Zootopia Toys and Books Helps Keep the Fun Going After the Movie Ends!

    Zootopia Toys, Books, and More!

Disney has an excellent product line of Zootopia toys, books, and more to help extend the fun after the movie ends. I got to preview several of the products at the Zootopia Event at Walt Disney World Resort and they were a big hit with my child.

My son loves Disney. It all started when he was very young and I'd let him watch "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" in the morning. Although he was too young to talk, he'd had a real, genuine excited response whenever he saw Mickey Mouse. We bought him a little stuffed Mickey and he'd hug it and coo. Then, when he was a little older, we introduced him to the magic of Walt Disney Animation Studios / Pixar and showed him "Toy Story." He was totally enchanted, and after watching it so many times that I'd had it memorized, I downloaded "Toy Story 2" and "Toy Story 3" to our Disney Movies Anywhere account so we'd have them available everywhere. Of course, we had to get him some of the "Toy Story" character toys and he just adored them. He brought them everywhere and it was just the sweetest thing to see. That is precisely what I love about Disney products. They are a natural and perfect extension of the films that we know and love and help our kids to extend the fun long past the movies' ending.

On my recent trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for the Zootopia Event, I was treated to a large package of Zootopia toys and books for my toddler. I had a feeling he was going to love them and I was right. I barely made it through the door of our house before he was rummaging through my bags for Zootopia swag.

Just look at all these Zootopia toys and books!

When I say that my son went nuts, that would be an understatement. He's only seen the trailers for Zootopia at this point (the movie hits theaters March 4th!), but there is just something about these characters that he was totally attracted to.

I knew the Disney Zootopia Plush Characters would be the first to be snatched up and they certainly were. Even my 9-month-old daughter got in on the action! These figures feature soft plush sculpturing so they're perfectly huggable.

We had a Funko Pop figure from Big Hero 6 and my son played with it every single day for weeks on end. So, when I unveiled this Funko Pop Zootopia characters he immediately broke into them! Not only are these vinyl characters adorable, they're so durable and almost impossible for little ones to destroy.

If your kid is anything like mine, they might even like the display box just as much as the toy. We've spent the last few days taking Judy Hopps and Nicke Wilde in and out of the packaging and who knew that would be so much fun for my toddler?!

Another big winner with us was the Funko Zootopia Vinyl Figure Mystery Minis. We ended up with one of Mr. Big's bodyguards and my son performed a whole scene with his Funko figures. These are a bit smaller than the Funko Pop figures, but they go together well.

My son loves pocket-sized toys and these Zootopia Figure Sets are just the right size for his little hands. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are both fully poseable so he can make them do all sorts of things during imaginative playtime. They're available in 5 different sets of two.

If you've got a little reader, he or she will really love the Zootopia storybooks. My son especially loved the 8"x8" paperback Zootopia Read-Along Storybook & CD. The book is beautifully illustrated and includes a CD so your child can follow along. Let me tell you, this book follows the storyline of Zootopia exactly so it's a great way to relive the story over and over again (as we al know that kids like to do!).

    zootopia books

I have to say that the Zootopia: Judy Hopps and the Missing Jumbo-Pop hardcover book was my personal favorite. It's a cute mystery story that's easy to read and the illustrations are so cute and whimsical. See that CD up there? The Zootopia Soundtrack contains the entire score for the movie, including the hit new song from Shakira, "Try Everything". Once you hear that song it will invade your brain in the best way possible. It's so upbeat and uplifting and my little guy loves it!

Once your kids see Zootopia, they're going to want Judy Hopps' Carrot Recorder Pen. This carrot pen recorder has a special function to record and play fun phrases from the movie. My little guy kept putting it in his pocket and pretended to write us tickets. It was hysterical and he got such a kick out of it.

    nick wilde infinity

We also got to take home a Nick Wilde Disney Infinity Figure. Since my little guy is only 3.5, we don't have Infinity yet, but my nieces do and they were thrilled to add Nick Wilde to their collection.

We were thrilled with the selection of Zootopia toys, books, and CD that we received from our friends at Disney and I know we'll be enjoying them for years to come. Be sure to check out full Zootopia review where I touch on 3 things your kids will learn from the movie. I've also got insights from Zootopia directors. Plus, I've got interviews with Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps! See what Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin said about the film.

    Official Information for Zootopia:

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”), opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.
