Skip those store-bought granola bars! I've partnered with GNC Earth Genius to share a smarter homemade chewy granola bar recipe. As always, all opinions are my own. Please note, The US Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated these statements. These products and statements are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

My kids eat granola bars like they're going out of style, and if I'm being honest, I eat my fair share of them too. Not only are store-bought granola bars expensive, they can also be full of preservatives and artificial ingredients. That's why I'm excited to share this chewy granola bar recipe that's a much smarter option than store-bought bars, all thanks to GNC Earth Genius SuperFoods Supreme.

As I mentioned in my SuperFoods Smoothie recipe, with the GNC Earth Genius line, I feel like I've been able to finally take control of my nutrition. Their comprehensive line of supplements gives me all the things that I want, like a blend of fruits, veggies, greens, adaptogenic mushrooms, and prebiotics, without artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners that I try to avoid. The is also non-GMO and gluten-free.

Since my son is such a picky eater, I've been looking for ways to add nutrition into his diet. Adding GNC Earth Genius SuperFoods Supreme to an easy homemade granola bar recipe to make chewy granola bars seemed like the perfect solution. It's packed with a wholesome blend of fruits, veggies, mushrooms, and sprouts, and it includes enzymes and VitaFiber,™ a vegetarian prebiotic to support the growth of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract. These bars were so easy to make, I can't believe I hadn't done it sooner!

    rolled oats to toast

The first thing you'll need to do is toast your oats; and possibly your nut mixture, depending on which kind of nuts you choose. I chose a blend of nuts and dried fruit for snacking so they didn't need to be toasted. I think it's important to add some dried fruit so the mixed berry flavor of the Superfoods Supreme makes sense.

melted butter and honey and brown suguar

While your oats are toasting, you'll combine your butter, brown sugar, honey, vanilla, and salt in a saucepan on the stove. This is what gives the bars their yummy, chewy texture.

    superfoods supreme

Once you combine everything, you'll have the most fabulous homemade, no-bake chewy granola bars. I used a rectangular dish and was able to get 10 bars out of it. Thanks to the SuperFoods Supreme, these bars are genius compared to boxed granola bars!

    granola bar comparison

The SuperFoods Supreme is so versatile and you can add it recipes, smoothies, or even just a glass of water. It's a genius way to get an additional nutrient boost in your diet. During the month of March, all . Now is the time to try it for yourself.

    Chewy Granola Bars

This chewy granola bar recipe is so easy you'll wonder why you didn't make them sooner!

    Course Snack
    Prep Time 15 minutes
    Cooling time 2 hours
    Total Time 15 minutes
    Servings 8

    Ingredients

    • 2.5 cups Rolled Oats
    • ½ cup Nuts (can be toasted or not) Almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts, etc.
    • ½ cup Dried fruit Cranberries, cherries, raisins, etc.
    • ½ cup Honey Add extra as needed.
    • 3 tbsp Butter
    • ⅓ cup Brown sugar
    • ½ cup Mini chocolate chips
    • 2 scoops GNC Earth Genius Superfoods Supreme Berry Flavor
    • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
    • ¼ tsp Salt

    Instructions

    1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees and toast your oats on a cookie sheet (I used a silicone mat on the cookie sheet) for 10 minutes.

    2. Spray a rectangular baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.

    3. Add honey, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and salt to a saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. Once the butter is fully melted, mix well and remove from the heat.

    4. Chop your nuts and dried fruit.

    5. Add oats, nuts, dried fruit, and Superfoods Supreme to a bowl. Pour your wet ingredients over and stir well to combine all ingredients.

    6. Once the mixture has cooled, add the chocolate chips.

    7. Pour the mixture into the sprayed baking dish and pat it down until it's flat.

    8. Place the dish into the refrigerator and let chill for 2-3 hours.

    9. Once chilled, cut into bars and serve.

    Recipe Notes

Feel free to add any other mix-in you'd like to this recipe. You can take out the chocolate chips and add more fruit, coconut flakes, or any other ingredient you'd like!

I would much rather give my grandchildren these granola bars than the store bought ones that have so many extra ingredients and preservatives.

This is such a great idea!! We often can't have store granola bars because of shared lines (my kids have peanut allergies). We've never tried making our own, but it would be an awesome way to get the kids involved and make sure they are safe for them. Sounds like a great way to save money too!
