Winter in Minnesota can get a little long, but this year I'm making an effort to really enjoy cold weather activities. As my kids get older, I realize how fun it is to play outside with them. This is especially true now that I've got the best winter gear that keeps me warm even in the frigid temps! I've partnered with Obermeyer to share some of my favorite mother and daughter outerwear they offer.
I'll be honest; it's taken me years and years to decide that winter isn't the worst season ever. I avoided outdoor activities because the cold weather made me think it couldn't possibly be fun. Once I finally got outfitted in the proper winter gear, I learned that's not the case at all. Winter IS fun! And this year, I'm finding the joy in the snow filled days, winter bucket lists, and toasty jackets and insulated pants from Obermeyer.
Obermeyer Tuscany II Jacket
It was love at first sight for me and the Tuscany II Jacket. The faux fur trim and flattering fit make it great for skiing or date night, and it's available in eleven colors. This jacket has everything you need to stay warm and comfortable, even in Minnesota winter temps! The hood is adjustable and removable, depending on your preferences.
On the interior of the Tuscany II, you'll find a Snap-Away water-resistant powder skirt with an elastic hem. This is great if you're into winter sports like skiing and snowboarding. If not, it can also come in handy if you're a mom like me and your most intense sport is sledding with kids! You'll also find interior pockets and a detachable scratch-free goggle cloth on the inside of the jacket. One of my favorite features on the Tuscany II is the extra long and stretchy inner cuffs. When I'm wearing gloves I know snow won't sneak up my sleeves, which is a huge pet peeve of mine.
Obermeyer Straight Line Insulated Pants
Along with this gorgeous jacket, my new Straight Line Insulated Pants are making winter even more fun. First off, I've never worn more comfortable snow pants. They have an adjustable waistband and Thinsulate™ Platinum flex insulation for unrestricted freedom of movement. They've got a superior DWR polymer coating to resist stains and are made of high performance specialty fabrics. While on, they feel very lightweight and keep me warm without making me sweat.
Obermeyer has such high-quality outdoor gear that I knew our daughter could use a winter jacket from them as well. She loves anything pink and fancy, so the Glam Jacket is right up her alley. This jacket comes in both solid colors and patterns depending on your daughter's personality! It's got an adjustable powder skirt just like the adult jackets, to keep snow out and little bodies dry.
Obermeyer Glam Jacket
The first thing Harper noticed is that the jacket comes with a working compass! It's attached to the zippered hand-warmer pockets and is easily accessible for small hands. The cuffs are fleece lined and have integrated clips for mittens or gloves. Plus, the interior of the jacket is quilted for superior warmth and offers premium hydrophobic 220 gm insulation.
The Glam Jacket is built for play and little growing bodies! One of my favorite features is the I-Grow™ Extended Wear System. Simply put, there's an extra seam inside the jackets and pants that have the I-Grow system. When your child's arms get too long for the sleeves, you can snip that seam. Jacket sleeves will gain 1.5" while pants become 2" longer! That means this coat will likely last us two seasons rather than just one, which is incredible.
The Glam Jacket also offers a reflective logo, trim, and zipper pulls if your kids will be hitting the slopes this year. While Harper hasn't tried skiing or snowboarding yet, I'm sure it's in our near future because she's such an adventurous kid!
We're both so excited about our new winter gear from Obermeyer this year. I'm so happy that winter isn't a season I dread anymore! Rather, it's time to make more memories with my kids, and staying warm and dry despite the frigid temperatures. Our bucket list this year includes sledding, snowball fights, building snowmen, and more. I know our Obermeyer outerwear will stand up to the test of Minnesota winter with no problem!

Also, what should I add to our winter bucket list? I love new ideas!
