Essential oils are useful for so many things and I 've amassed quite a collection thanks to my partnership with NOW® Essential Oils. I diffuse them in my home, use them in my homemade all-purpose cleaner, and use them to make a great homemade mosquito repellent, peppermint sugar scrubs, soy-wax candles, and a post-workout spray. It's safe to say that I'm a big essential oil fan. So, naturally, I want to share the love with my family and friends.
I visited NOW® Foods a few years ago and I've been hooked on their products ever since; especially their essential oils. NOW is committed to using the best raw materials and processing methods for bringing the highest quality oils to the market as possible. They also do rigorous in-house testing to ensure that you're getting the purest oils, as promised.
Essential oils have been used for centuries for a variety of reasons and I just love that you can do so many things with them. My bath bombs with essential oils went over really well with my circle of friends, so I thought I'd make some roll-on aromatherapy oils for them this holiday season. These rollerballs were really easy to put together and I just know my friends will love them.
Essential oil gifts
First, I decided which essential oils to use. I knew I wanted to use peppermint oil since it's perfect for the holidays. I also wanted to make a lavender oil rollerball since it's one of the most popular and most-used oils in our home. For the third variety, I figured Nature's Shield would be good since it helps combat seasonal challenges. Nature's Shield is uplifting and refreshing with a sweet, camphoraceous scent that is associated with purification and cleanliness.
Next, I gathered my supplies. I used these clear glass roll-on applicators from NOW which hold 10 mL. You can also order mini roll-on applicators if you want to make a larger batch or gifts or variety packs. I already had my essential oils on-hand, I just needed to choose a carrier oil to use with them. With almost all essential oils, you'll need a carrier oil to dilute the essential oil before using it topically. You can use all sorts of oils, like coconut, jojoba, sunflower, or many others. For this project, I chose NOW Grapeseed Oil since it's light and silky.
I filled the rollerballs with my carrier Grapeseed Oil, then added the essential oils. I used about 7 drops of Peppermint Oil for the 10 mL bottle, 10 drops of Lavender Oil for the 10 mL bottle and 10 mL of Nature's Shield for the 10 mL bottle.
I created gift tags so I could customize them the way I wanted. I knew I wanted to use small organza bags and I knew the gift tags would attach perfectly if I punched a hole in the top. I made two different options for the gift tags, one that says "You are essential to me," and one that says "You are essential to us." That way if you're giving a gift on behalf of your family, you can use the "us" tag.

Just cut around the outline and punch a hole in the circle and attach it to your organza bag. Or, if you're using a different kind of bag, attach it with a small piece of ribbon.
I also made a "Happy Holidays" message to include in the gift bag describing each rollerball and its use. This is especially useful for people who may be new to essential oils. Just print and cut out the description of the rollerball you're making.

If you decide to make a trio of the rollerballs for one person, you can print a description of all 3 rollerballs here. My friends and I did this last year to make gifts for the childcare workers of our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group and used mini-rollerballs. They were so well received!
All of these printables are in PDF format and should print nicely on a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. I used cardstock to make it a bit more substantial.
I think these turned out great and I can't wait to gift them this season!
If you're in a time crunch, you can also opt for some of NOW's premade rollerballs. These are brand new to the NOW lineup and are perfectly packaged. You can choose from Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil, or Head Relief.
I hope you love these essential oil gifts!
Caution: NOW® Solutions Essential Oils are very concentrated and can be irritating to the skin. Avoid direct contact with skin and always dilute essential oils before topical use.
