I knew I wanted a mixture of hot and cold snacks so I planned a simple, yet super satisfying spread that everyone in my family would enjoy. This was so easy to do once I saw the Game Day Favorites promotion and 1/30 Extra Savings flyer at Publix (hint: if you don't see the Extra Savings flyer in the kiosk by the front entrance of the store, just ask customer service for a flyer). Shelf signs located throughout the store also led me to great items for my menu with big savings.
The first thing I did was head to the meat section to grab a package of fresh chicken breasts. I absolutely love the selection of fresh meats at Publix and can always depend on high-quality meats at good prices. I know my kids love barbecue chicken, so I decided to make barbecue chicken sliders using Publix fresh chicken breast, KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce, and King's Hawaiian Rolls. Right now, you can buy any 1 KC Masterpiece Marinade or Barbecue Sauce (16–28-oz) and get 1 FREE with a manufacturer's digital coupon (equal or lesser value). This recipe is SO incredibly easy to make. You just add the trimmed chicken breasts to your slow cooker with about 1 cup of barbecue sauce, 2 TBSP of olive oil, and 1 TBSP of apple cider vinegar. Cook on high for 3 hours and your chicken will be ready to shred with a fork. Add a little extra KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce to taste and you're ready to go.
My kids can't get enough of the King's Hawaiian Rolls and they're perfect for creating these barbecue chicken sliders. They're going to be a big hit at any game day party.
I also decided to serve up one of my all-time favorite snacks, SuperPretzel! For some reason, these big, soft pretzels feel like a special treat since you usually have them at restaurants and not in front of your own TV. It's so great that they only take 3-4 minutes to bake so you can prepare them in no time. During the Game Day Favorites event, you can get them for $1 off.
