Rumparooz Diaper Review!

Rumparooz is a one-size pocket diaper made to fit babies from 6.5-35+ pounds. There are 4 rise settings (newborn, small, medium, and large). They're available in both Aplix and Snaps. I chose Aplix because Rumparooz has some of the best Aplix on the market. It's super strong and keeps its stickiness! I love Aplix diapers because they make diaper changes SO much easier and you can get such a great fit. Unfortunately, some of the other diapers on the market have such terrible Aplix it turns people off to it in general. If you're in the market for a daddy or daycare friendly Aplix diaper you should definitely consider Rumparooz cloth diapers!

Rumparooz Diaper

The newborn setting is really tiny! In the photos below you can see how small the leg openings can get. I think this could definitely fit a 6.5 pound baby.

The outside of the diaper is made of soft, waterproof TPU which is solvent-free and biodegradable. The inside of the diaper is made of hypoallergenic, no-pill microchamois. It will give your baby a nice stay dry effect. There are also double gussets, which are fantastic for containing messes.

Every Rumparooz pocket diaper comes with 2 microfiber inserts/soakers which are made of 80% polyester/20%polymide. Each insert is 3 layers thick. The newborn soaker is contoured to decrease bulk between those tiny legs. It can be used alone during the newborn phase, then as a doubler by snapping it to the larger insert once baby is bigger. The 6r one-size insert has multiple snap settings so you can adjust the length based on the rise your little one is using.

The variety of soaker combinations is amazing! There are soakers settings for newborn, small/medium, medium/large, medium + doubler, and doubler combinations for both girls and boys!

If you're a fan of natural fibers, the 6r soakers are also available in hemp and bamboo (sold separately).

Another great thing about this insert is the tag itself! If you put the insert into the pocket with the tag at the rear, you can just pull on the tag to remove the insert before putting it in your diaper pail or wetbag. This is super handy when you're dealing with a messy poo.

Now, let's talk about how to get a great fit with the Rumparooz one-size pocket diaper. This diaper can be a bit tricky at first. If you just put it on the same way you do your other cloth diapers, you'll probably find the rise too low in either the front or back (hello, plumber's crack!) or too much bulk through the crotch area. I had this problem at first and found myself on the largest rise setting with my little baby... I was puzzled. I did a little research and found THIS post from The Giggling Green Bean Blog and it solved all of my problems. Basically, you need to grab the front of the diaper and pull it up, fully stretching it (without grabbing the insert) before fastening your waist snaps or aplix. This will solve the issue of the rise being too short. You also need to pinch the area between the crotch while bringing the front of the diaper up, so that it fits more like underwear. That way your baby's tender little thigh rolls don't get caught in the diaper. After learning these little tricks they fit like a dream!

Overall, I love my Rumparooz one-size pocket diapers. We get a great fit with absolutely no leaks! These diapers are extremely well-made and have all of the features I love: great absorbency with a stay dry effect, super strong Aplix, double gussets, and cute colors & prints.

I really wish that we have more access to a washer/dryer with #2 because I really want to do cloth diapers but couldn't do it with our son now 🙁

Very new to the cloth diapering world - no baby...yet.... But, these sound like the best so far. I'm definitely going to have to try them out. I've never seen a diaper claim to fit as small as 6.5 lbs yet. And I love your note about the aplix - I've been hesitant to even look into them because of a friend's bad experience. Now I just know I need to do my research. 😉
