All About Tieks by Gavrieli Flats

Interested in Tieks by Gavrieli ballet flats? If you've got questions, I've got answers! I'm talking all about Tieks and answering your questions. Don't see your question addressed? Drop it in the comments!

    tieks by gavrieli

    What are Tieks?

Simply put, Tieks are amazing designer flats that are crafted from the finest Italian leathers and designed to fold in half to fit inside your purse. Not only are these foldable flats fashionable and chic. They come in an array of bright colors and prints with signature blue soles. They're also extremely comfortable and designed to be worn all day long.

How much are Tieks by Gavrieli Ballet Flats?

Tieks by Gavrieli flats range in price from $175 to $345. I know, that sounds expensive, but no shortcuts are taken when making these ballet flats. It takes over 150 steps and 3 days to complete each pair. They're pure quality.

Are Tieks worth the price tag?

In my opinion, absolutely! They are worth every penny to me. I wear them almost daily and have absolutely no complaints. Tieks are the only flats that I can wear all day without discomfort, blisters or deep red marks. Plus, the craftsmanship is amazing.

    tieks

Do you have a Tieks review?

Yes, yes I do. You can read my full Tieks review to get all the details on why women are obsessed with these designer flats. You can see how versatile they are in my post about why every woman needs a little blue stripe in her wardrobe.

With all these choices, how do I pick the perfect pair of Tieks?

I've got some great recommendations! Just check out my post about how to pick the perfect pair of Tieks shoes to see tons of "in real life" photos and side by side comparisons of popular choices. I've got over 20 pairs of Tieks so there's a lot of eye candy in that post.

Holding out for a Tieks sale or Tieks discount?

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Tieks do not go on sale and they do not offer Tieks discount codes or Tieks coupon codes.

Wondering where to buy Tieks shoes?

You can only buy these beautiful ballet flats directly from www.tieks.com. Don't be fooled by knock-off Tieks or fake Tieks flats; get the real deal directly from the site. No retailers carry Tieks, so you'll have to order them from the Boutiek. They offer free shipping and have an amazing return and exchange policy so there's no harm in trying them out (just be sure you don't wear them outside if you might need to exchange or return).

    care for your tieks

How do you take care of your Tieks to make sure they'll last?

I've got a whole post detailing how to care for Tieks. I go over leather cleaners, leather conditioners, how to add moleskin to Tieks and why you might want to, insoles, and more. If you're specifically wondering about polish, just check out my post about how to polish Tieks leather ballet flats. I go over where to buy the polish and which color you need for which pair of Tieks.

    tieks bag

    Are Tieks good for travel?

Tieks by Gavrieli flats are GREAT for travel. I wrote an entire post about why I love Tieks are the best flats for travel. They come with their very own storage bag so you can fold them up and tuck them into your purse or luggage. I've taken them all over the country and to tropical beach vacations. I know a lot of ladies who have taken them to Europe and beyond too.

What are the best no-show socks for Tieks?

I've found that Vero Monte no-show socks work best for flats like Tieks. I've tested several pairs and break this topic down even more in my post about no-show socks for ballet flats so be sure to check that out. I also make recommendations for insoles if you'd prefer those (I do!).

Do Tieks make a good gift?

Yes! Not only can you sent a physical pair of Tieks, you can e-gift a particular pain in case you don't know the recipient's size. Or you can send an e-gift card or a physical gift card. I go all over all of these options in my post about why they're the perfect gift for women.

Do Tieks work for wide feet?

Tieks can work for all types of feet. The leather can stretch a bit to mold to your foot. If you're a half size, you may need to order a size up. You can always reach out to Tieks customer service with questions and don't forget that they've got a fantastic return/exchange policy.

    Do Tieks fit over bunions?

Yes, I think Tieks do work with bunions. A lot of women report that Tieks are the only brand of flats that fit over their bunions. This is definitely the case for my mom.

I hope this guide about Tieks by Gavrielli flats has been helpful!

I would love to have a pair or anything that would help with the pain from plantar fasciitis. I work on my feet all day & dress up for my job. Help! Could these beauties possibly be my answer to not so much heel pain?

Hi! I'm in awe of your tieks collection! I just got my first pair for Mother's Day in coral patent, and I'm finding that they really hurt around the joint of my big toe where the leather and stitching are gathered - I saw somewhere (I'm not sure if it was this post or another) that you have size 9s - so do I... I usually wear 8.5 but sometimes go up to 9, and I wish I had a pair of 8s to try on and compare... Anyway, I was curious where that seam falls for you - for the foot that it really bothers me on, it falls right outside that big toe joint (towards the inside edge of the foot) and closer to the toe tip than the center of the foot - I wonder if I had sized down if it would cover that joint and hurt less. I also wonder if I should try some that aren't patent (if only I hadn't worn them to church and around the house to break them in!) What are your thoughts?

Hi Kobi! My patents don't bother me at all, but you could definitely try a shoe stretcher to stretch that area only. There are some on Amazon that have these little balls for pressure points and you can place them in the area that feels a little tight. This is the one I'm referring to: http://amzn.to/2qsLpSL

If the 9's feel good length wise, I wouldn't second guess your self with sizing. The classics might not bother you at all though. My classics always feel great right out of the box.

      Hi!
I bought my first pair of Tieks 2 months ago, a black matte pair and after wearing awhile have stretched perfectly yo fit my feet. I just got another pair 2 weeks ago in bronze and they are the same size but feel too tight (they actually hurt around my toes) and are not stretching the same. Has anyone else ever had this? Should I reorder another pair in the same size? I'm afraid the next size up will be too big especially on m heals since the black is perfect. Do certain leathers stretch differently on Tieks? Thoughts?

Hi Adele! Since each pair is made by hand I think there is slight variation for each pair. If the Bronze feels tight, you might try to order another pair (in the same size) and see if those fit better. Otherwise, you could try a shoe stretcher that can specifically stretch certain areas, like this one (amazon affiliate link): http://amzn.to/2rMBbKZ

Hi, Ruth! I LOVE all the information you've gathered and posted! I am about to purchase my first pair of Tieks. I am leaning toward the Romantic Blush. Do you have this color? If so, how do you like its versatility with different color outfits? Also, how long do you think a pair will last if worn regularly? I'm wondering how the sole and the heel wear. Thanks much! ~ Barbara

Hi Barbara! Romantic Blush is beautiful and pretty versatile since it's a mix of pale pink and silver scales. I've been wearing my Cardinal Red Tieks 1-2 per week for almost 2 years and they're still beautiful. I do polish them if I have scuffs, but other than that I think they're pretty low maintenance. One thing I would note is that I don't rest my heel when I drive so I don't get scuffs on the back on my Tieks. If you do rest your heel, you might want to kick your Tieks off when you drive since the pressure can scuff the soft leather. Hope that helps and that you love your Tieks when you get them!

Hi Jacqueine, I live in Florida and have only noticed my feet sweating a few times (once on an airplane, and not sure that had anything to do with heat//humidity). Even if they do sweat, they don't smell and the insole just darkens a bit. Not a big deal at all to me. Hope that helps!

Your color/comparison charts have helped me to pick my first two pairs of Tieks-Ballerina Pink & California Navy. L O V E them!
For anyone else reading this-I'm a size 8/8.5, and wear a size 8 Tieks. Are they worth it?? Absolutely! I've tried to wear numerous brands of ballet flats, but none of them fit my feet properly. After reading many positive reviews, I decided to take a chance. So glad I did! Also, I'll be adding moleskin to them very soon.

Hi Patti! I haven't personally visited Europe since having Tieks, but I've heard from a lot of ladies that have said they've worked great. I think it would be best to get a classic color that has a good polish match though since the roadways can be uneven you might get some scuffs.

Hi Lisa, I've got an article linked that shows you how to add moleskin and why you might want to. Basically, just to decrease the wear of your big toe on the top of the toe box. Some pairs show that "toe bump" more than others and over time it can make the leather thinner.

      Hi Ruth,
I just bought my first pair of Tieks. I normally wear a size 7 1/2 I bought a 8 in Tieks (Black Matte) and the shoe was very tight around my left and right larger toe leaving indentations and my toes were almost were at the end of the shoes. I exchanged them for a size 9 which are a little bit more roomier and feel better. Do the shoes stretch anymore? If so what should I expect? Would you recommend buying a no show sock to take up a bit of room in the shoe?

      Thanks for your help!

Hi Andrea! They shouldn't stretch any more than you need them to. If your foot isn't reaching the end of the shoe and applying pressure then they shouldn't stretch any further. I'd definitely recommend a thin insole or no-show sock (I prefer insoles, but have both). Here are two posts about those: https://www.vivaveltoro.com/insoles-for-flats/ and https://www.vivaveltoro.com/best-no-show-socks-for-flats/

I wanted to live my tieks but even
MY thin arch support doesn’t fit in them. I have high arches and my 3/4 professional orthotics do not fit in the shoe w my foot. I wish they would
Build in arch support like other shoes that cost half the price. Do you know any solutions or high arches or if the company will ever add support. My feet fall in without the arch support.

They will mold to your feet over time, but some people stretch that area slightly with a golf ball or rolled socks (or a shoe stretcher - I talk about that here: https://www.vivaveltoro.com/how-to-stretch-leather-shoes/)
