    Woolzies Dryer Balls Review

Did you know that traditional fabric softener sheets are loaded with harsh chemicals? Also, did you know that fabric softener is a big no-no when it comes to cloth diapers? Woolzies handmade woolen dryer balls are a safe, natural alternative to fabric softener sheets and are cloth diaper safe!  Woolzies dryer balls are made of 100% wool and handmade in New Zealand.  Woolzies are hypo-allergenic and will soften your laundry without the harsh chemicals. As opposed to those plastic dryer balls, Woolzies are PVC free and won't melt or disintegrate on you. They also last an amazingly long time - up to 1,000 loads! Another great feature of Woolzies is that they reduce drying time by up to 25%! My biggest complaint about my HE front-loading machine is that everything takes so long to dry, especially cloth diapers. I was really excited to try Woolzies and see if they'd really cut down on my drying time.

I received a 6 pack of Woolzies Dryer Balls to review.

    Wool Dryer Balls
Woolzies dryer balls are a little bigger than a tennis ball. Ideally, you want to have at least 6 of them for optimal performance and to speed drying time. The more of them you use, the faster your drying time will be.
If you've gone without dryer sheets or fabric softener before then you know your clothes can be a little stiff and full of static. Woolzies dryer balls will be jostled around during the drying cycle, bumping into your clothes or diapers to naturally soften them and eliminate static.
    cloth diaper dryer balls

I was very interested to see if these would actually reduce drying time for both my diapers and regular laundry. I'm happy to report that they do! For a load of diapers in my front-loading dryer I set it on "Normal, More Dry". However, there's a sensor in the machine that tells the dryer to stop once it thinks the items are dry. When I check them, they're always still slightly damp and I'll reset the dryer to "time dry" for another 20 minutes or so. All of this usually takes about an hour. Since I've started using the Woolzies, the drying time has reduced to between 45-50 minutes. Those are the numbers for mainly microfiber diapers - when I dry natural fibers they do take a little longer but are still quicker with the Woolzies.

I have now converted to using Woolzies with all of our laundry. As recommended with baby laundry, we've never used dryer sheets when doing our son's laundry and I've always been annoyed with the static cling. Now, his laundry (and ours) comes out of the dryer soft and static free. By eliminating dryer sheets from our routine, we've cut out more chemicals from our lives and I'm loving it!

Another benefit for those that are sensitive to perfumes/scented dryer sheets - Woolzies smell like nothing at all. Your laundry will dry faster and be scent free.

Woolzies are now a permanent fixture in our dryer. We just leave the dryer balls in the dryer after each load, that way they're ready and waiting for the next one.

Buy it: You can purchase Woolzies dryer balls on their website for $35.99 with FREE shipping within the US, or you can find Woolzies on Amazon.com, usually for much cheaper.

Win it: Woolzies is giving one lucky reader a 6 pack of their handmade wool dryer balls!. Open WORLDWIDE and ends on 1/29 at midnight.  Good Luck!

    WINNER: Allie B.

Disclosure: I received the Woolzies Dryer Balls at no cost to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. Amazon links are affiliate links.
