One thing I love to do at Christmas is give the grandparents something that the my kids made. They love it and it’s so special for the girls to feel praised by their grandparents for their handiwork. I saw a few reindeer ornament ideas and thought it would be perfect to let my girls freestyle it. My kids are 21 months and just over 3 years and they can both do this craft!
For each reindeer you will need:
- 3 popsicle sticks to make a triangle
- Dry adhesive Glue Dots (preferred over liquid glue since that gets messy with tiny humans. It can be done - it just depends on your patience level that day 😉
- Extra Large Pom-Poms
- Extra Large Googly Eyes
- Pipe Cleaners
- Ribbon
- Scissors
Start by using your Glue Dots to create a triangle, then glue the pom-pom to one of the corners of the triangle. Everything here is the extra large size as with little hands, bigger objects make it easier for them to work with. I bought the large poms as well as the sparkle ones for fun.
In the other two corners you will put googly-eyes. Again, I got the big ones.
Lastly using any color chenille stems (or pipe-cleaners = same thing) you can create “antlers”. I cut them into different sized pieces for them and let them choose. Then I wound them together to create a crazier antler look. I bought brown and gold for them to choose from.
When you tie a ribbon onto it then they are done and ready to hang on the tree!
Don't forget to put their names and date on the back so you can keep track of these Christmas keepsakes!

This is great. I actually have all the materials needed in my craft box so wouldn't even have to go out on this cold day. Fun project for me and the grandkids to do today.

This is such a cute idea. It looks easy enough. I guess this is something I could do. Thank you for sharing

This is cute! It reminds me of the clothespin reindeer we made in elementary school.
