Have you heard of the Legend of the Candy Cane? It is the most darling poem and really reinforces the meaning of Christmas. I created a Legend of the Candy Cane printable so you can share it with the ones you love during the holiday season.

My son attends a Christian school and they've been crafting their little hearts out this year. The other day he came home with the Legend of the Candy Cane poem and I just fell in love with it. I decided to create a copy so he could give them to his friends and cousins this Christmas. I believe the author of this poem is unknown; at least I couldn't find a source online.

Legend of the Candy Cane Poem

    Look at the Candy Cane
    What do you see?
    Stripes that are red
Like the blood shed for me
    White is for my Savior
    Who’s sinless and pure!
“J” is for Jesus My Lord, that’s for sure!
    Turn it around
And a staff you will see
    Jesus my shepherd
    Was born for Me!

I created a PDF file if you'd like to share this too. All you'll need to do is click HERE to get the PDF of the Legend of the Candy Cane printable, then cut it out. It will print 2 poems per page. I like to use a glue stick to mount it on a piece of red construction paper to give it a bit more sturdiness and color. Then, just tape or glue to mount a candy cane to the printable.

That's it! Super easy and this would make a great gift for your child to bring to his or her classmates.

Love this so much!! I think so many of us lose the reason for the season in the hustle and bustle of buying things! Its a shame!! Lest we never forget <3 Jesus is the reason for the season!! We have a local church that hands these out each Christmas in our parade and my son and I read it together!

The church from my childhood always did this, they may still do it (I moved to far away to attend this church anymore)
