Sparkling Sorbet Floats Recipe
If you're looking for a non-alcoholic drink to serve at your New Year's Eve party - or anything party actually - look no further than our sparking sorbet floats recipe. This bubbly mocktails will delight your guests.
Just when you start to feel the letdown of Christmas being over, there is something around the corner to plan for! This New Year's, we're staying in and keeping warm, and needed a new drink to try out. This is a delicious non-alcoholic drink that I created that would be perfect for New Year's Eve parties or Valentine's events! New Year's Eve Sparkling Sorbet Floats are easy to make, especially if you have an ice cream maker, but not necessary. Just gather some berries, a bottle of something sparkling, and follow the directions below! For this recipe, you will need:
2.5 cups of strawberries
1.5 cups cranberries
½ cup sugar
a bottle of sparkling white grape juice (I used Welch's)
The first step is to blend up your berries. If they're frozen, I've found that slightly defrosting the strawberries works better than tossing them in ice-cold. If you don't have a really fantastic blender, you might want to use cheesecloth to strain out some of the peels and seeds that are leftover.
Pour the berry combo into a saucepan and combine with the sugar. Heat just until slightly boiling, constantly stirring. You'll really want this to cool way down, since a warm mixture will not do well in your ice cream maker. Set it in the fridge for at least an hour, or overnight if you've got the time. At this point, make sure your sparkling white grape juice is also in the fridge to chill.
Toss your berry mixture into your ice cream maker and let her whirl for 25 minutes or so. If you don't have an ice cream maker on hand, letting this freeze in a shallow pan in your freezer will also do the trick.
Drop a scoop or two into champagne glasses, fill with sparkling white grape juice, and you've got a sorbet float!
Toss with cranberries if you'd like, and have a Happy New Year!
Wouldn't this also make a cute drink for Valentine's Day parties?

That's a fun drink that the kids can enjoy. Especially if the have a small new years party and celebrate. Before midnight, of course. That time's for the adults.
