If you want a smartwatch but don't want to settle for a drab watch, I've got some great news for you. The Michael Kors Access Runway Smartwatch is stunning. I've partnered with Best Buy to tell you all about this Michael Kors Smartwatch so you can tell if its a good fit for you.
I've had a few smartwatches and step trackers and to say that they didn't always look sleek and sophisticated would be an understatement. There would be times when they just didn't look right for a certain occasion and I'd slip them off. Not only was it inconvenient not having instant access to the time, but it was also annoying not to have access to my calls, texts, and step tracking (hey, I want credit for those steps!). I'd pretty much given up hope for having a smartwatch that would fit my personal style when Best Buy presented me with a Michael Kors Smartwatch.
Michael Kors Smartwatch
The Michael Kors Access Runway Smartwatch is absolutely beautiful. It's exactly what I'd design for myself if I could dream up a smartwatch. The rose gold-tone finish is so on-trend right now and it's the perfect accessory to go with any outfit. Whether I'm dressing for a casual day of running errands or a date night out, this watch goes with everything.
The 41mm stainless steel case is a great size for most. Oversized watch faces are all the rage right now and I can certainly see why. This gorgeous watch makes a statement and it makes it so much easier to see the watch face. Speaking of the watch face, I absolutely love that you can easily change the face that appears on the watch by pressing and holding the 1.19" AMOLED touch-screen display and swiping. I like to change the face depending on the outfit I'm wearing and it's an awesome feature. One thing to note is that the watch face that is featured on the packaging isn't available. There is a variation of it with a silver background, but not that exact configuration.
In terms of comfort, although the watch is substantial in size, it isn't heavy. I did have to take 4 links out of the band for it to fit me since I have small wrists and that was really easy to do with the right tools. I invested about $5 in a watch link removal tool and it did a fantastic job in resizing this watch and I didn't have to take it to a jeweler so that was a win in my book.
Linking the watch to my iPhone XS Max (it's also compatible with Android phones) was very easy with the free WearOS app. The watch and the app are rather intuitive and you can easily toggle through options by swiping right and left, up or down, and using the knobs to customize the watch to fit your preferences.
I do use a lot of Google apps, so this watch has a lot of the features that I already know and love, like syncing with my Google calendar (you can also sync with your Apple calendar) and having access to Google Pay so you can pay with a wave of your wrist as almost any vendor that accepts credit cards.
The main reason I wear a watch or device of any kind on my wrist is for fitness monitoring. I lead an active lifestyle and want to monitor my activity, steps, and heart rate. My FitBit has served me well in the past, but as I mentioned earlier, it just doesn't look sophisticated enough to wear to every event. This is where the Michael Kors smartwatch shines. It tracks everything I want it to (via Google Fit, which comes preloaded) and looks incredible while doing it. The watch even has Heart Points and Move Minutes, which were designed in partnership with the American Heart Association and the World Health Organization. These metrics measure your activity intensity and guides you to stay active throughout the day. The watch is also water resistant so I don't need to worry about sweating too much.
I also like that I can control the music on my phone with the Michael Kors smartwatch. Once I activate a playlist (like during a run), I can tuck my phone away and utilize the watch to skip songs as needed. You can't fully access other playlists or your full library, but having the ability to control what's already playing or streaming is pretty nice.
Another feature I really enjoy is the proactive help from Google Assistant. I like that it keeps track of my day and what's coming up without me having to ask. It makes staying on top of my tasks much easier. I also like that you can ask it questions quickly.
There are a few drawbacks for me. These may not be drawbacks for you, but I wanted to make sure I noted them. One thing is the battery life. Since my phone and the watch are always syncing, the battery gets drained rather quickly and I need to charge the watch every single night. Since I have to take the watch off to charge it, I'm not able to monitor my sleep habits like I was able to do with my FitBit.
I also wish that I could answer phone calls and text messages (and Facebook and GroupMe messages, etc). from the watch. I can get alerts and read messages and notifications, but there is no way to reply. It would be nice if the watch had full functionality with the phone.
Overall though, I was looking for a stylish watch that could track my steps and physical activity and this absolutely fits the bill. If you're in the market for a new watch, this Michael Kors smartwatch should definitely.
