If your kids are anything like my daughter then you probably understand the struggle of buying new shoes every few months. We recently tried pediped toddler shoes for the first time and fell in love. Check out why below and learn more about this awesome brand.
Thanks to pediped for sending us these shoes!
Prior to having kids I always thought I'd buy the cheapest shoes available because they grow out of them so fast. However, as soon as our daughter Harper was born, I realized I'd want her in quality shoes that would benefit her feet in ways that cheap shoes wouldn't. I'd love if she could be barefoot all the time, and that's where pediped comes in. Their motto is "next best thing to bare feet" and I'd have to agree. They have three footwear lines Originals®, Grip 'n' Go™, and Flex® which range from newborn to youth size six. We received a pair of Flex athletic shoes which are for confident walkers. I love that they have different types of footwear for each stage of mobility!
pediped toddler shoes review
When we opened the mailbox and found our pediped Flex - Force Silver shoes, Harper was SO excited to try them on; I think she's going to be even more of a shoe person than I am! We received a size EU 26 (9-9.5 US) after I used their online sizing chart to determine what size we'd need. They even have a printable sizing chart available on their site.
My first impression was that they were very well made, lightweight, and I loved the colors of the Force Silver style. They will match so many of my daughter's summer and fall clothes. One of my favorite things about these shoes is that they're machine washable and water safe! Harper loves puddles and her shoes never stay clean for very long because we spend a lot of time outside. Being able to throw these in the washing machine will be so convenient.
The tops are breathable mesh which is great for these hot summer days and I love that they have faux shoelaces with a Velcro strap. Harper hasn't quite mastered tying her shoes but she's able to get these on and off without help.
The Force Silver shoes have Ultra Light Technology™ which makes them very lightweight and flexible, and they have a cushioned heel that supports her whole foot.
The shoes are just a little bit too big for my daughter, but with the Flex Fit System™ insoles they're just the right size. These 2 mm insoles make the shoes almost a half size smaller which is perfect right now. When they start getting tight I'll simply remove the insoles and she'll be able to wear them until she needs a size ten!
I told Harper she could wear her new shoes after I took a few pictures of them, so we headed to our local park to try them out. She was so excited to put them on and said they made her "so fast like a superhero!" I barely got a picture of her sitting before she took off to the playground.
I asked her how the shoes felt and she gave me a giddy "good!" before asking me to chase her like a monster. She was obviously comfortable in the shoes and she loved balancing on all of the beams. The shoes seemed to help her feel more confident on the narrow beams-it's the first time she's walked across them without help!
One of the things I love best about these pediped toddler shoes is that they aren't stiff like many toddler shoes on the market. They're very flexible and Harper was able to do a lot of climbing and balancing because she could bend her feet as if she wasn't wearing shoes.
When I asked her to tell me her favorite thing about her new shoes, she said "they make me run super fast!" I love that they seem so comfortable and she didn't want to take them off when we got home. After trying this pair, I'd like to get some sandals for Harper and a few pairs of the pediped Originals for our six-month old son, Lincoln, when he gets closer to walking. pediped® was awarded the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance for the promotion of healthy foot development and I just wish we'd tried them sooner for Harper. We are very impressed with these shoes and they have so many cute designs-I can't wait to order a few more pairs!
