Home Cleaning Supplies List - How to Create the Ultimate Home Cleaning Kit

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

Maintaining a clean home is easy with this home cleaning supplies list. I'm showing you the must-have cleaning supplies you'll need to keep your home tidy.

    home cleaning supplies list

I've teamed up with Clean Ones for this post.

I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it again - my husband is a neat freak. He truly appreciates a clean house, so I've perfected my cleaning routine over the years and have a go-to stash of items (organized of course!) that I depend on to keep our house tidy. In fact, when my friends buy new homes, I usually bring "cleaning caddy" stocked with my favorite items to them as a housewarming gift. You can do it too with this home cleaning supplies list. Also, be sure to check out our easy weekly house cleaning schedule with free printable!

    Home cleaning supplies list

An organizing caddy: First and foremost, you need something to store your supplies in that you can carry from room to room. Sterilite makes a great one for about $11 and it has plenty of room for multiple bottles of cleaning solutions, brushes, sponges, cloths and gloves.

    Clean Ones Pure Comfort Gloves

Clean Ones Premium Multi Purpose Non Slip Gloves: Speaking of gloves, these are a MUST for me. I try to limit my contact with chemicals as much as possible (this is especially true when I'm expecting, and for the breastfeeding mamas out there too!), so having a fabulous pair of gloves handy is essential. The thing I love about these gloves is that they have a contoured fit and they're sized. You can pick a small, medium, or large, depending on your hand measurements, and you'll end up having a pair of comfortable and functional gloves that feel like they were made for you. They're also thick enough to stand up to heavy messes - which is pretty standard when you're living with a toddler.

    Clean Ones Pure Comfort Gloves

Microfiber Cloths: Ever since I was introduced into the world of cloth diapering I've been a fan of microfiber. It's super soft, so it's gentle for surface cleaning, plus it attracts dust like a champ! I have dozens of these cloths in our home cleaning routine and I like the assortment from Zwipes since they come in multiple colors. I use blue for bathrooms, yellow for dusting, and green in our kitchen. I also have a dozen or so to clean up our little guy after mealtimes. He can make quite a mess, so these work perfectly to gently wipe the yogurt off his face and high chair. The great thing about using microfiber cloths for the majority of your cleaning is that they're machine washable so you can reuse them hundreds of times rather than wasting a ton of money each year on paper towels.

Microfiber Sponges: I detest traditional sponges. They get quite nasty and end up stinking up your kitchen. Plus, unless you have a microwave, they can be a pain to disinfect. Microfiber sponges are a much better option. One side has high-quality, soft microfiber, and the other has a scrubber. They're perfect for kitchen or bathroom use, and once you're done you can just toss them in the washing machine. Again, I like getting an assortment pack so you can color-code them for different rooms/uses.

Scrub brush: This is another must-have for bathroom duty, especially if you have tile in your shower area. Grout can be especially hard to clean, but a little elbow grease and a scrub brush can go a long way.

    home cleaning kit

Cleanser: You can't use a scrub brush without a little cleanser, and Comet is one of my favorites. It's super cheap and you can use it all throughout your house. We use this to clean tough stains and deodorize our porcelain sinks and toilets. It also works great for getting stubborn food particles off of stainless steel appliances. Comet does contain bleach, so be sure to use the Clean Ones Pure Comfort Latex Free Gloves when using it.

Good, all-purpose cleaner: There's pretty much a cleaner for everything, but I love all-purpose cleaners that I can take from room to room to handle it all. One of my all-time favorites is the Better Life Natural All-Purpose Cleaner. This is a great "green" cleaner for all the surfaces in your home, including toilets, countertops, appliances, baseboards, walls, floors, tables, showers, marine, recreational and automotive equipment, sporting goods, toys, fabrics, and carpets. It's free of VOCs, alkyphenol surfactants, and petroleum and simply put - it just works well.

Last but not least, a good mop: I've used my fair share of mops - sponges, rollers, cloth, string mops - I've tried them all. While I like a good string mop, lately I've been loving the Twist and Shout Mop. I love not having to get my hands dirty by manually wringing out the mop thanks to the cool spinning action of the bucket. The mop is also made out of microfiber, and you know I love that!

Clean Ones uses single source manufacturing which ensures quality and consistency across product lines and all gloves are designed to exceed the ASTM glove industry standards for quality and durability.

I'd like to try the enhanced protection multi-layer gloves, because my skin is very sensitive, and I often have a tendency to break through regular latex gloves, allowing chemicals to get onto my skin. It would be great to scrub away at something and not have to worry!

They have quite the selection of gloves for cleaning, which I was not aware of. I am always looking for a good pair of gloves that are sturdy for cleaning, but not too heavy nor cumbersome on the hands. I have small hands with arthritis, which changes the way the gloves may fit - so, I will definitely check them out!!
