high-quality proteins while treating animals with care. Perdue Farms is passionate about farming, land preservation, and healthy and nutritious food and it shows.
One of the very first things I noticed about my shipment was the packaging. Since Perdue Farms is committed to being a thoughtful steward of the environment, they've taken several steps to ensure they're reducing their carbon footprint when delivering these packages to your door. For every bundle shipped, they'll make a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation, which works to replant damaged areas of our nation’s forests. The cardboard packing is made from 100% recycled material and then you can recycle the box once you've unpacked it. Instead of styrofoam or some other insulation that will sit in our landfills, Perdue Farms uses Green Cell Foam®, an eco-friendly packaging that's biodegradable, compostable, and made from high-grade non-GMO cornstarch so it dissolves in water. I seriously love this! To keep it frozen they use dry ice and my box was delivered in perfect condition. To top it off, you'll also receive a reusable and recyclable grocery bag with every purchase and a pollinator seed packet with every order.
Here's my Perdue Farms unboxing video:

This chicken bundle included an awesome variety of organic chicken. That means it's antibiotic-free (No Antibiotics Ever), non-GMO, and certified humane. The bundle is priced at $81.99 on the site, which is a 10% bundle discount vs. purchasing all products individually. This is quite a deal for organic protein. You'll also get free shipping on orders over $119.
I couldn't wait to get started using this organic chicken. I love how the items are vacuum-sealed for freshness and they're split into smaller portions so you aren't stuck defrosting 3 pounds of chicken breasts at once. To make my mom's chicken with white wine butter sauce, I needed 4 breasts so I used two out of the three packages sent to me.
This recipe is fairly easy to make and everyone in my family gobbles it up! Even my kids and they're pretty picky eaters. The chicken comes out so tender that you can usually cut it with a fork.
For this recipe, we like to use seasoned Italian bread crumbs since a lot of herbs and flavors have already been added. It makes it that much easier. Lots of butter and a touch of white wine makes for a perfect sauce to pour over the chicken while baking.
The end result is a perfectly cooked, tender chicken breast that everyone will love. I pair this dish with mashed potatoes, roasted fingerling potatoes or rice, along with a vegetable to round out the meal.
Chicken with White Wine Butter Sauce
A delicious, tender chicken dish with a white wine butter sauce.

- 1.5 cups seasoned Italian breadcrumbs
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan/ Asiago / Romano cheese blend could use just Parmesan if preferred
- 1.5 tbsp garlic powder use more or less to taste
- 1.5 sticks butter
- 0.5 cup dry white wine
- 0.25 cups fresh parsley chopped
- 0.33 cups green onions chopped

Butterfly chicken breasts and pound them out so they're thin and tender.
Mix seasoned Italian bread crumbs, grated cheese, and garlic powder in a bowl or plate.
Dip pieces of chicken in butter, then coat them with bread crumb mixture. Lay them on a rimmed cookie sheet or in a baking dish.
Set aside leftover butter while you put the chicken in the oven.
Add dry white wine, chopped green onions, and fresh parsley to the butter and let it simmer on very low heat while chicken cooks.
Allow chicken to cook for 30 minutes or until they're golden brown, then pour the butter and wine mixture over the chicken and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
