Can You Use a Step2 Water Table Indoors? YES!

While we generally think of water tables as outside toys, they're actually super fun to play with inside too! Because it's STILL winter here in Minnesota, we decided to try out our new Step2 water table indoors. Here's a look at the brand new Step2 Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table and how much FUN my kids had with it!

    Step2 Water Table

Using a Step2 Water Table Indoors

Last winter was hard for me because I had a newborn and a two-year-old, so we didn't do much at all. Not only did we not leave the house, but we also didn't do a lot beside watch cartoons on Netflix and nap. Now, I don't think it's bad to do that some days but I like to do more when I can. Our kids are three and one now, and it's so much easier to find things to do indoors this winter.

    Step2 Water Table

Step2 was gracious enough to send us one of their NEW water tables and the kids couldn't wait to get it out of the box. The Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table was fairly easy to put together. It would have been simpler with another set of adult hands (when attaching the legs for the top portion) but it was doable by myself. As soon as I had it put together the kids wanted to play with it. Since the temp that day was about 12 degrees (yay Minnesota winters, ha!) there was no way it was going outside. I set it up in our dining room with some towels underneath. We filled it with luke-warm water from the tub and the kids got right into it!

There's one thing about this Step2 water table that's different from anything I've seen before. It's got a waterfall tray above the main basin to make real rainfall! Our three-year-old LOVES it, and spends most of her time filling the top portion to make it rain.

    Step2 Water Table

Another fun feature of this Step2 water table is the maze section on the side. It allows kids to experience cause and effect by placing the four pieces into the wall. Then they pour water from the included bucket into the top portion and watch how the pieces are affected as it rains down!

    step2 water table

The Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table has plenty of room for multiple kids to play. Our kids loved peeking at each other through the rainfall and I'm sure they'll have fun using the water table with friends too.

    step2 water table

As with all Step2 toys, there are so many adorable details on this water table. It comes with 13 accessories including a bucket, cups, and three squirt toys. We didn't do any squirting in the house but you can launch the squirt toys into the table using the flipper on the side!

    step2 water table

Our little guy loved the slotted spoon and was amazed by the water pouring out of it every time he lifted it up. Can you say easy entertainment!?

    step2 water table

There are so many things to love about this Step2 water table and it was SO fun to play with indoors. Once it's summer we'll take it outside and use it to beat the heat, but for now it's a great sensory activity for the cold winter days. My kids really had a blast and the clean up was easy. We threw the wet towels in the laundry and drained the water table into buckets to pour out.

You can absolutely use a Step2 water table indoors for a different type of entertainment! Since we first played with the water table indoors, my daughter has asked every day to bring it out again. We've used it multiple times with a couple towels underneath and it's provided hours of fun already!

BUY IT: You can purchase the Step2 Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table on their site or from our affiliate Amazon.
