    How to Make Ribbon Rings

    ribbon rings

Hello DIY lovers! I'm here with a super fun and quick project for kids or for you to surprise them with! My daughters go to a music class and they have these ribbon rings for them to dance around with while they sing and twirl with their friends. They LOVE them and talk about them all the time, so I thought why not make them for them to enjoy at home. These ribbon rings also make great birthday gifts for little girls too!

    How to make ribbon rings:

    Ribbon Rings

I bought 3" rings at the craft store. They are 79 cents a piece - that’s my kind of craft 😉 I got two for each child and one for our new baby girl for her to use later. They are handy to have around when a friend comes over for a playdate too.

Next, I grabbed some spools of coordinating ⅜” ribbon. The first set that I made of these and gave away were actually all primary colors so these are more feminine-soft. You can use whatever you have in your stash to use it up or you can buy new ribbon.

You will want 1 ½ yards per ribbon ring. Since I am making them for three kiddos - that is 6 rings and 9 yards per color. I used 5 colors but you can do as many or as few as you would like to. Since they double over when you knot them, 5 actually looks pretty full!

    Ribbon Ring Spools

Here is how I knotted them. It was a very simple two step process and they are very secure.

Lastly, trim the edges and burn to seal them using a lighter, or use a solution from your craft/sewing store!

See?! Easy peasy! I hope you enjoyed this and it inspired you to create your own for the kids at home or if you needed a unique gift to give away at a birthday party this is a really fun one! From 18 months to 7 or so years, this has been a huge hit!

This is a cute and easy idea, and I"d like to do it as a stocking stuffer - I have so much extra ribbon!
