Pink Lemonade Shop Cloth Pads Review!

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.
    Cloth Pads

You have probably figured out by now that I'm a huge cloth diaper advocate. I love everything about cloth diapers and cloth wipes, but I hadn't really thought about "mama cloth" or cloth menstrual pads for myself. My friend Lindsey at So Easy Being Green did an entire series on Mama Cloth and after reading it I felt compelled to give it a go. So, when Pink Lemonade Shop reached out to me to review some of their cloth pads, I thought, "perfect timing"! Quite literally too - my monthly period was due to start soon after.

Pink Lemonade Shop is owned and operated by Sue, a stay at home/work at home mom to 4 beautiful children. After the birth of her third child, she decided to leave the workforce to focus on her family. Sue makes luxury, reusable handmade cloth menstrual pads from the finest fabrics. Her pads are not only excellent quality, they are chic!

Sue let me choose which pads I'd like to try so I went with an animal theme. I just couldn't resist! I chose two 11 inch overnight pads and one 9 inch daytime use pad.

    Cloth Pads

The 11 inch and 9 inch pads are constructed of the same materials, so I'll show you the 11 inch pad. This pad features a fantastically soft minky top and it's backed with water resistant Windpro fleece. Windpro actually repels moisture back into the pad to prevent it from leaking through. It's breathable, unlike PUL, so it's a great option for cloth menstrual pads. The core layer of this pad is made of bambo fleece for maximum absorbency. All of Pink Lemonade Shop's pads come with tab style wings that have a high quality poly-resin snap so you can protect your panties and keep your pad in place. This snap is also great for "wrapping and snapping" your pad after use (sort of like how you'd wrap up a disposable diaper).

    Cloth Pads

The 11 inch pad and 9 inch pad worked perfectly for me. They weren't uncomfortable or as bulky as I imagined them to be at first. Sure, they are a bit bulkier compared to the  (crazy, ridiculously thin) Always Infinity pads I was accustomed to, but the bulk certainly isn't a deal breaker for me.

The Windpro fleece backing does more than just repel moisture too. It also helps keep the pad from shifting. That was one of my biggest concerns, but since I mainly used these pads at night I wasn't moving much anyway and shifting was really minimal.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the experience of using cloth menstrual pads and I can't image finding nicer pads than those offered by Pink Lemonade Shop. They are really fantastic in my opinion and I'd definitely like to have more of them to add to my little stash! In case you're wondering about staining, my Pink Lemonade Shop pads didn't stain at all! The minky just doesn't hold stains, which is another awesome feature. If you're wondering about caring for cloth menstrual pads, you can read more about here.

Buy it: You can purchase Pink Lemonade Shop cloth menstrual pads on their website. Pink Lemonade Shop has several different options to fit your needs, including: 6 Inch Mini Pantyliners, 7.5 Inch Regular Pantyliners, 8 Inch Light Pads, 9 Inch Day Pads, 10 Inch Heavy Pads, 11 Inch Overnight Pads, and 13 Inch Post Partum Pads. They even have sets available so you can sample different sizes. They even have different widths available on some of the pads so you can choose what fits you best. Pink Lemonade Shop also had reusable cloth nursing pads, wetbags, and detergent. The 11 inch overnight pads are $11.25 and the 9 inch day pads are $9.25.

Win it: One lucky person will win a $25 Gift Certificate to Pink Lemonade Shop!
