Is it time for spring refresh? I'm not talking about just giving your house a cursory spring cleaning. Isn't this the perfect time to revamp your personal care routine too? I've partnered with Mirum to share how I'm spring cleaning my husband's routine.
In just a few short weeks, we'll be moving into our brand new home. We've spent months buying all new household items, like fluffy white towels and crisp new linens. Little does my husband know, I'm also using this move as an excuse to spring clean his styling routine. He's been wearing the same workout clothes and using the same personal care products for years and it's time start fresh!
My husband works HARD. He wakes up at 5 AM every single day and works at least 60 hours a week. He deserves to feel clean and confident every second of the day. That's why I'm taking it upon myself to surprise him with a few new things to spring clean his routine. Here's how I'm doing it.
1.) New workout gear. My husband packs a gym bag every morning with the hope that he'll get his work done with enough time to exercise before coming home each evening. He's started shooting hoops with the guys from work a few nights per week, so I thought he'd love some new moisture-wicking shirts and shorts.
2.) New personal care products. I've started cleaning out our bathroom drawers and closet and pitching pretty much everything that's been opened or that we haven't used in a while. Now is the perfect time to introduce a few new items into my guy's routine.
I'm ALL about shopping the sales, especially at my beloved Publix, and I was in for quite a treat since they're having a great sale on Unilever products right now. I grabbed a few things to help my husband freshen up.
For my husband's first shower of the day, I picked up AXE Gold Body Wash for him. This body wash has a relaxing scent of Oud Wood and Dark Vanilla. It's designed to help him stay fresh all day long, and I figured that's exactly what he needs for 12-14 hour days.
For his gym bag, I picked up Dove Men+Care Elements Minerals + Sage Body Wash. Not only does it smell amazing, it's got a new, more enjoyable cleansing format. Your man can instantly pump, foam, and lather for an easier-than-ever way to clean and hydrate his skin. I think this pick was a little selfish on my part since I can't get enough of the scent! I'm glad he'll be using this one right before he comes home to me at the end of the day.
3.) New tunes. I remember the days when you'd make a mix tape for the one you love, so I decided I'd do the 2018 equivalent and make my husband a new playlist. I also decided to surprise him with a pair of wireless headphones for his stints on the treadmill. I know he's going to love them!
Of course, when I was walking by the personal care items at Publix, I also noticed a few things I could use too. I was super intrigued by the Caress White Orchid & Coconut Milk Shower Foam. Orchid and coconut milk? Yes, please! This light and smooth foaming wash is designed to awaken the senses and it certainly invigorates me.
Remember how I said that I'd thrown away any products that had been opened? That included about 10 cans of hairspray. Living in Florida can create quite a challenge when it comes to hairspray, and it seems I've tried them all. That's why I immediately put this can of TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Level 2 in my cart when I saw it. Its superfine micro-mist technology keeps reducing frizz for 24 hours for a flexible hold with a touchable finish. It dries fast and it's humidity resistant!
