Comfortable, Modest Tees & Tops from modbod Review

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

modbodOk, ladies. I don't have ridiculously odd body proportions. I'm pretty close to average on height and weight, yet I usually find it completely impossible to find a decent top that I feel modest in! My list of 'must-have' qualities in a shirt include a long length that won't show my stomach when I'm wrestling kids back into the shopping cart, a high enough neckline that doesn't show the world my religion, and sleeves that hide the arm fat, but that are still comfortable. Tall order? It shouldn't be this hard to fit the bill, but it is, and since I've found modbod, I have a hard time even looking anywhere else! Modbod carries the most wonderful tops of all kinds, and I might be their biggest fan.

    modbod

At no cost to facilitate this review, modbod sent me a variety of their high-quality shirts, and I have nothing but praise for them. Note that modbod doesn't necessarily advertise their clothing as maternity-wear, but clearly, they make great maternity clothes! Their long length and all around stretch make them a most comfortable and appealing choice, and I've been reaching for my modbod shirts nearly every day this pregnancy.

    modbod

First off, here is the modbod Basic ¾ Sleeve Kit (Set of 2) in Midnight and Rhubarb. These are naturally a "slim fit", so they hug your curves, but you don't feel exposed because the neckline is high and the hem is long. I like how it has a hint of a v-neck, and it is tagless!

I'd like to say that I wear a variety of fashionable outfits as a stay-at-home-mom, but honestly, I go for my stack of solid-colored plain shirts every morning. These modbod tops are just exactly perfect for my lifestyle of "mom", where I am cooking, cleaning, and playing all day, but I still feel like I need to look like I am more than a burp cloth when I go out to run errands. The rich, solid colors and flattering fit of these tops make them my all-time favorite shirts, and because they are 90% cotton, they wash well. They'll look just a great after 30 washes. The fabric blend is thicker than the average top, which means that even the lightest colors are not too sheer and you don't have to layer excessively underneath.

    modbod

One of the items modbod carries that you might not have seen before, is this cropped demi tops. The is the modbod Basic Demi Cap in White, and it works fabulously when you'd like some extra coverage up top without the bulkiness of a full shirt underneath a tank or camisole. This is also available as a spaghetti-strap cropped cami top, which also eliminates the need to wear a full cami when you don't want to layer up in hot weather, but you'd like your outfit to be a little more modest, or perhaps you just like the layered LOOK but not the added bulk.

    modbod

Now surely you've witnessed how popular lace has gotten in the past few years, thank you Kate Middleton. Lace has become a classic all its own and it is everywhere! These lace-front camis are right on trend, and I love how they create an added measure of interest to the basic camisole. I picked out the 2-pack in Ivory and Black, and both are lovely! The lace front has that added measure of texture and style that takes your outfit up a level. I love the high neckline that still scoops low at the underarm so you don't have uncomfortable chaffing.

    modbod

Lastly, within the Signature Tops section are these classic cap sleeve tops. These are my staples! Here is White and American Beauty, both sold for $34 each and sold in a large variety of colors. I love how thick the material is while still being so light and comfortable. These are also tagless, sewn well, and are perfect for layering! Honestly, these are the tops I am wearing, over and over again.

    modbod

Besides being great tops for moms and caregivers, do you see how great these are for the workplace? You can wear these as well-fitting, flattering, solid-colored tops that keep your appearance modest, comfortable, and professional. In summary, if you're tired of ill-fitting shirts that don't keep you covered, or if you're just looking for high-quality shirts that will flatter and keep you comfortable, hit up modbod!
