Get ready to meet your new favorite sweet treat. This DIY choco taco is a hit! My family had been working on creating the perfect waffle cone recipe and we nailed it! Then, we decided to get creative and made waffle bowls and waffle cone tacos.
I've got to admit, I thought the waffle cones were pretty fantastic. Don't they look amazing?
We also made some pretty great waffle bowls using this same waffle cone recipe. All you'll need is a waffle cone maker and the recipe below! What I love about the CucinaPro Waffle Cone and Bowl Maker is that it cooks them up in under 2 minutes and it comes with a bowl shaper. To make the choco tacos you're going to have to get a little more creative to make that shape.
Make Your Own Ice Cream Taco
With the taco craze that is currently taking place, it just made sense to try and create one of my favorite ice cream desserts, the choco taco! The result? This amazing waffle cone taco shell. I simply dipped the edges into melted chocolate and then dipped it into coconut for this version, but feel free to get creative and do whatever your heart desires!
I added Butterfinger ice cream to my custom choco taco, but you could add whatever you'd like.

Ingredients
- ⅔ cup flour
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup sugar granulated
- 4 Tablespoons butter melted
- ¼ cup chocolate Greek yogurt
- ⅓ cup cocoa
- pinch salt
- 1 cup chocolate melting candy
Instructions
-
Cream the eggs and sugar for one minute.
-
Add remaining ingredients and stir until combined.
-
Pour ¼ cup of batter onto waffle cone maker and cook for 2 minutes.
-
Immediately place warm waffle around a hard taco shell and let cool for 3-5 minutes.
-
When cool, dip the edges into warmed chocolate candy and set aside to let harden. Tip: placing the cooling taco on top of a large cup will let the chocolate harden untouched.
Isn't it a beauty?!

Oh these sound delicious! They remind me of the choco tacos that I used to eat as a kid. I am definitely going to have to make these before Summer is over. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
