Need a little coffee pick me up once and a while? This homemade frappe recipe is a sweet coffee treat that you'll love!
If you've been following this blog for a little while, you know that I (big puffy heart) LOVE coffee. I have at least 2 cups every morning, and even a cup later in the day if I need a little "pick me up". I've had the distinct pleasure to review a few different Keurig brewers, but this one is currently my favorite (check out my full review of the Keurig 2.0 K550) and has a prominent place on my countertop. I'm an avid coffee lover and have a few cups each morning, but sometimes in the afternoon I need a little pick me up, and that's why I started making this homemade frappe. The hardest part of this recipe is deciding which flavor K-cup to use. In the end, I went with my tried and true favorite, Hazelnut, but you can't go wrong with any flavor in this recipe.
Homemade Frappe Recipe
Ingredients: (this makes a pretty large serving size, think Venti)
- 1 (8-ounce) cup of coffee - cooled to room temperature, or chilled.
- ½ cup of milk
- 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- 3 tablespoons of chocolate sauce (more/less depending on your taste)
- Optional: add a handful of ice if you'd like an "icy" consistency
- Garnishes (optional, but amazing): whipped cream, chocolate sauce, Pirouette Chocolate Wafers
Directions: Add your ice cream, milk, coffee, and chocolate sauce (and ice if you'd like) to your blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. The "milkshake" setting on my Blendtec works fabulously here. If your frappé is a little too thick, add a little more milk. Conversely, if it's too thin, add another scoop of ice cream.
Can't you just taste the coffee goodness?! It's really divine. Finish it off with some whipped cream, extra chocolate sauce, and some fancy wafers and you've got a fabulous afternoon pick-me-up on your hands!
This frappe recipe is pretty easy huh?!
