As a busy mom I have trouble making sure I eat enough fruits and vegetables every day. These simple smoothie recipes are a great way to get the nutrients I need and they're so easy to make. I recently started making smoothies with the Nutri Ninja® Blender System with Auto-iQ™. Here are three of my favorite smoothie recipes and an opportunity to win this amazing blender system!
Thanks to Ninja for sending me this amazing blender system!
Smoothies have always been a favorite in our house. Whether I'm making a post work-out snack, a quick breakfast, or trying to sneak more veggies into my daughter's diet, blended drinks are a delicious way to get a few servings of fruits and vegetables. Ninja has the perfect blender system for making all our favorite smoothie recipes and I'm excited to share those with you as well as a full review of their Nutri Ninja Blender System with Auto-iQ.
Simple Smoothie Recipes
Are you interested in green smoothies but haven't made the leap yet? I know that I found them intimidating when I started because I wasn't sure what fruits would taste good with a handful of greens. Here's an easy recipe that's super high in Vitamin C and is just a few ingredients!
Tropical Green Smoothie
2 cups pineapple
1 cup mango
1 cup spinach
10 ice cubes
Place all ingredients in the Ninja blender pitcher and press the Frozen Drinks/Smoothies button
This smoothie is a great source for Vitamin C, A, B6, E, K, manganese, and iron. It's so fruity tasting and besides the color you'd never know that it contains greens. I love making this when we need an extra boost of Vitamin C to stay healthy. It's also great for digestion! With the combination of Ninja's Auto-iQ technology and their Total Extraction® technology I know that we're getting the maximum nutrition from our produce and the whole blending sequence only takes a minute! It's so fast and the Auto-iQ is just amazing. Because it has pre-programmed settings with unique blending patterns, you never have to stir or push ingredients down. You just push a button and it does all the work for you.
The blender pitcher has a convenient pour spout so we don't have the mess of removing the lid to put our smoothies in glasses. One of the other great features about the lid is that it clicks into place so you know it's on tight and has a push-button release to take the lid off.
Most of the time I use the 72 oz. blender pitcher when I make smoothies because I'll do a big batch for myself, my husband, and my daughter. The Nutri Ninja Blender System also comes with 18, 24, and 32 oz. cups that you can make your smoothies in when you're doing a smaller amount.
I love the cups because you can fill one with your ingredients, attach the Pro Extractor Blades®, push one button, and you've got a delicious smoothie. Then you just remove the blade and replace it with the Sip & Seal lid and you can take it on-the-go!
Another recipe that we love is a smoothie staple-strawberry banana! But, there's a twist! I always add a cup of carrots and my daughter doesn't have any clue. I also love it because it takes a LOT for me to eat a whole cup of carrots but when I can drink them in a smoothie they're much easier to take.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie (with a twist!)
1 cup strawberries
2 bananas
1 cup almond milk
1 cup carrots
Place all ingredients in 24 oz. Ninja cup and press the Nutri Ninja Blend Button
We love this smoothie because it tastes great, we usually have all the ingredients at home, and it's packed with nutrition. Our blender demolishes the carrots with no issue-like I said, my family doesn't even know I put them in! The Nutri Ninja boasts nutrient and vitamin extraction and I know that we're getting more nutritious smoothies when we can add things like carrots or nuts that we wouldn't eat otherwise. One thing I love about our Ninja is that the machine does all the work for you. It knows which attachment I've put on so it lights up the blending options I can use-I can never mess it up.
Super Day-Starter Smoothie
2 ripe bananas
1 avocado, pitted
1 cup almond milk
½ cup plain yogurt
8 ice cubes
2 Tbsp nut butter (we like almond butter)
2 Tbsp raw honey (optional, for sweetness)
Place all ingredients in the Ninja blender pitcher and press the Frozen Drinks/Smoothies button
This is one of my favorite smoothies to make for breakfast. It's packed with nutrition and good fats which I'm always trying to get our daughter to eat. Aside from the creaminess, you wouldn't even know there's a whole avocado in this smoothie. We love to add raw honey instead of sugar to give it some sweetness and the Ninja blends it in so smoothly, as well as the almond butter.
The Nutri Ninja Blender System with Auto-iQ came with a book that includes over 75 recipes and I can't wait to make some of their suggestions for smoothies. The book also includes tons of recipes for other menu items you can make including soups, dips, and drinks!
Not only does this system come with the large blender pitcher and three blender cups, it also contains a 64 oz. food processor bowl and a dough blade. There are so many things that I'll be using my Nutri Ninja Blender System for and I can't wait to share more of the recipes with you! I think I'll be making a fresh salsa this upcoming week with tomatoes from our garden and I can't wait to see how the food processor chops the ingredients without mushing them.
